Chapter 4 Chap 4 First Day

'Good grief! What time is it? I have to hurry if I don't want to be late,' muttered Karin.

She lifted the blanket covering her body and she almost fell over in her rush to get out of bed.

She hurriedly walked to the sink to brush her teeth and wash her face. When finished, she changed into her nightgown with a white shirt, with elbow-length sleeves, which she combined with a skirt that was above her knees.

After getting dressed, Karin walked to the kitchen and took a piece of toast. She ate the bread while walking out of the apartment.

'I can't be late on my first day of work,' thought Karin.

A few minutes later, Karin was on the bus that would take her to the company. Who would have thought, in the middle of the journey The bus Karin was riding in had an accident. The bus she was traveling in collided with a car.

'Unlucky! I have to get to the office immediately, or I don't want to get angry with Mr Ryan,' Karin muttered to herself. Not wanting to arrive late, Karin approached the bus driver, who was involved in a conversation with the driver of the car that collided with the bus he was driving.

"Excuse me, sir! I'm in a hurry to get to the office. Here's my phone number, if you need a statement from me." Karin took out a business card from her bag and handed it to the bus driver.

"Wait, Miss! You can't just leave," the bus driver called out to Karin.

Karin stopped and turned to look at the bus driver, shouting, she said, "Sorry, sir! I am in a hurry."

Karin walked quickly back to the company, passing through the sidewalk which was busy with other pedestrians.

With heavy breathing and clothes wet with sweat. Karin also arrived at the building where she worked. However, unfortunately, when she saw her watch, Karin almost cried. She was a few minutes late, even though she had been warned not to be late.

Karin walked with her heart beating fast not only because she was afraid of meeting her boss, but also the woman who had shown her dislike for her.

Karin's hopes did not come true when she passed the door of the woman's room at the same time, she opened the door to leave her room.

The fierce woman, whose name Karin didn't want to remember, looked at her coldly and with a sour face. She then folded her arms in front of her chest and said, "Do you know what time it is? It's only your first day of work and you're already late, do you think you're a special employee?"

Karin, who realized her mistake, could only look down. She couldn't argue, even to explain, she wasn't sure that the woman standing in front of her would accept her explanation.

Karin's misfortune didn't stop there. From behind her came a baritone voice that made her heart almost jump out.

'Oh Lord! Double damn. Why did Mr Ryan have to catch me coming late?' thought Karin.

"What is this? Is there a meeting in the office hallway?" Ryan asked in a cold voice.

"Your new secretary is late, sir!" The woman looked at Karin, with a sinister smile on her lips.

Ryan glared at Karin. "You came straight into my room, Karin! "And you, Helda, go back to your room," said Ryan, in a firm tone of voice.

Karin nodded her head she could only surrender otherwise she would get angry with her boss. She walked beside Ryan, with her hands feeling cold, because she felt nervous and afraid of being scolded by Ryan.

Arriving at the door to his office, Ryan took out the key from his coat pocket, then opened the door easily, Ryan moved his body to the side and invited Karin to enter his office first.

"Come in, Karin!" Ryan ordered.

Karin felt doubtful because she could see that her boss's eyes were not angry, but something that made her heart beat fast and feel excited. However, she also stepped forward to enter. As she passed right in front of Ryan, a masculine aroma radiated from his body. It was as if there was an invisible magnet that attracted Karin to come closer and feel the chest covered in hair.

The sound of the door closing made Karin jump in surprise. She became worried, especially when she saw Ryan playing with the key he was holding in the air, before putting it in his shirt pocket under the jacket he was wearing.

"Sit down, Karin! You know, don't you, the reason why I ordered you to come into my room?" Ryan himself walked to his work chair and sat there.

Ryan cast a cold gaze at Karin. As a leader, he doesn't like it when his employees arrive late. And earlier he deliberately gave Karin a slightly loud voice, because one of his staff also caught Karin.

"You made a mistake on your first day of work, by arriving late. Do you think you can just do that without getting punished?" Ryan asked, in an ambiguous tone of voice that made Karin think sensual things.

Karin lowered her head, her hands interlocked in her lap. "Excuse me, sir! "Earlier on the way, the bus I was riding in had an accident and I was already running, so I could get to the office on time."

Ryan's eyes searched Karin's face, which looked sweaty. His gaze then fell to Karin's chest, where the shirt she was wearing looked damp and stuck to it.

"You intend to tease me? By looking like that?" Ryan asked hoarsely. His eyes did not shift to look at Karin's body, which was clad in a shirt that was stuck to her body due to sweat, and she had left the top two buttons open.

"I didn't mean to tease you. "My clothes were wet from sweat and I didn't bring a change of shirt, because I didn't expect something like this to happen," said Karin. She saw that her shirt was see-through and showed her bra.

She heard the sound of the chair Ryan was sitting on shifting and he saw her boss walking into a room inside the workroom. Not long after, he came out again and walked over to Karin.

Ryan was standing right behind the chair occupied by Karin. "I will lend you my shirt to wear. Maybe, you indirectly gave me a code to ask you to sleep together." Ryan whispered in Karin's ear.

Suddenly Karin was shocked, she straightened up in her seat and it turned out it was a mistake for her. Her head accidentally hit her boss's chin, causing his voice to groan.

"You must have done it on purpose, right? And you did all this to get my attention!"

Ryan scolded. He then walked back to sit in his chair.

"Change your shirt! Or do you want me to help you put on the shirt? "I'll be happy to help take it off," said Ryan, in a mocking tone.

Karin stood up from her seat and looked at Ryan bravely. "Thank you for the shirt loan, sir! I will return it tomorrow because I don't want you to have a reason to come to my apartment, as you accused me of."

Ryan stared coldly at Karin. He didn't like Karin twisting what he said earlier. He waved his hand and threw Karin out of the room.

Karin quickly walked towards the door, then she turned to face Ryan. She remembered that she had heard the sound of the door being locked, plus Ryan brandishing the key in his hand.

"How can I get out of this room, if you lock the door?" Karin asked.

Ryan had a mysterious smile on his lips. "I forgot if you want to open it. "Please take the key that is in my shirt pocket," said Ryan.

"You can also change clothes in the bathroom, which is in my room," Ryan added again, with seductive eyes.
