Chapter 5 HIER

Evangeline POV.

"You, you are working for my mom," I muttered, shocked by what I had read. Confirming the numbers to be hers.

"She asked me to look over you while monitoring your step mother, your father doesn't know of these, no one knows, except us," He whispered.

"So how can I believe what you are saying is the truth," I demanded, my hand crossed. "Ask your mom and get back to me," He replied firmly.

Without saying a word, I drove off, heading to meet my father. It wasn't immediately after school but yes, I was done with it for today, arriving at his office, I immediately frown, spotting grandfather's car really close to where I had parked.

And then finding him at the reception. "Shouldn't you be in school?" He demanded. "Dad said I should come," I explained.

"My son asked you to come while you are supposed to be in school?" He asked, a puzzle yet disgusting frown played on his face.

"Well, go home, because you are not welcome here," he snapped. "I'm his daughter, I'm always welcome," I challenge.

"Please, the daughter of a peasant," he mumbled. I could only sigh and walk pass, dad warned me not to make any exchange with him as it would be a set up, a way I can be denied the right to his company.

I wanted to head upstairs, to my dad's office, but I found myself being held back, a hand being raised up.

It happened so fast that I could only close my eyes, waiting for it to hit my face. However, it stops, I slowly open them to find dad, holding onto his father's hand, his eyes filled with anger.

"You can mess me and I will take it but if your hand crosses over to my daughter, I promise you father it will be the last time you have one," He threatened, pushing the hands away.

"She bewitched you, just like her gold digger mother,...," Grandfather wanted to say but was cut short by dad yelling at him.

"You think you want to divorce Catherine, well go ahead but I will name Megan heir and I will disown you, this company is still mine," Grandfather challenged.

"Wrong, you gave me the company when I married Catherine but now, I gave it to Eva, I have willed ever single thing you own and everything I own to her and from now on, she is the new CEO of the company, dont think of raising hand again, you can't make Megan heir, you can't take the company back and most especially I can now finalize the divorce with Catherine," Dad announced, shocking everyone present including me.

"And one more thing, the DNA test came out negative, meaning Megan nor Kelvin is my child, so go and question your favorite daughter in law of how it happened because I'm not doing a fifth dna test to confirm if it's true," He yelled, taking my hands and dragging me with him while I promise the news.

The moment we got to his office, his glare softened as he looked at me. "I wanted to tell you privately, I didn't mean for you to let it be known like that," He said calmly as he sat down.

"How did you know Megan wasn't your child?" I manage to ask. "Through Ethan," he replied.

"Huh," I stammered. "Well from your mom first, she said she got information of their affair, when I called her to complain about Ethan and me needing to change your school, she said Ethan is with her and so I shouldn't worry," he explained.

"How they met is still a mystery but your mom won't tell me, she hides the connection to make sure no one finds out," he mumbled.

"And the company, why are you giving it to me?" I asked, settling down. "Are you not my beloved daughter?" He asked back, the look on his eyes made me understand he just wanted my forgiveness, for everything I witnessed, for what he put me through while growing up.

"But I'm still young," I brought up. "Trust me, you can handle it, beside I will still be here, holding it till you are ready to own it," he says, his hands on me.

"But then why are you here early?" He asked. "Got pissed at school, I saw Ethan at our house last night and I was hurt. He was working for Catherine and in school, he tried using the public speaker to address me, so I left," I roughly explained.

"Well now you owe him an apology now," dad grinned and I groaned in response. "Well, you can be friends," He went on.

"Friend not boyfriend and no sex at all," dad warns, his face becoming scary. However and thankfully a knock at the door distracted him, his attention shifted away from me, looking pleased.

I turned to find my mom, coming in with a bag in her hands. "Your dad said you might not have eaten much so I brought these for you," She handed over the bag as she gently sat down.

"But mom, why are you here?" I asked, opening the bag to find a flask. "Your mom is returning home with us, today," dad proudly said.

"With Catherine still around?" I asked, still in shock. "She will be leaving today," he answered.

"Seems like a lot of drama," I mumbled. "Wanna watch?" Dad invited with a grin, my mom called out his name but he was more interested in getting my response than worrying about upsetting my mom.

"Nope, I need to talk to Ethan before school closes, so bye," I declined, standing up and about to leave when it hit me, my mom was looking different, plus she was wearing a gown.

My eyes caught her stomach while my hands help straighten out the gown, revealing a bump, a big one.

"What the heck?" I exclaimed with my father laughing. "Your brother coming really soon," he proudly said.

"And I plan on announcing it today," he added. "So wait, not only is Catherine leaving but she have to be informed of your pregnancy?" I asked utterly astonished.

"Are you sure you want to miss tonight?" Dad asked again, smiling widely at me.
