How did Emilia think about Chloe's return?

Emilia stared at the wedding ring on her hand, a little lost in thought.

For a moment, infinite regret welled up in her heart.

The whole night, Edwin didn't come back.

When she returned to the company, Susan's assistant ran over to tell her sadly.

"Emilia, Susan is crying. She has ceased to be the brand ambassador for the skin care lotion Borus Group advertised."

Emilia frowned.

She believed that Edwin was a reasonable person.

He should forgive Susan and let what happened yesterday pass.

If so, why was Susan substituted?

Emilia called Edwin's secretary, who told her hesitantly.

"Ms. Carter, replacing the brand ambassador is Mr. Borus' idea. The star in place of Susan is a friend of Ms. Kolb..."

Emilia banged down the phone.

When she found Susan, the latter cried miserably with red eyes.

"Emilia, I really know I was wrong. Is Mr. Borus still angry with me?"

The girl looked a little helpless.

After a pause, Emilia touched her hair, lowered her eyes, and promised her, "No, I will get your share of the work back."

After the meeting, Emilia went straight into Edwin's office.

When she entered, Edwin's indifferent and annoyed voice sounded.

"Why are you so careless? You just drank yourself into the hospital yesterday and still eat ice today. Chloe, it seems that your oversea experience is of no help in improving your lifestyle."

"Can you talk to me gently? It's because you pissed me off."

Emilia looked up and saw a thermos handed over to Chloe, who was drinking water angrily and cutely.

Seeing her coming, Chloe paused and said mockingly to Edwin, "Your wife is here, so I won't disturb the two of you."

She turned around and left. Edwin didn't take her angry words seriously and called her, "I'll ask the secretary to take you back. Have a good rest."

Chloe's expression softened.

Without speaking, Emilia lowered her eyes and played with her fingers.

When Chloe left, Edwin said gently, which was unusual for him, "What do you find me for?"

Emilia put aside the emotions in her heart, stared at him, and cut straight to the point, "Susan has ceased to be the brand ambassador."

Edwin frowned and said casually, "Someone else will replace her as the brand ambassador for that skin care product. And I will let her advertise another product."

"No." Emilia explained, "The superstition of the brand ambassador will have an impact on Susan's career. Only the best can survive in the entertainment circle. If this matter is known to all, Susan will probably fall into disfavor in the future."

"You seem to care about her."

Edwin stared at her with sharp and calm black eyes, and his tone was extremely indifferent.

Emilia was silent for a long time.

After a while, she regained her composure and said, "It is because she secretly took me in for a while when I was kicked out of the Carter family."

Back then, her parents passed away, and she was fostered at the home of her uncle Georg. As she grew older, Georg had a lust for her, and Emilia hated his lewd gaze most.

Susan was a naive little girl at that time, and her parents were away all year round. After the two met by chance, Susan secretly brought her into the house of the Wilson family.

"Emilia, you can stay here for a while."

Later, when Susan entered the entertainment circle, Emilia arranged for her to join her company, but Susan didn't recognize her.

Edwin didn't speak and just looked up at her quietly.

Unlike Chloe, Emilia's face had a bland and incredible beauty.

She was calm and indifferent, looking very ordinary, but her demeanor was aloof and stubborn. And people couldn't take their eyes off her.

"I can't let her advertise that product." Edwin withdrew his gaze and rejected.

"I only want her to be the brand ambassador for that product, which has been decided." Emilia insisted.

"Chloe insisted that her friend should be the brand ambassador for that product." Edwin calmly reminded her, "Emilia, I hope you can remember who you are."

After speaking, he paused again, "I didn't mean that..."

"I see." Emilia interrupted him, "However, I hope the company can make reasonable compensation for Susan's loss."

After speaking, she left the office without looking back.

The moment she turned around, Emilia couldn't suppress the mockery in her eyes.

Maybe she overestimated her position in others' hearts.

Chloe chose a coffee shop in good conditions.

"Edwin's taste has not changed at all. You and I are quite similar. Both are arrogant and stubborn by nature. He regards you as my substitute."

Emilia clenched her hands slightly and said nothing.

But, she could see Edwin's glance at her occasionally.

It was as if he were looking through her... at someone else.

Chloe disregarded her silence and only said lightly, "I have been in love with Edwin for five years, but we have been separated for three years. I love him very much. We had some misunderstandings three years ago but are now reconciled."

"Ms. Carter, if you don't want us to end up with mutual hostility, I hope you can leave him. You should know very well that he doesn't love you."

"He doesn't love you."

Chloe's words hurt Emilia like an arrow pierced into her marrow.

Emilia's heart seemed to be twitched.

She quickly raised her eyes calmly and looked at Chloe, saying in a cold voice.

"Since you are so sure about his love for you, why do you persuade me to leave him? Chloe, what are you afraid of?"
