Chapter 5 5

ALEXANDER POV

I had my guards follow her home in other to make sure she and her grandmother are safe back home. I couldn't understand why I was feeling pity for her. I was working in my office when I got a call from one of my guards to inform me about people harassing her at home, I got up quickly and rushed to her place, indeed she was in trouble, I got angry at the way they were treating her and I had to pull her out of the crowd quickly and settled whatever thing she owed every one of them.

I had to hire someone to look after her grandmother because it's part of the deal, sometimes I wonder why I am doing this for her, she is not worthy of it, and I know she got to work for it. Soon after, I heard footsteps and the sound of luggage being rolled in, I raised my face to see her standing with her belongings.

"You took so long to get here". I said as moved to sit in the living room.

" Am sorry for the delay". She said and I could see the sincerity in her eyes.

"Now that you are here, you can sign on the files". I said as I pushed the file to her, she picked it up and signed on it without delay.

" Here". She said as she placed the files back on the table."What are my jobs here and how many months am I going to be working here?". She asked unfriendly.

"Didn't you read the files when you signed on it?".

" Am just asking, maybe you make some adjustments since you paid for all my bills".

"Sure there is, your job here is to clean, wash, and cook and listen to my rules because you are going to be working for me for a month". I said I could see the surprised look on her face.

" A month? You didn't add to it?".

"It comes with rules and regulations, you think I am stupid, do you?". I said and continued." I owe you for a month so whatever I say you must obey". I said and sipped from my wine." The first rule, is you are not to speak when I am speaking. Rule number two, you are to deliver my meal to me at the appropriate time whenever I ask you to, any slight delay, your punishment will be doubled". I stood up and walked around."Rule number three, you are not allowed out of this house until your one month with me is complete".

"That's absurd, you can stop me from leaving if I want to, I have a grandmother, remember?". She said interrupting me.

" That's why I hired someone to take care of her, you belong to me now, I owe every being of you, so you are to do as I say, understand?". I said angrily and she turned her face away."Good, now the last rule, which is rule number four". I said and moved closer to her closing the gap between us, she pushed back a little"Don't...you...ever...ever... fall...in...love...with...me!". I stretched out the words and I could see the surprised and confusedly look on her face."Don't even think about it, because I will never look your way, you are not my type and I can never fall for you".

"Don't dream it, you are not my type either, I have a boyfriend". She said nonchalantly and I scoffed.

" Yeah right".

"If that is the rule, can you show me my room now?".

" Not so fast, and one last thing, don't ever go to my room without my permission". I said, "Follow me ".

I lead her upstairs and show her to the room a little bit far from mine.

" This is my room?".

"Yeah, I know is better than your entire house, so, yes, it's your room for a month, so, don't feel too comfortable".

"Yeah right"

"You have two minutes to unpack your things and get to work, make me something delicious". I said and walked away.

AURORA POV

I stared angrily at him as he stumbled out of my sight, I felt like giving him a hard kick from behind and breaking all of his bones, but I couldn't do that, I owe him my grandmother's life and also for paying my debts. I hesitate for a while and then walk inside, the room is cozy with an amazing interior design and an oversized bed, indeed it is much better than my house. I began to arrange my stuff to where it belonged, and after a while, I decided to take a nap.

I was deep in sleep when I heard someone yelling my name aggressively, I thought it was a dream. I opened my eyes slowly to see a furious gaze on me, I shrieked and roll over from the other side of the bed hitting my butt hard on the floor.

" Ouch!". I groan in pain.

"What do you think you are doing?". He asked rudely and I managed to stand up.

" Why are you in my room?".

"This is my house and I can do as I please".

" What do you want?".I asked frowning.

"Get me my lunch, this next time I come to your room and find you sleeping when you are supposed to be working you will be sorry". He said and stumbled out of the room.

" What a crazy man!". I said angrily and left for the kitchen, the kitchen was well-arranged and neat, I searched around the place and it was stuck with different foodstuff." Does he eat a lot?". I wondered and took a pasta and started the cooking.

Some minutes later, I was done with the cooking and I dished the food on the dining table, I left to his doorstep and knocked.

"What?". his voice came from the inside.

" The food is ready". I said and waited for his reply. "I ". I got interrupted.

" I heard you for the first time, get off my door!". He said rudely and left for the kitchen to tidy it up.

"So annoying". I grunted and started tidying up the place.

Suddenly, I heard him yell and I rushed to see what was going on, his gaze rested on me.

" What the hell is this?". He asked referring to the food on the table.

"Your meal". I replied.

" Did I ask for pasta?". he yelled.

"You didn't tell me what you want for lunch, so, I decided to make this one for you since is the easiest".

" Did I ask you to?".

"How am I supposed to know you don't want pasta".

" Why didn't you ask?". he said and I sighed tiredly at him."Take this thing away and make me something else".

"Fine, what should I prepare?".

" Make me a crispy deep-fried pork with rice and vegetables, I need them on this table in the next thirty minutes".

"What? You can't be serious, making that meal takes an hour".

" I don't care, get it done, now! Your time is ticking".

I stared hard at him and took the pasta away to the kitchen.

"Damn you!". I grunted.

" I heard that!". He voices out.

"I don't care!". I retorted and started preparing the meal he wanted.

An hour later, I was done preparing the meal and dished it in front of him on the dining table.

" I said thirty minutes and you took an hour".

"I am not a magician, OK? A meal like this doesn't take thirty minutes to prepare, but rather an hour or more".

" You are breaking the rules, I do the talking, not you, so whatever I say you must obey, understand?". He said.

"Am sorry". I turned to leave and he called me back.

" Where do you think you are going?".

"To my room of course, or do you expect to sit and watch you while you eat?". I asked unlikely.

" Exactly what you should do".

"Excuse me!".

" You are quite excused, you work for me and I owe you, so you will obey me". He said rudely.

"You are kidding right?".

" Do you see me smiling, so you will stand and watch me eat, you are not leaving until I am done". he said with so much command.

I sighed and I had to obey him, besides he was the boss and I was just a girl paying for the debt she owned. I stood watching him eat his food.

NARRATOR POV

Charles came to Aurora's house, he knocked on the door and Erica opened the door.

"Good Day, sir". Erica greeted politely.

" Who are you?".Charles asked surprisedly at her.

"Am Erica, I was hired to take care of grandma ".

" What? Where is Aurora?". he asked confusedly and Grandma came out and was surprised to see Charles.

"Charles?".

" Hello Grandma, how have you been?".He asked politely.

"What happened to you? You went missing for days". She said and then ushered him into the house.

Erica came over and offered him a glass of water before she went back to the kitchen.

" A lot happens". He said.

"What happened?".

" Well, some days back, Aurora came to me to cry for help about your health, because the doctor was demanding money for your surgery, I told her to give me time". He said and had a flashback.

Later that night, after Aurora came to Charles for help. Charles was getting ready to go, and he stood at the bus station waiting for the bus when suddenly a van drove in front of him, two guys came out and dragged him in, he struggled hard with them, but they hit him hard and he fell unconscious, they took him in and drove off.

Charles was brought to a building and dragged into a dark room, they tied him up on a chair, and soon, the two old men he made a deal with came over and ordered their boys to wake him up, they poured water on him and he regained consciousness.

👴"Long time no see boy".

Charles jerks immediately raises his face to them.

"Please don't kill me, the money you gave me, I haven't used it, I can return it to you". He said looking scared.

🧔" Don't be dramatic, we don't need the money anymore".

"Then what do you guys want?".

👴" The deal still stands, we want the girl, we got humiliated because of her, and she must pay for it".

"What?!".

🧔" Exactly what you heard, you can keep the money, we know we still owe you, and the money will be given to you in full if you bring the girl to us".

"No, no, no, I don't want to, you guys can keep your money, please just let me go, please!". he begged and they laughed.

" 👴Hell no! We never go back on our words, the deal still stands, if you don't bring the girl to us in the next forty-eight hours, you won't believe what is coming your way".

🧔"You heard us, get us the girl and you will be free".

"Please, I don't want to anymore, just take your money and let me go".

👴" Too late!".

🧔"We will keep you here until you agree with the deal, remember we got eyes on your mother if you try to be stubborn she will go down for it, same with your career".

"Please! I beg you, please!". He pleads.

They ignore his pleading and walk away, Charles starts to regret his actions, he wishes he had not made that deal with them, and now his life and that of his poor mother are involved.
