Chapter 4 SEALED SEARCH

Daelan's POV

"Let's go for hurting, prepare the bows"

"My Lord" I raised my hands up in the air as a signal for Logan to keep quiet. He has protested for me to rest after a hectic day at the training ground,but I was not giving in yet.

The weather was warm and the sun was gradually descending into the clouds, a reflection of orange hue spread across the leaves. It was a great time of reflection.

He trailed away from me to get the bows and arrows ready. I would love to make a great catch then finally I could prove to Logan that I was the best at hurting. He won me last time.

We went with a few other guards, just for formality sake, they came along with me and Logan. I know no one was willing to attack the Alpha king. Never heard of it.

The churning of birds filled our ears with the crisp punctuation punctuated by a rhythmic chumming like nature was whispering secrets.

Our footsteps rumpled on the dry leaves which cracked and snapped.

I made eye contact with the remaining 4 guards behind me and they all wallowed into different directions.

I stood slightly bent to my knees, my sense heightened to several miles away for any slight movement of squirrels and there it was gently peeking on the food it had, occasionally looking around for any sight of danger.

I pushed one foot ahead slowly descending the space with rap attention on my prey.

Just like it noticed, it left just immediately running for its dear life, I transformed into my wolves, bones cracking in peace with a growling that escaped my mouth.

I chased after it with red eyes, my eyes never leaving its direction and it kept running jumping from one tree to the other.

Eyes on the target, determination flowed through me. I hastened up my speed, my claws digging deeply into the earth.

Just when it swapped to the next tree, I saw her. I stopped suddenly, my four legs steady to the ground.

Who could she be? She looked so frightened. What she a threat to my kind? Was she sent as a spy? Several thoughts ran through my head but I couldn't stop myself from staring at her.

Her face was completely swollen due to too much crying. Who hurt her? I was completely captivated by her eyes. She was a beauty to behold. Her long gown simply adorned her curves. Those mesmerizing blue eyes stared down at me with horror and fear.

Hope she isn't scared of me. Who won't be? After seeing my giant wolf which was not the normal size for other Alphas.

The sense of wellness ran through me. I'm still the Alpha king. I have to scrutinized her first to know her mission to my pack. I howled at the others, a secret code whenever one was in trouble. Just in a minute they found their route to where I stood.

Branches crisped to pace and their steps drew further closer. We stood there in eerie silence, just the both of us staring at each other. She pressed her weight against the tree branch as her chest went up and down in fear. The v-neck of her gown showed off her cleavage, a beautiful sight to behold. It looks like a wedding gown, but I was not too sure.

The bond I felt within me drew me closer, and I took a step towards her on my four legs. The zeal to comfort her and whisper into her ears that she was safe drew me closer. Moving closer, I smelled her scent, Lavender smell filled my nose calming my nerves.

It drew me closer to her like a moth to a flame, what was this I'm feeling?Why am feeling this strong pull towards her.

"What is going on?" I asked my wolf in my head. I noticed we aren't flying in the air anymore.

"I think we just found out mate"

"Mate" I scrolled.

"How is that even possible?"

"I want to come out, let me out. I want to see her" instead he sneered back at me.

How could I find my mate in the forest, I have to journey a thousand miles to find her. I have searched in different Kingdoms including the coven but still I couldn't find my mate.

"Well well, let's see who we have here" Logan's words brought me out of my thoughts.

"Hey, don't you dare touch her" I midlink him, protecting my boundaries. I knew it was his work to scrutinize situations.

"She could be a rogue you know and a threat to our pack"

"Are you dumb, don't scare her off. She looked so exhausted"

"Yes my Lord, allow me to do my job" I closed off the mindlink. Observing from the rear end. Her gaze moved from me to the two guards who had come with us then at Logan.

She must be scared to her heart, watching as her hand shivered the same way with her lips.

"P..please, I didn't mean to trespass" she begged with her eyes,

and her innocence swept through me. I was right, she isn't a threat to me. She must have wallowed away from her pack for an intense reason which I'm yet to get.

"Not how it works, girl" I heard Logan noise firm just like a threat. Why is he really acting harshly to her ? My patients are wearing away. I warned him about this earlier , so I chose to remain calm. But the next words that slipped off her lips got me wondering.

"Very well then, do as you please". She replied to Logan's threat.

"Wow." She is brave and outspoken. The kind of trait I want from my Luna. She isn't as weak as I thought.

She is good for keeping.

"Shouldn't we take her in" Logan midlink me.

"Is that a question?"

I watched the scenes unfold before me, my mind wandering off at the elders' threat to have an heir and finally a Luna. I was almost bound to the idea of having a breeder but then today was not just a lucky day but the best day.

I couldn't wait to have her as mine, and put my mark on her neck. The journey of a thousand miles has finally ended. Going hunting would be my best hobby from now on.
