Chapter 5 The Banker

Let's go back to Precious, so as Precious made up her mind to embark on that long walk so as to reflect on her life and what the possible solution could be, she started thinking about her last relationship that ended in just a very terrible way. The fact that her father, step mother and step siblings didn't believe her was what even made it worse for her.

She felt all alone even in her parents' house, and then she decided to run off from that city to this present city she now resides in.

As a very beautiful lady, her beauty was quite daring, magnificent and attracting at same time, she discovered how beautiful she was right from a younger age because of how men were disturbing her. It became worse at the latter part of her high school because even the teachers were disturbing her too about possible relationship with her but she was coached quite well by her father about men, their desires, wants and ultimate satisfaction, so she avoided them like pests.

As at when Precious had gotten to college, she was approached by lots of modeling agencies to become face of their brand but Precious was less interested because she just wanted to make her money and move on with her life. The kind of hatred she had gotten from home especially from her step sisters and step mother had made her realize that she needed to make money immediately after college to leave the family house.

The step mother, who was her Nanny and her Father's ex-girlfriend, finally got back together and they got married to each other, Precious was unhappy about that because she believed that her Father should have respected her Mother who died after her birth. The step mother finally gave birth to 3 kids and they were all girls. Their minds were poisoned by their mother to hate Precious, and then Precious was treated as though she was not part of the family.

Precious would do all the chores at a younger age while her step sisters would stay in the parlor watching cartoon network, she grew up with tough love and that made her even wiser. She was threatened many times by her step mother to never tell her father or anyone about what was going on, if not she would be starved of food and eventually, be thrown out of the house.

She remained silent for years and she was treated badly, sometimes she would be beaten by the step mother who was supposed to act like her mother, in fact the main thing that influenced Precious's father into marrying her Ex was to see who would be taking care of her lovely daughter, Precious.

One of the days, the youngest of her step sister took her father's money and hid it under Precious's bed, the father found the money but Precious innocently denied but her father could not believe her because the evidence of the money was under her bed. She tried to explain to him that someone must have done that but the father who was unaware of how Precious was treated at his back, didn't pay attention to her rather he said some things that hurt Precious badly and this prompted Precious to start disliking her father by all means.

Precious got lots of suitors who had wanted to marry her but each time they visit her at home, they seem to never like her again. She never knew what the problem was. One day she brought a young banker whom she had fallen in love with to her family house, she stepped out to get something for him but by the time she came back, the guy had left. She later found out that one of her step sisters had poisoned the guy's mind. They told the guy nasty things that were untrue about Precious, even told the guy that Precious was a single mother and she sleeps around with so many guys.

In the guise of trying to help the young man, they were hurting Precious's image and her mind.

Precious called the guy and the young man '' Childishly '' blocked her after telling her that he found out about who truly she was, how she sleeps out, how she had a baby already and all. Precious was broken but when she went in to confront her step sisters, they all denied to even having a conversation with her visitor.

She knew that she had been losing out on relationships and it didn't bother her so much because she was yet to develop anything serious with them but this particular Banker's own pained her because they had something very serious going on and now he had gone. She tried to reach out to him, visit him but it was late because the guy had made up his mind already.

On the flip side of it, Precious said '' if he truly loved me, he would have asked for an explanation, why would he just flair up, leave my house, and block me on all handles just because of what he heard from a third party which he never confirmed the validity of the rumor''. So Precious gave up on him too and decided to move on without even feeling bad for so long about him.

Weeks later, the young man tried to reach Precious but she was already out of his life, he begged for an explanation but Precious was uninterested at that point because she felt so hurt, she, in turn, blocked him from reaching her, and just chose to work more on herself instead of all these emotional dramas and circle of failed relationships.

Even when the guy did his findings to discover that he was lied to by Precious's step sisters, he could not control the level of damage he had caused, so he flipped into repairing the relationship that was long lost and gone, who would you blame for that? It's all him who acted like a child.
