I wasn't sure if what I heard is correct. I am Gordon Archer's mate? How is that even possible.

Sitting rigid on my spot, a girl from behind me shook me and Natalie whispered, "Jacinta, you have to go on the stage, everyone is waiting."

So it is true.

I numbly got up from my seat, clutching on to the navy blue blouse I wore, and then I started walking on the small path which led to the stairs of the stage. When I reached the stairs, I stopped and looked up at Gordon, who didn't even avert his gaze from the ground.

Oh god, please help me.

Taking few steps up, I reached the stage, and then I made my way to the middle, where Albert smiled at me warmly. Standing across from Gordon, I waited for him to say something, something which confirmed his acceptance, but I got nothing.

So I started, "I, Jacinta Frost, accept you, Gordon Archer, as my mate," no response, but when I looked up, I caught him staring at me, I should not say I caught him staring, because he was not ashamed to show it.

I looked down, and then the weird thing happened. Gordon's hand came to rest on my neck, and I flinched at the electrifying feeling which came from my instincts, when I stared up at him again, his eyes were narrowed.

What happened next was a blur to me. With a tilt of his head, his nose buried in the crook of my neck and I felt something sharp graze my neck. My eyes widened and I tried to push him away, all the while the crowed was on fire, shouting something, but I couldn't hear whatever they said, because in the next second, my attempts failed and I felt canines puncture my skin.

The scream that bubbled at the back of my throat died, I couldn't even squeal, all I could do was feel the blood draining from my body and the most amazing feeling take over me completely.

Power consumed me and an electricity buzzed through my being radiating from Gordon's body to mine. I groaned lowly in pleasure, but then the feeling went away quickly, leaving behind a buzzing sensation on my neck and everywhere on inside of my body.

My eyes which were shut tightly snapped open and I was struck in a daze, my eyes widened at what just took place seconds ago, I couldn't comprehend the feeling which took over me.

I was the sole attention of the crowed as they gasped and some people, such as Natalie who was sitting, even stood up from their seat.

This was not supposed to happen, was he allowed to do that?

I stared up at Alpha Gordon who glowered down at me, with those intense eyes, I turned into a puddle, but I couldn't forget what just happened.

"I, Gordon Archer, accept you, Jacinta Frost, as my mate," he muttered lowly, but everyone heard. I almost waited to hear him finish off with 'I don't have any other option anyway,' which I so badly wanted to say myself.

With a last stare, he walked down the stairs, got into a black car, and drove off.

He must be the first Alpha to mark his mate on the first meeting in front of a huge crowd, and just walk away like nothing happened.

"Ahm, we have just been informed that its the Dark Moon Pack's tradition for Alphas to mark their mate on the first meeting, I didn't know, I'm sorry," the last part was for me when he gave me a glimpse.

Fire was erupting inside of me, I couldn't move from my spot, and something danced in my vision. Warm liquid traced from my neck and disappeared into the neckline of my blouse, the pain that I didn't feel when I was being drained of my blood came full force, and I almost fell when I tried to descend the stairs at the end of the stage.

Suddenly some guards in suit and tie came rushing to my side, whom I could smell out to be from the Dark Moon Pack, and I was lifted off the ground. Natalie came running towards me, I could see her from the corner of my vision, but the guards stopped her in the way.

Last thing I saw were golden lights in the sky, and then the world went dark.
