"You all look like you've seen a ghost, what's going on?" I shuffled my weight from one foot to another, the shocked expressions mixed with an imminent wave of fear coming from them confirmed that something was indeed wrong.

"Well, where should we start? Oh, I know! How about the fact that our Alpha was killed and we now have to submit to a complete monster of an Alpha?" my sister Leah shook her head in disappointment.

"Adeline," my father spoke gently, "I realized that I would at some point be re-shuffled amongst the pack, considering that we now have a new Alpha with his own betas, deltas and enforcers.

I never thought that there would be a chance that I would end up as an omega though."

His eyes filled with tears, evident that he was fighting them back. Our family, the Taylor's, came from a long line of enforcers.

We were proud of our status, our ability to fight with such strength and we were proud to see enforcer positions inherited generation after generation.

This was undoubtedly killing my father, his pride was not only injured but I could feel the anger radiate off of him.

My legs started to shake as my feet planted firmly onto the floor; I closed my eyes as I allowed the news to slowly process in my brain. There must have been something we could do.

"Not even a full day here and Alpha Jaxon is ruining our lives, tearing our pack apart," I mumbled agitated.

"Tell me about it, when he grabbed your face outside, I thought he was going to rip your throat out at that moment," Bailey responded angrily, clenching her fists together until her knuckles were white.

"Bails, I refuse to be scared of him. He's a power hungry Alpha and I told you already, he will never be my Alpha," I shrieked with the tension in the room growing.

My mother slammed her fists down on the kitchen counter hard, causing us all to stop and stare.

My mother was a sweet woman, too sweet for her own good and she always saw the best in people.

She was a glass half-full woman, always pulling the positives from any situation.

I smiled slyly looking over to my sister, "I suppose mom's right, there's no use being hysterical for something that has yet to happen – although I'm sure it will."

Leah locked eyes with mine, knowing I was trying to calm my parents down while in truth, I myself was so angry at Alpha Jaxon.

I wanted to hate him with every fiber of my being.

"Exactly baby girl," my mother agreed, "I also know that a special birthday is a few days away and I don't want the situation pertaining to our pack to ruin it for you. I'm so proud and excited for you. I hope you meet your mate soon, there really isn't any more fulfilling feeling."

I felt my cheeks start to warm up again. "Oh Moon Goddess, the sooner the better too" I pled in my thoughts.

I couldn't spend any more energy obsessing over Alpha Jaxon. He was evading my each and every thought.
