Fear shook inside me when Alpha Conall's crimson eyes focused on me. "Ah, the toy is finally broken, I see."
Alpha Alaric looks bored. His eyes rose to see me. "Take a seat," is all he says, and uncontrollably, I did.
"Why would it sit with us?" Fights Alpha Conall. Alpha Zev behaves like he is not here at all. In fact, he is almost done with his bacon, eggs, and milkshake. "That is degrading of your friends, Alaric."
"We are here for business, and you will refer to me by my title." Demands the Alpha of all Alphas. He seems different-unplayful and dead serious. "Now, talk. Why are you both still here and not back home?
If there's much I know about these kings, it's that Alpha Zev and Alpha Conall are besties, more like brothers.
"There is an attack again, and this time, it isn't just the Hunters. We have our opponents; they are now joining forces. They and hunters are building an army to take us out through the roots." It doesn't sit well with Alpha Alaric.
"Were they werewolves or rogues?"
"They are rogues, more of an army of lone and lost wolves. They are assembling with hunters. It remains so strange that hunters would join forces with one of us just to get back at the Alphas." He finishes and drains his drink. I watch as a human girl steps forward to pour him another.
While they talk about the attacks and how they think the rogues aren't making the decisions by themselves, some royal werewolves are wanting to take the throne from Alpha Alaric for reasons I do not know. I was served, too, and I can tell Alpha Conall wasn't okay with it. He could kill me right on this spot if he had the chance. I would not mind.
Also, I see Alpha Alaric's drink. It's different. It's crimson red and thick. It looks like blood. I'm not certain.
A whelp calls my attention back, and I see the human girl's hair being grabbed by Alpha Conall. I think she mistakenly poured the drink onto the table.
"Will you like some fresh blood, right from the source?" Asks Alpha Conall, directed towards Alpha Alaric. I frown at the meaning of that. These wankers drink blood now?
When he pinned his pinky claw against the young girl's neck, I lost it. I wanted to yell at him for being the bastard son of a thousand fathers and for having fucked his mother like the brainless chick that her son has become too, but I couldn't move. Alpha Zev is useless here. He is not even here, I would say.
Alpha Alaric acts like nothing is happening, too.
Anger bubbles inside me. The girl is begging and in pain.
"Swear, you're a coward. How dare he hit an innocent girl, and you wouldn't stop him?" I yelled inside my head, hoping he would hear.
"Stop this fruitless act, Ana." He tells me, and I scoff inwardly.
"No, you stop this madness. You're a coward who can't command his subjects. You have all the powers, yet you remain stupid. If Alpha Farkas was here, he would have done something like he did the other time while you watched like some helpless kid who can't save anything."
"Stop!" He screams Alpha Alaric and slams his hand against the table. The frame cracks up, and the edges break.
I shudder at his act, and Alpha Conall stops his act as well. He snickers, knowing Alpha Alaric isn't angry at him specifically.
"The both of you will return to your affairs. Protect it until I arrange a meeting with other royals and know who's plotting against us. Then, we can all talk." Alpha Alaric stood up, and I did, too.
He leaves the room afterward, saying nothing more. We are now walking down the hallway, and it is silent regardless of the slaves walking past. Humans have learned to move like they are not inexistent, because if we are seen, nothing but torture reaches us.
Suddenly, at a corner, Alpha Alaric grabs me by the neck, and I am against the wall. My back hurts, and he doesn't look any nicer.
His jaw twitches in fury, and I am wincing from pain. "You will never again have a voice of your own, or else I will break it so bad you would wish you had never even murmured in the least."
Oh, he wishes to act like a man now? I can control my own body now.
I chuckle. "A joke you are. You brought me to a corner to teach me a lesson, not in front of your sadistic friends? As I have said earlier and would not take back, you're just a child who thinks his age makes him a grown-up in the most."
Alpha Alaric grins and scoffs. "You're very determined to die." He tells. "That is why you try to be this bitter."
"Ah. I'm not being a hypocrite here. Why are you who you are? You rule with fear, but I do not fear. Now, what?" I scream at him, and he is about to talk back when I hear a sweet feminine voice.
