Chapter 4 Do you know what you are getting into

My hand shook like that of a person with epilepsy as I stood in front of their door.

Just like the first day I came to this place, I didn't see anyone around. The entire compound was so silent that it sent shivers through my spine, and the fear that gripped my body when I raised my fist to knock on the door was unlike any I'd ever felt.

I gulped, raising my hand once more to rap on the door. This time, I knocked thrice in case they didn't hear the first ones.

It took me a week to decide on this. Though I claimed it was nothing, I couldn't help the fear of the unknown. The brothers are literally ghosts. No one knows about them and could tell any info about them.

Giving myself up to them would take much more than just agreeing to this. I told Chris where I was heading before I left. This way should I not return, they will know where to find me. It doesn't hurt to be on the safe side.

I screamed when the door swung open like it did on the first day. However, instead of the foyer being empty, I saw one of the brothers.

It was the lean one with the beautiful voice. He was putting on a red shirt with four buttons undone, showing his muscled abs. He had his hair tied up in a loose man bun. The blue shorts he wore, showed off those smooth, beautiful thighs of his.

With the way he stood, he looked like a bronze statue of a god. I know I have seen my fair share of handsome men, but none of them tops the chart with these brothers.

"Mr..."

"Why are you here, bunny?" The other one asked, stepping out of the shadows. Unlike his brother, he was bare-chested, putting on only black trousers that hung low on his waist, showing off his V lines. His hair, like his brother's, was tied up in a man bun, making him look like those Vikings I once read about.

I gulped, giving each of the brothers a look. It took all my willpower not to bolt for the gate. Standing in front of them, with their gazes on me, made me feel the urge to sink into the ground and bury myself forever.

I haven't felt this way before. The brothers know the right way to instill fear in others just by existing!

"Why are you here, darling?" The one with the smooth voice asked, sounding less intimidating than his brother.

"I... You. I... You see..." I tightly clutched my purse to my body, gulping at the fierce expression in their eyes.

"Cat got your tongue?!" the brawny one demanded, causing me to yelp in fear.

"Stop, brother. You are scaring her," the other one admonished before he turned to face me.

Somehow, I felt more scared of the kind one than I was of the always-growling one. I felt like the other was harmless compared to this one, who knew how to speak softly.

The devil you know......

"Why are you here?" He asked once more, raising his brows at me.

"I..." I stepped forward, not crossing the threshold, but close enough to do that. "I accept your terms!" I tightly shut my eyes as I yelled those words out, only to slowly open them when the other one started laughing.

"You do?" He gave me a once-over. "You don't look like you can survive a day with us, bunny. Are you certain you want to be our toy?" He asked, giving me an amused once-over like he was sizing me up.

"Yes." This time, I said it without closing my eyes. I boldly stared into their eyes and said those words.

"Hah. This is getting rather interesting," he said to his brother, who was still looking at me.

"Are you willing to sell your body to us just because of a piece of information?" The second one asked, looking amused by that.

If you put it that way, I sounded like a slut, willing to give my body up to go up the rank.

I clenched my fists by my side, shutting my eyes hard before I slowly nodded, "I know what I'm getting into by doing this. You don't have to ask anything else."

The earliest we get things done, the better for us. I just need to get enough information about them while what they want is sex.

When you look at it that way, it could be seen as a win-win. The sex-deprived men get to have what they want, and I will get the position I have always coveted.

"Step in if you agree to our deal," the one with the smooth voice said, inviting me to come closer.

I turned my head to look behind me, gazing at the gate, before I turned to face them. There was no going back. I have already taken them up on their request.

I needed to get to the root of the matter, to become the queen of journalism, while smiling down at Imelda.

I gulped, giving the brothers a long stare before I stepped onto the threshold, closing the distance between us.

"Holy hell!" I screamed when the door slammed shut behind me, scaring me to my bones.

"Follow us."

The brothers turned and headed towards the stairs. At first, I didn't follow them. I stood in the same spot and glanced around the foyer. Funny enough, there was just enough light to lead me up to the stairs where the brothers were, but not enough to let me see my surroundings.

With a loud gulp, I hastened after them, shaking to my bones as thoughts after thoughts went through my mind.

I know I was the one who willingly came to them, but right now, I felt like I did something wrong by doing that.

What if the brothers are psychos who eat human flesh? What would happen to me now that I'd willingly agreed to give my body to them to do as they please?

Did I make a mistake by agreeing to this?
