Chapter 3 The past returns

In the days that followed, Jessica found herself consumed by memories of her past relationship. Her ex-boyfriend's persistent attempts to reach out to her had reignited emotions she thought she had long buried. There was a moment of silence before her ex let out a heavy sigh. "I understand. I just needed to hear it from you. I'll respect your wishes, Jessica. I want you to be happy."

As she hung up the phone, Jessica felt a weight lift off her shoulders. Finally, she had closure, and she was ready to fully commit to her relationship with Alex.
