Maybe it was because they were angry with me that they did all this. The intention to tidy up the room was aborted, I let everything remain messy, so that Mas Reno could see firsthand, how rigid his sister-in-law, whom he always protected more than me. I wondered how he would respond if he knew that Mbak Wina wasn't as innocent as he thought.
I grabbed my cell phone, which was tucked away in my pants pocket. Then I called Mas Reno to tell him to come home immediately. However, when I called, it turned out that Mas Reno's cell phone was not active. I felt even more upset, facing this reality. I immediately went to my room to get my car keys and tote bag. I was going to my in-laws' house to ask them directly why they were doing all that.
"Mas Reno, why is your cell phone not even active at all? It's making me even more horny," I whispered.
I immediately drove the car, cutting through the city streets to follow Mas Reno to Mrs. Risma's house. After locking the gate and my house, to prevent anything unwanted while I was gone.
I continued to drive my car, at a moderate speed, because the road was also quite congested. Not long after I arrived at my in-laws' house, I parked the car, and then I immediately got out. I looked around my in-laws' house, but there was no Mas Reno's car parked there.
In the garage there was only a scoop* motorcycle, which Reni used to go to college. The house also looked deserted, as if there were no occupants. According to my calculations, they should have come. But this didn't make me any more annoyed with them.
'This Mas Reno hasn't arrived yet, has he gone home again? But I better check the truth first, who knows there are people inside,' I muttered.
I immediately went to my in-laws' house, coincidentally the gate was not padlocked, only buttoned. I immediately opened the gate, then went to the front door of the house.
"Knock ... knock ... knock, assalamualaikum," I said, after knocking on the door first.
I knocked twice and said my greetings. But there was no answer, let alone opening the door. I intended to knock one more time, but just as I was about to knock, a voice answered from inside. It was a female voice, familiar to my ears.
"Uh, I thought it was you, Ma'am. Mbak Mila, what are you doing here, I'm doing an assignment," Reni asked curtly.
"Ren, Mom's not home yet," I asked without further ado.
"Mom's not home, ma'am. I don't know where she went either. Because when I came home from college, she wasn't there. It's not like she went to your house," Reni asked back.
It turned out that my guess was right, that Mas Reno and Mom hadn't arrived home yet. I don't know where they are right now, because I called Mas Reno and his cell phone was not active. I tried calling Mrs. Risma and Mbak Wina on the way, but they were also mocked. Now I was confused about where to find them.
"Ma'am, how come you're asked instead of staring? If you really don't have anything else to do, it's better if you just go home, I'm busy working on my thesis," said Reni.
"But Ren, Ma'am," I said hanging up.
Just as I was about to ask for help, to call Mrs. Risma or Mbak Wina, Reni closed the door and locked it from the inside. That child was so insolent, it made me even more annoyed with my husband's family.
After Reni closed the door, I quickly left. I decided that I would look for them on the road, as well as go home. Just as I reached the highway, I heard my cell phone ring. This notification was a sign that someone was calling.
I immediately parked the car and picked up my cell phone that I had placed on the dashboard. I thought it was Mas Reno or his mother calling me, but it turned out to be Mr. Hartono. He was the financial manager at Papa's company who was passed down to me. I immediately picked up the phone.
"Assalamualaikum, Ms. Mila," said Pak Hartono, as I picked up the phone from him.
"Waalaikumsalam salam, Mr. Tono. What is it, sir? It's unusual for you to call me. Usually, if there's anything about the company, you always contact Mas Reno?" I asked to the point.
"Yes, ma'am. That's exactly why I called you, because I have something to discuss about Mr. Reno and the company. Do you think you can come to my place, if possible today? But don't bring Mr. Reno, ma'am. You can come alone, because this is very important, ma'am. It's about the future of the company," she explained.
