Chapter 5 Play Done, Run!

"Chairman McDaniel, actually..."

"Order something, I'm going to the restroom."

After saying that, Raymond left without waiting for anyone, and at this moment, Clara started to reveal her inner turmoil, furiously pointing at Mandy, saying:

"Damn it, Mandy! Tell Victor I quit! I don't want to work anymore! I refuse to collaborate with McDaniel Corporation any longer! Seriously, I'm so angry I could die! I'm not doing this anymore, not doing this anymore, let someone else jump in, I'm out!"

Clara was about to "play done, run" but Mandy literally grabbed her legs, whining:

"Clara, Clara, what am I supposed to do if you quit? I can't beat Chairman McDaniel on my own... Clara, you're both a mother and a father to me, please don't do this."

"In your dreams! Call Victor, tell him to come and sign the contract himself, I'm done!"

At this point, Clara's anger reached its peak. Regardless of Mandy holding onto her legs, she wanted to leave quickly, but as she was about to reach the door, Raymond came in.

He frowned at the two in an extremely peculiar position, and coldly asked:

"What are you two doing?"

After saying that, Clara turned back to look at Raymond as if there hadn't been any parting, leaving Mandy to mourn over his wallet. Essentially, Mandy is probably bankrupt today.

"Chairman McDaniel, shall we begin?"

He didn't respond but just nodded. However, suddenly, Raymond's gaze wasn't on the person talking about the contract and the project. Mandy could only wipe the sweat off his face, finding this man even more terrifying than their Chairman Victor. But that furious expression seemed familiar to Mandy... It felt oddly familiar.

Thus, the project of the Parks Corporation was shared, but Raymond was looking at her... Wait, why does Raymond's gaze at Clara seem so odd? Mandy even had to rub his eyes a few times. Wasn't he just looking at him with utmost disdain? Why does he look so gentle and obedient like a lost puppy when he looks at Clara?

Uh hello? Inside, Mandy was screaming: "What did I do wrong, oh God!"

"Chairman McDaniel, may I ask if this project meets your expectations?"

"Yes, not bad. But there are still a few areas your company needs to revise."

"In that case, Chairman McDaniel, please instruct us. We, the Parks Corporation, will make the necessary revisions as you request."

Then, Raymond took out his phone, tapped something on it, and then looked at her again, saying:

"I'm sorry, Chairman Lawson, I currently have urgent matters to attend to and cannot stay for long."

Clara was puzzled, wondering what was going on now.

But then, Raymond gave her a Yuchat QR code, saying:

"Please, Chairman Lawson, add me, and I will send you the details that need to be revised."

Clara, not one to easily back down, glanced at Mandy, signaling him to scan Raymond's QR code. But just as Mandy stood up, he received a glare from him and shrunk back, saying:

"I think it would be better if you scanned it."

Clara, puzzled, looked at Mandy, but when she turned to Raymond, his face seemed perfectly normal... What's going on, is Mandy out of his mind today? Or didn't take his medicine?

Not wanting to waste any more time, Clara had to use her personal account to add him. After getting her Yuchat, Raymond said:

"Until next time, Chairman Lawson."

Then, as Raymond left in a hurry, Mandy lay sprawled on the table, moaning:

"I want to resign, I really want to resign! Chairman McDaniel looked at me so terrifyingly, it's like he wanted to devour me whole! So scary... I'm done! I quit."

Clara just laughed, smacking Mandy on the head WHACK, a hit so loud you could hear it from Harborview to Viet Nam.

Mandy, feeling the pain, looked at her and said:

"Clara, I'm sure he did it on purpose! He just wanted your Yuchat so he glared at me, I swear he's interested in you!"

"Mandy, didn't you take your medicine? Have you ever seen someone who likes someone else make things difficult for them? You're crazy!"

Suddenly, Mandy blanked out, oh... Clara was right, from the beginning, Raymond had deliberately made things difficult for them. So, what did that look he gave Clara and then Mandy mean? Clearly, that look was very off... It was strange... It was... weird.

"Alright, back to company matters."

"Clara, could it be that before you left Harborview, you flirted with Raymond and then left him hanging?"
