She calmly strode out of the office under his secretary's jealous gaze. Killian stared at her with a deep look as he watched her leave through the glass window.
"I finally found you, you wouldn't escape like you did five years ago," he said deeply.
His mind went to his son whom he had never met and he felt inexplicably nervous.
"What if he does not like me?" He asked himself as he pursed his lips giving him an enchanting glow. He was so handsome. If any lady could see him right now, then there was no doubt they would fall for him.
"I can't believe that I am now a father,I should give Kyle a call,he would have knowledge about one should give a five year old kid," he muttered tapping his fingers on the table as he tried to get through with his brother.
"Hello," a deep voice resounded from the other end and Killian subconsciously sat up straight. He had always been in awe of his big brother as he was a general in the army.
"What do you need from me?" He asked.
"Big brother, I just found out that I'm a father already,"he paused trying to feel out his brother's attitude.
There was silence on the other end of the line and Killian was nervous. He always looked up to his brother,so he wasn't sure if his brother was upset with him.
"What did you just say?" Kyle asked to be sure he heard properly.
"I have a son," he said as he explained what happened five years ago.
"Killian," Kyle called feeling speechless. He really didn't know what he would say about him.
"So what do you want from me?" He asked knowing fully well he called for advice.
"I'm meeting him today so I would like to know the best gift that could be given to him," he said and he could hear fingers being tapped on the table.
"Why do you ask me?" Kyle questioned completely curious as to why he thought about him when he wanted to make a decision regarding the matter.
"Because you have a child," Killian said lightly.
Kyle's fingers automatically froze once he heard Killian's words. That was the truth, Kyle had a son whose mother's origin is unknown.
"You really have your way with words," Kyle said and Killian chuckled admitting to the fact.
"You can get him game consoles, I'm sure he would be happy with that," Kyle said seriously as he gave a list of what young boys would like to which Killian jotted down. He didn't want to miss a single item.
"I think you should inform father about your child,no child of the Scott's should stay outside, it's best if father acknowledges him," Kyle advised.
"I will give it a thought," Killian said with a deep look.
"Alright, I'm hanging up,I have several matters to attend to," Kyle said and Killian hummed, giving consent.
"Sky,into my office right now," Killian ordered as he rested his back on the chair. It still felt very novel for him hearing that he has a son already.
"Boss," she called with a low voice which sounded really seductive.
"I'm leaving,I have important matters to attend to," he said and Sky pursed her lips.
"Boss, are you sure you want to leave? I haven't had the chance to apologize for my earlier actions," she said as she took slow steps towards him.
She looked at the man who held power in all business and she could not help but drool over him.
If she could get married to him,she would be known as the young mistress and every person in the town would have to give face to her. She fantasized about it and couldn't help but think it too be true, making her more bold.
"Boss," she slurred as she tried to unbuckle his pants.
"Go to the HR and tender your resignation letter, you would be duly compensated," Killian said calmly before he left the office in bug strides.
Sky stood there frozen in place as she couldn't believe she just lost her job. It was actually better for her to resign as she would still be hired.
But if she were to be fired by the company, then her career in the fashion industry would be jeopardized. She knew better than anyone her employer's character.
She stood stiffly and by the time she reacted,he had already left the office. She ran after him with survival instinct. She really couldn't afford to lose her job as her mother and siblings were counting on her.
If she were to resign, where would she get an high paying job? She knew she shouldn't have gotten involved with the second young master of the Scotts.
But what could she do? He was so irresistible. If she had known, she wouldn't have drugged him making him hallucinate. The drug didn't even work as he had reprimanded her before Heather came in. For him to fire her, he knew.
Now this has cost her dearly. She deeply regretted it.
If she had known, but all that was left was endless regret. She collapsed on the floor as she cried. She had ruined her life with her own hands.
"Hello, Helena," Heather's calm voice resounded in the private room which made all the blood in the latter to run dry. She was stunned to see who was in her presence right now.
"You!!" Helena pointed with wide eyes as she stared at the figure in disbelief. How could she be back? And she looked much more pretty. Helena stared at her with red eyes and clenched fists.
"Yes me,do you miss me?" Heather asked with a light smirk dancing on her lips. It was fun to see her scared.
"What the heck are you doing coming back to the city? What games are you trying to play?" Helena asked after she calmed herself down. Heather was in her territory so there was nothing to be afraid of.
But looking at the lady who became more beautiful even after five years, jealousy gnawed at her heart and she didn't bother to hide it.
"Why? Can't I return to my own hometown?" Heather sneered as she looked at Helena. Still as foolish as she thought. She still wore her heart on her sleeves and showed people are varying emotions.
"You can't come back, you can't just come back, did you come back to fight with me for the properties?" Helena asked and Heather chuckled as though she had heard the most biggest joke.
"You,do you think you can compare with me?" Heather mocked which made Helena choke on nothing. It was the truth.
Back when they were growing up, people had always showered Heather with praises and compliments due to how smart and goodlooking she was. Helena had to stand by the side and watch her receive the compliments. Her jealousy stemmed from there.
"And besides, why do I have to fight against you on my mom's company,or aren't you aware that it's my mom who founded it from the scratch, it's only natural I take it back," Heather said with a cold smile making Helena shiver.
"That can't be possible, it's not possible, the company belongs to my dad and not your mom," Helena yelled in disbelief. She stared at Heather with wide eyes unable to comprehend what she had said.
"If you think I'm lying, you can go ask your so called father and I'm sure he would tell you the truth," Heather said with a meaningful smile before she left the room leaving Helena with different emotions.
Heather walked out of the restaurant with a satisfied smile. She hummed a tune to herself clearly happy about the mental blow she had just delivered to Helena. She couldn't help but chuckle as she recalled her disbelief. It was such a refreshing sight.
"Heather," someone called with uncertainty and she turned to look at the figure. She was calm on seeing the figure, but deep within her was hatred for the figure,on the other hand, the figure couldn't control his excitement as he reached out to hug her.
Heather calmly stepped to the right avoiding the figure's hug. The figure pursed his lips as he witnessed her reaction. She hated him. It was understandable as he had abandoned her.
"What's with your reaction? Aren't you happy to see me?" He asked with darkened eyes. He didn't quite understand her temper, one of the major reasons he has abandoned her five years ago.
"I believe we don't have any business with each other, Mr. Bates," she said calmly though you could hear some detachment and impatience from her voice.
