Chapter 4 You Can Unzip It

Kimberly had been living in her new place at Skyline Apartments for just a few days before she decided it was too large for her liking, so she moved in with Millie.

Nonetheless, Charlie's hired housekeeper kept showing up to clean the place regularly.

When Charlie got to the door, he paused, realizing he couldn't remember the password.

Embarrassed but unwilling to confess, he turned to Kimberly, who was nearby, and said, "Go ahead. Open the door for us."

Kimberly couldn't help but inwardly roll her eyes. After pressing a few numbers, the door swung open.

They were greeted by an interior that screamed of elegance and luxury, making Charlie feel slightly out of place. It had been ages since his last visit.

He glanced around before making his way toward the stairs.

Midway, he noticed Kimberly frozen in place by the door. Raising an eyebrow, he called out, "Hey, come on over."

Kimberly didn't know Charlie well, but she was familiar with the whispers about him.

He was the wealthy CEO of GK Group, an heir to the Hussain fortune, with looks that could rival any movie star. Yet, his reputation was that of someone cold and hard to approach.

Despite her reservations, Kimberly started following him.

With each step, her heart raced quicker, almost as if it was trying to leap out of her chest.

The master bedroom door swung open. Charlie lifted his hand to switch on the old-fashioned crystal chandelier, bathing the room in light.

Though the master bedroom was unoccupied, the housekeeper maintained it meticulously, ensuring it was dust-free and that the bed linens were always fresh and clean.

Kimberly paused at the doorway, about to speak, but Charlie quickly turned, pulling her inside.

As the door shut, Kimberly found herself pressed against it before she could resist.

The chill from the door brought her to her senses. She looked up to see Charlie's intense and unsettling gaze.

Leaning against the door with one hand, he gazed down at her, a slight smirk on his face. "Black. Interested in taking a closer look?"

His breath, cool and minty, hit her face. Kimberly, caught off guard, blushed deeply. She tried to move her wrist, saying, "Let me go."

But Charlie caught her falling hand and pressed it against his belt, his grin sinister. "The bar was too crowded. It wasn't the right place to take it off."

His whisper tickled her ear, his tone deep and seductive. "Now, you can see for yourself."

With that, he guided her hand to unbuckle his belt. A swift movement later, the sound of metal hitting the floor echoed.

Kimberly's cheeks burned with shame, her eyes watering from the embarrassment. She hadn't imagined Charlie would act so shameless.

Yet, Charlie kept smiling, leading her through the process. "Go on, unzip it."

As Kimberly's hand brushed against the icy metal, a rush of adrenaline surged through her, leaving her mind in a haze.

She shoved Charlie back with a fierce glare, snapping, "Enough."

Was she always this quick to get angry? Charlie wondered.

With a cold sneer, he didn't hold back, mocking, "What's with the act? Trying to play the innocent now?"

Kimberly found herself breathing heavily. She had hoped they could at least keep things amicable, even without love, but clearly, she was mistaken.

He showed kindness and affection to others but reserved only scorn for her.

"I'm going to take a shower." Charlie, noticing her frustration, turned his back to her and provocatively suggested, "Feel free to join me if you change your mind."

"No way!" Kimberly retorted through clenched teeth.

Catching a glimpse of him, she noticed he had already removed his shirt, showcasing his strong back.

When he turned around, the definition of his toned abs led her eyes downward, igniting a whirlwind of thoughts.
