Chapter 3 Chapter 2 Injured

When Layla woke up again, she was in a sanatorium.

She was wearing a large blue long-sleeved shirt with a number plate "No. 268, No. 2 Women's Sanatorium" on her chest and she had to lift the loose trousers of the same color from time to time.

Layla never expected that Krish would throw her here, and it would be her life stain. Her grandfather and parents had always served the public and were upright, but she, in order to get a divorce, fell into the to such an extent.

Layla thought, "Grandpa, Dad, Mom, you must be very disappointed in me."

Layla leaned numbly in front of the window. She lived in a separate room. She learned from the nurse that this room was originally a utility room and was specially set aside for her. Except for one or two female nurses who had seen her face, almost no one touched her, and she was completely isolated. The rest of the patients all sleep in collective dormitories.

Layla thought, "Krish must want me to feel lonely, so he arranged this on purpose."

Three years ago, Layla passed out drunk at the birthday party of Collin Joan who was Krish's grandpa, and when she woke up, she was on Krish's bed. She didn't remember exactly what had happened.

She just remembered Collin asking Krish to come up with a solution. Krish knelt on the ground, and his slender figure set off his pride and unyielding. He said he would marry Layla, and she agreed.

But after marriage, Krish was kind to Layla only in the first year. In the next two years, he suddenly became extremely indifferent, and he was like a stranger to her.

Layla had never felt so desolate before. She found that when people were sad to a certain extent, the tears were frozen along with the body and mind, and would never flow out.

Every day, Layla could only look at the palm-sized sky outside the window dully, wondering what Krish was doing now.

Layla thought, "Is he still angry about her or he has completely forgotten about his Mrs. Joan who was thrown into the sanatorium by him, just like she was thrown into that luxurious and empty villa in the past two years?"

In fact, Layla could pretend to have an extramarital affair to break away from this emotionless marriage. However, the Joan family was too powerful and famous. She couldn't afford to lose her and the Joan family's reputation in exchange for her freedom. So it took Layla almost two years to make such a determination, just to divorce Krish quietly.

There was a dead silence all around.

Such an environment was not suitable for treatment at all. Even normal people would not be able to bear it if they were locked here.

After staying here for nearly two months, Layla finally couldn't help shouting at the nurse who made daily inspections, "I want to go out! Tell Krish to let me out!"

In fact, Layla pretended to be ill in front of Krish at that time, but she didn't expect that Krish would lock her up in such a place and never show up again.

Every day, her fear deepened, and the painful cries of the surrounding patients stimulated her nerves again and again. Layla was afraid that maybe Krish didn't intend to let her out at all.

She shouted, "I've recovered a long time ago, why don't you let me out?" Through the iron gate, Layla could see the nurse's expressionless face.

The nurse left as usual. Layla didn't see Krish, but she saw an unexpected person.
