I turned my gaze to him. "We aren't married yet, so I see no reason why we have to share the same bedroom. And besides, I accepted to come home with you doesn't mean I accept to be your mate. This union is only on one condition." I stated frankly.
"Which is?" He asked, not feeling surprised.
"You are not going to mark me until I say so. If you do, I'm gonna kill myself."
He chuckled. I was beginning to hate that part of him. He seems to find everything funny. "I've heard you, I won't mark you." He agrees.
"I'd prefer to stay in a different room." I insisted.
"Okay. I'll tell the maid to take you to one." Just then, a lady shows up with her head slightly bowed to the ground. "Show Miss Martin to her room."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
I looked at him like it was my last time. A half smile played on his face, enhancing his beauty which almost caused a spark in my belly. I quickly took my eyes off him, hating myself for feeling that way toward him.
We finally got to a room. The young lady unlocked the door, pushing it open. She entered, and then I followed her. "Welcome to your new home, Miss Martin." She said with a welcoming smile. "This will be your room from now on. By the way, my name is Mia, I'll be your new maid. If you need anything, you can just dial the code 311 on the telephone and I'll be on my way."
Wow! This was the best life I have ever seen. I don't have to say at the top of my voice all in the name of calling my maid.
"Well, thanks for the information, I'll keep that in mind."
"Okay. Your shower is ready, and there's a new dress for you in the bathroom. Dinner will be ready at eight, I'll check on you before then for a reminder."
I nodded my head. "Once again, thank you, Mia."
"You're welcome. Feel free to explore the house." With that, she left the room.
I walked to the bathroom, and it was a wow! I know I've lived in luxury since I was a kid, but never have I lived this luxurious before.
I didn't hesitate to take my bath, I was feeling hot and sweaty inside the hoodie I was putting on.
I sighed heavily as I relaxed my body into the warm water, leaving only my head outside. I began to wonder how my life would be with the Lycans. I know it won't be that easy for me, but I have to.
My mother would always say, "Patience is a virtue." Normally, I wasn't the patient type of person, but I was gonna become one soon... with the Lycans.
Then a plan popped into my head. There's always a way to be happy without getting controlled right? Yes, that perfect way you've got to live your life just the way you want without anyone telling you what or what not to do.
I hurriedly took my bath, stepping out of the water-filled tub. I took the towel from the hanger, tying it around my chest. I walked to the room, staring at the gown on the bed.
Not really what I needed to carry out my plan so I ignored it, heading to the wardrobe. I searched for a simple pair of clothes to put on. Picking a shirt, a pair of black jean trousers and a black canvas.
I stared out through the window, down to the ground. The height was pretty high, I looked everywhere in the room for a way out of there. I took the blanket on the bed and those in the wardrobe, tying them together to form a long rope. I didn't mind if it had gotten to the ground, but I was certain it was a few meters from the ground where I could jump.
I knotted one end of the rope on one leg of the bedchamber, throwing the rest outside the window. I was sure the ground was free from anyone seeing me.
Slowly, I climbed down, landing gently on my feet. I looked at the mansion for the last time, before taking my leave. I sneaked in a way that the guards couldn't see me. All thanks to Tom for teaching me this tactic.
I took to my heels without turning back. My leg wasn't hurting because I was used to stuffing like this. I ran until I was meters away from the mansion, my heart pounding three times its normal beat.
The distance from Alpha Isaac's mansion to the road was almost like a twenty-minute journey by car, the road was covered with tall trees which also made the entrance road to his home enticing to the eyes.
Well, I wish I could make it to the road before he finds out that I ain't in my room. I noticed a car was approaching from the other direction, heading to the mansion, I ran into the woods, reducing my place so as not to make a noise. I was sure whoever was in that car wasn't seeing me.
I was sure the car had passed before I continued running as fast as I could. I stopped running as my legs were beginning to hurt me. I paused for a while to catch my lost breath. I've been on a run several times, but not like this.
This was a different kind of run, a run of fear. I've heard so much about Lycans, they aren't as easy-going as werewolves. Notwithstanding how handsome Alpha Isaac might be, it doesn't count that he is that easygoing.
I mean, it's already in their blood. The aggressiveness, anger, hatred, and lack of emotions are not the kind of love I want. But this little heart of mine won't understand that part. It always feels exciting each time I see him, yes, Alpha Isaac.
Urgh!
It took me about five minutes to get myself. I felt more energetic to continue running. The road was looking more like a never-ending road. It wasn't this far while coming, why does it seem endless now?
Or is it just me imagining it to be just a twenty-minute journey by car? Or the fact that I was becoming a slow runner all of a sudden?
No, I can't stay here this long or Isaac will find me. As long as I'm still within his territory, I don't think I can ever escape from him. "Hey, wolfie, I think it's time you do your little wonders," I said to my wolf.
I stood for a while to breathe, inhaling enough air as my lungs could contain, exhaling heavily. "It's time to get the fuck out of here, Lydia," I said to myself. "You can do this. You've always done it before, you can do it now."
I took to my heels, excited at how much I was putting in to get out of there. I was pretty much faster than I expected, to the extent that I was beginning to hear the sounds of moving cars and human voices, giving me hope that I was close to the roadside.
But then, something stopped me. I felt his presence and I knew he was following me. I looked back but I didn't see anyone, but when I tried to look forward, I saw Isaac standing before me.
I stopped abruptly, my eyes widened in shock and terror. I was close to the roadside and this bastard just showed up from nowhere?!
"Where to sweetheart?"
I moved backward, shocking my head. "How did you find me?" I asked.
"Maybe you should stop walking and let's talk about this." He said but I ignored him. "Be careful."
"Shut the fuck up." I kept walking back, and when I turned to run from the other direction, I had my forehead smacked against a tree.
My head grew dizzy, and my eyes shut closed. Whatever happened after is history.
