Chapter 4 You Have No Choice

Corinne was speechless, her eyes wide in disbelief.

Julian's temper flared at her silence. He demanded, "Disappear. And be ready by eight tomorrow morning. We're heading to the courthouse to finalize our divorce."

Corinne wasted no time, pivoting swiftly and exiting without looking back.

Unseen to her, a chilling stare followed her departure.

"Sir," the bodyguard interjected, "shall I call the family doctor now?"

Julian's gaze was frosty. "Did you locate that woman yet?"

The bodyguard hesitated, then recalled who he was referring to. "Sir, after your car accident, we tried but failed to find her or your token."

A sharp light flickered in Julian's eyes. "Incompetent! Deploy everyone. Leave no stone unturned until you find her."

Before his car accident, Julian had forced a woman into having sex.

He had been under the influence of drugs back then. After that, he had left in haste, and upon returning to rectify the situation, she had vanished.

He had vowed to marry her, but now...

The image of Corinne flashed before him, fueling his anger. He resolved to sever ties with this shameless woman immediately.

The bodyguard hesitated, saying, "Sir, given everything that's occurred and considering your mother's wishes for you to marry and have children, perhaps you should accept this arrangement. She is not young anymore."

Julian spoke with a cold demeanor. "I committed to that woman to marry her, and I intend to keep it. Offer a reward. Announce that my token is missing. Offer two million. She was the only other person in that room; she must have taken it."

"Yes, sir!" the bodyguard replied.

Soon after, the family doctor arrived and conducted a detailed check-up on Julian. Except for minor irregularities in his health metrics, Julian was in good condition.

Julian dressed and fixed a cold stare on the doctor. "Do you have any contraceptive pills?"

The doctor was taken aback.

Meanwhile, Corinne had returned to another room assigned by the butler.

Seated before the vanity, she was disheveled and distractedly toyed with a necklace engraved with JS.

Julian's return to consciousness had thrown a wrench in her plans. She had intended to become pregnant to claim the $300 million, leveraging the Scott family's wealth and influence to confront her uncle.

Yet, with Julian now alert, the situation had escalated in complexity. It was evident that he was not a man to be easily manipulated.

Bang!

The door flew open with a forceful kick. Corinne swiftly stashed the necklace in a drawer and stood up sharply. Julian, looking pale and seated in a wheelchair, fixed a cold gaze on her.

"You..."

"Administer the pill to her." His tone was cold, and his eyes avoided hers.

Corinne's body shook. "What pill?"

In no time, Julian's bodyguards seized her.

Corinne's breath tightened. "What are you doing?"

Julian's frosty gaze cut through her. "Did you really think I'd let someone as scheming as you carry my child?"

Corinne clenched her fists. He was correct; her intentions were indeed selfish. Yet, she had no other choice.

She couldn't ingest the pill. She needed to get pregnant.

"I refuse to take it."

"Here, you have no choice. Force her mouth open." Julian's command was unyielding and deep.

Corinne fought back but was overpowered. Her mouth was forced open.

Tears streamed down her cheeks as she gazed at Julian, confirming that he was as ruthless as the rumors suggested.

A maid stepped forward with the pill, poised to force it between her lips.

Just as the pill neared her mouth, a commanding voice demanded, "Stop!"

Zoey burst in, shoving the maid aside.

She had come hastily after learning of Julian's awakening, only to stumble upon this distressing scene.

Zoey fixed her gaze on Julian. "Julian, she's legally your wife. How can you treat her this way? Let her go!"

The bodyguards looked at each other uncertainly, yet they held onto Corinne.

Tears sparkled in Corinne's eyes as she looked pleadingly at Julian.

Julian's gaze briefly flickered with a cold detachment. "Release her."

At his command, the bodyguards immediately let go of Corinne.

Corinne inhaled sharply, clutching her chest and savoring a brief moment of respite.

Zoey quickly checked on Corinne and asked if she was okay, to which Corinne nodded.

"Mother, I intend to take her to finalize the divorce tomorrow," Julian declared, his tone cold and devoid of emotion, making it clear it was not up for discussion.
