Emily was prepared to address her grievances with them one by one, yet she wouldn't mind if she could settle them all at once.

Kyson narrowed his eyes.

His instincts, sharpened by years in the cutthroat business world, advised caution until he could fully ascertain Emily's strategy.

With her unexpected return, he sensed a transformation in her. She seemed wholly altered, her presence now carrying a somber intensity reminiscent of her father's relentless and shrewd nature.

Attempting to mask his unease, he offered a rigid smile. "Emily, we can move out, but we'll need some time. Our belongings are numerous here."

Observing Kyson revert to his duplicitous manner, similar to how he had acted around her father, Emily responded with a frosty scoff.

She recognized his assumption that she would exhibit the same leniency towards her kin as her father had.

"Okay, I'll grant you that time," she said.

She ceased her pressure on them since she had already reclaimed her place. They wouldn't live comfortably under her roof anyway.

As she made her way to her room, a vase obstructed her path. She picked it up and inspected it. Kyson seized the opportunity to approach, attempting to flatter Emily.

"Emily, this vase was quite the find, purchased at a high price. I've cherished it for long. But should it catch your fancy, it's yours," Kyson said.

With a derisive smirk curling her lips, Emily flung the vase aside, where it shattered upon impact.

Kyson winced at the loss, only to be met with Emily's dismissive words. "It's just a replica," she said.

The mansion settled into silence as the night deepened.

Fresh from her shower, her hair still damp, Emily slipped into a simple outfit and went to her parents' bedroom. There, the portraits of her father and mother rested on the table, capturing their charisma and grace.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she drew near, her voice breaking. "Mom, Dad, I've returned home."

The voice on the other end of the line was familiar, belonging to the man with sunglasses, her best friend, Nolan White. His words carried a hint of hesitation. "There's something I'm not sure if I should share with you."

Emily's voice carried a hint of impatience. "Go ahead, tell me."

Nolan's response was direct. "Your ex-husband is getting married. He's set to wed Natalia in just four days."

Upon hearing this, a visceral sensation of constriction enveloped Emily's heart, beating with sharp discomfort.
