Chapter 5 Chapter 5

Everyone was gaping at what just occurred between Carrie and I. Why? Because me and her are the 'perfect couple'. The couple everyone wants to be with or be like so snapping at each other broke that image even if for a moment. Not that I cared. I'm actually glad because now, no one would look up to us and try to be like us, I hate being in the limelight. I sighed and grabbed my things, walked out of the now-silent cafeteria, off school campus and into the woods that happened to be near the school.

I walked deeper into the forest, just to be safe that no one would see and stripped off my clothes and put them in a pile next to a tree and shifted. I felt the recognizable sound of cracking bones and a few seconds later, I was a chocolate brown wolf with gleaming blue eyes.

I howled in excitement to be able to be free of any expectations of being Alpha or the 'golden boy'. That's what I love about being able to shift. You can forget all of your troubles and just run. As I ran, here, there, and everywhere, I ran into another wolf. I could tell it was a female by the way she stance was more feminine, not to sound sexist. She was in a clearing that was basically in the middle of the forest. She was leaping in the air, trying to catch a butterfly. I chuckled to myself, quietly, making sure she doesn't hear me. Her leaps were graceful and lean. When the butterfly finally flew away, she stalked over to the a pond I didn't notice was there. That's when I finally looked at her for real.

She had midnight, black hair, and her eyes were a stunning color of green. The way the sun shined on her black fur was gorgeous. I sniffed the air, trying to recognize her scent but I couldn't, she smelt like lavender and lilac, it was intoxicating... I shook my head of those thoughts. It could be that she is a rogue. I started backing away, not wanting a fight with her, but as I was turning around, a twig snapped under my paw. Shit, I'm dead. She looked surprised to find me here but then smirked, well at least I think it was...Her facial features told me that she wanted me to come closer, to get a better look at her opponent, I guess. As I stepped out of the dark forest, she looked at me and growled slightly. What did I do? I went into a laying position to show her I didn't want a fight, which by the way is not something most men should do but my pride was the last thing to be worried about right now. Her head cocked to one side and her eyes studied me, making sure I wasn't lying. After about what seemed like forever, she finally stopped looking at me and went running towards the edge of the forest. Was she leaving? As she got to the where the clearing meets the forest, she turned back around and I saw her green eyes twinkle with mischief. Uh-oh. And with that she bounded into the woods, leaving me gaping after her disappearing form.

I sat at that clearing, still staring. I can't believe she got me, an Alpha, to lay down to her respects! It's insane, I mean come on! This girl must have got some kind of magic spell over me or something! Maybe she is a witch..No, wait, witches only reside in Ohio and Canada...

I mean, that wolf was, absolutely amazing but she seemed like she knew me and something in the back of my mind, it's telling me I know her too. But why can't I figure it out? She was familiar but I think if I had met her before, I would have remembered her.

Wow. Was all I could say. She is amazing, yet I didn't even know who she was. When I realized it was getting dark. Man the first day was a bust and I missed most of my classes. My mom would kill me if I'm late for dinner too, I took off into the forest, the way I came. But when I got the to place I left my clothes, I noticed something..

My clothes were gone.

Just great..
