Chapter 4 Rebirth

Upon returning from the nightclub, Emma hurriedly took a shower. She lay on her beloved bed, holding the black card she took from David's wallet. This man was truly unpredictable, but he was the one who would help Emma seek revenge.

Emma recalled the scene just before her death. At that time, she had returned from studying abroad, complying with her family's intention to arrange a marriage. The predetermined marriage filled Emma with resentment. She loved Mark, but he married her only for the wealth of the Wilson family.

FLASHBACK

The car was navigating through the heavy rain on a difficult road, carrying Emma, her parents, and Mark back to the mansion.

"Dad? The road seems challenging."

"Yes, you and your mother should sit carefully."

Normally, the family's private driver would take them, but today, Emma's father insisted on driving himself. Suddenly, the brakes failed, and the speed increased rapidly. Outside, heavy rain made the road even more challenging.

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa"

The car, without brakes, plunged straight into the mountain wall. Emma was terrified. She only remembered the gruesome scene of her parents. Her father's weak gaze at her before closing his eyes haunted her. When she opened her eyes again, she found herself in the hospital.

"Mom, Dad, where are you?" Emma panicked, sitting up.

"Emma, calm down a bit."

Mark comforted her beside Emma. At this point, reporters had arrived, asking numerous questions. Emma didn't care about that; she just wanted to know where her parents were. However, Mark didn't provide her with any information.

A few days later, Mark brought Emma back to the Green mansion. It was then that Emma learned both her parents had died in that accident. Mark portrayed himself as a caring husband, but, in reality, he confined Emma to a room, not allowing her to go out.

"Emma, you should sign and transfer all the family assets to me."

"Dream on, you despicable person. What have you done?"

Mark stood in front of Emma, laughing loudly, with two tall figures behind him.

"Cut her tendons for me."

"Dare you."

Emma stared at Mark with determination. The two tall figures approached, tied Emma up, and then took out a knife to cut her legs.

"Mark, you scum. I won't spare you, even if I die."

"Sooner or later, you'll die anyway."

Mark laughed loudly, looking at Emma's blood-stained body. Emma's legs were now immobile. Despite the intense pain, she didn't shed a tear.

"You're just a dog of the William family."

Although her legs were in excruciating pain and blood wouldn't stop flowing, Emma, with defiant eyes, retorted to his mockery. She never expected to be so wretched. She had married Mark for her family and love before, and now she only wanted to kill him.

Hearing this, Mark became even more furious, approaching to strangle Emma. His fierce, red-eyed gaze was extremely menacing.

"You'd better keep your mouth shut. Your family's accident was arranged by me. Currently, everyone thinks you've gone crazy, utterly worthless."

After saying that, Mark adjusted his mood and released the grip on Emma's neck.

"Once I get your fortune, I'll kill you. But for now, you can't die yet."

Mark stood up without saying a word and left the room. The room immediately plunged back into darkness. Emma sat there, staring blankly. The pain in her legs was nothing compared to the pain in her heart. She truly felt dead inside.

Back to reality, Emma found herself in her room five years ago. She walked to the window, where the moonlight shone upon her.

"Mark, I will make you pay. I will make you lose everything, and your life won't be worth living."

Mark had been ruthless, killing Emma's entire family in the accident, but she survived. He imprisoned and severed her legs, making her unable to walk. After taking Emma's wealth, Mark killed her and set the house on fire. Everyone believed Emma committed suicide after her parents' death, unaware of Mark's conspiracy.

Emma was murdered in her own home, and waking up again, she found herself on Mount Denali. The scene was from five years ago, and Emma, against all odds, came back to life. She had traveled from the future to the past to correct her mistakes and seek revenge against the villain, Mark William. She aimed to make Mark and his family pay for what they did to her.

"The death of your brother was all part of that plan; currently, he is still alive."

Before Emma died, Mark revealed to her all of his secrets and conspiracies. However, Mark did not anticipate Emma coming back to life from the past. This time, Emma had to find her missing brother, who had been gone for many years, and unravel the enormous secret called the Jones family.

The scene from that time sent shivers down Emma's spine again, and the more she thought about it, the more her heart ached.

"Emma, you truly are pitiful."

"Shut up, Mark. You're despicable."

Mark tightened his grip on Emma's arm, glaring at her. Emma's legs had lost sensation by now. Exhausted, she just wanted to let go of everything, to join her parents.

"I can be even more ruthless. I will take your family's entire wealth. I will kill everyone you love."

Emma pressed her hand hard, making fresh blood gush out. She wished the heart-wrenching emotions would disappear, but that was impossible.

"Your family's car, I arranged for it to crash. Did you think it happened naturally?"

"You're truly wicked."

Mark laughed louder; that was who he was. He wanted to witness bloodshed, the death of Emma's entire family, but unexpectedly, Emma's life became larger than he thought, and she didn't die.

Mark lived with Emma for five years, only to wait for the opportunity today. Mark had great ambitions, so he always wore a fake facade, making everyone believe in his authenticity.

"Mark, you've done too many evil things. I will kill you."

"Wait for the day you have the courage to do that."

FLASHBACK ENDED

In her past life, Emma was harmed so severely that it was indescribable. She didn't have the chance to kill Mark because she trusted him too much. When Emma discovered the truth, her parents and relatives were already dead, and Mark had killed her too. Mark was the reason Emma came back to life, and now, she lived again to kill him, living with no belief in love. Emma only trusted herself and would make Mark lose everything.
