Chapter 3 Jasmin's Wish was Granted

For the following three months, Sassy devoted herself to mastering the art of self-defense. It was unclear what the matron had done, but it was evident that her efforts paid off since no one dared to bully her again. Sassy savored the newfound peace, relishing in the knowledge that while her peers still avoided her, they no longer tormented her.

Even Murphy, who once derived pleasure from harassing her, began to ignore her. Though he occasionally threw a snide comment her way, he never again laid a hand on her, that is, until one fateful day...

Sassy sat alone at her table in the cafeteria, observing as the new girl in her class attempted to join her peers at a nearby table, only to be humiliated and driven away. Intrigued by the scene, she was surprised when the girl made her way towards her table.

"Why are you sitting alone?" the girl inquired.

"They wouldn't let me sit with them. They said I stink," she replied with a dejected tone.

"Typical," Sassy scoffed. "You can sit here if you want."

"Thank you," the girl replied, her voice laced with gratitude.

The new girl brought out her lunch box, and Sassy was taken aback by the sheer quantity of food within it. She briefly regretted her decision to allow the girl to sit with her.

Noticing Sassy's gaze, the girl kindly offered, "Would you like some?"

Sassy instinctively declined, "No, no, no, I'm alright."

"Don't be shy. I can share it with you," the girl persisted, a warm smile spreading across her face.

Sassy hesitated before finally declining once more, "No, thank you. I'm just a bit surprised, do you usually eat this much?"

"Yeah, I do. My mum is a chef. She cooks for the Alpha's family. So, we always eat varieties. I love it because the food is always so colorful and tasty." The girl explained.

"I see," Sassy murmured, impressed by the girl's explanation of her lunch. "It sounds lovely."

"How about your mum?" The girl asked.

"Oh..u..I'm...I'm an orphan. I live in the orphanage."

"I'm sorry," the girl apologized profusely.

"Jasmine," as she stretched her hand to give Sassy a handshake.

"I'm Sassy."

"It's alright," Sassy replied, forcing a sad smile. Her eyes suddenly caught sight of Murphy entering the cafeteria.

"How do you deal with him?" Sassy asked, her tone tinged with frustration.

Jasmine laughed.

"You mean Murphy? I never told anyone this, but I have a crush on him." Jasmine said and Sassy's eyes widened.

"You what? On him? But why?" Sassy asked. She wondered why anyone would have a crush on Murphy.

"I don't know why. There's just something about him."

"Does he know about it?"

"No, he doesn't; he sees me as his servant. I'm afraid he'll never find out about my feelings," Jasmine replied and turned to stare at Murphy.

"He might be your mate, who knows?" Sassy said and laughed.

"What if he's yours?" Jasmine asked.

For the first time, Sassy thought about it. What if the mate she had been wishing for all these while was Murphy?

She immediately shook her head.

"Eww. I'd reject him ASAP. The Moon Goddess won't make such a mistake." Sassy said with a look of disdain.

"Do you hate him that much?" Jasmine inquired feeling a little bit worried.

"He's a bully. He hits people, and no one is stopping him." Sassy let out.

"Oh, that. He hits me too. Despite my feelings for him, I'd love to see him get a good beating from someone." Jasmine muttered and Sassy smirked.

"Really? I guess I might be that person."

"You? How do you intend to do that?" Jasmine asked laughing.

"Well, just watch out," assured Sassy.

"It would be more satisfying if he's beaten up by a girl; most especially, you," Jasmine wished as she gave Sassy a satisfying look.

Sassy only nodded and glanced at Murphy again.

Sassy enjoyed talking to Jasmine, as it was the first time a girl her age was genuinely nice to her, but that might not last for long...

As school ended for the day, Jasmine kindly offered to escort Sassy back to the orphanage. While they strolled down the street, they stumbled upon Murphy attempting to wrest a bicycle from a young boy, who appeared frightened and helpless.

"Goodness gracious! That's terrible," Jasmine exclaimed, her eyes wide with shock.

Sassy stood frozen in place, transfixed by the scene unfolding before her. While the other students ignored the situation, Sassy felt a sudden urge to intervene.

"Let's go home," Jasmine said nudging her, but Sassy didn't move.

She shrugged off Jasmine's hand and matched towards Murphy.

"Sassy no!" Jasmine shrieked behind her, but Sassy ignored her.

"Let go of him!" Sassy fumed.

Murphy wondered who dared to confront him. He turned to see who it was and saw Sassy glaring at him.

"It's you." He said and laughed.

"Let him go now," Sassy demanded.

Murphy looked around before walking up to her.

"And what if I don't? You're gonna cry to your mummy? Oh, that's right. You don't have one." He said and his friends laughed.

Sassy frowned, feeling a sense of rage and almost losing control.

"I dare you to say that again." She roared.

Murphy was taken aback. He was a little scared now. He saw how she was vibrating and he moved back. Other students were beginning to surround them. It seemed they had been waiting for the day he would have an open confrontation with someone. It was finally happening and of all people, it was the weird girl.

"I..I.. said you don't have a mother," Murphy repeated. He couldn't afford to embarrass himself as people were watching.

He didn't have time to even think as the next thing he felt was his feet leaving the ground.

He looked down and saw Sassy glaring at him, her eyes bright yellow.

His heart skipped a beat. He had never seen something like that before.

Sassy felt external forces controlling her. She didn't know what she was doing anymore. She threw Murphy down and moved back a little.

Murphy crawled back trembling.

Sassy was still glaring at him and her eyes were still fiery.

"What's wrong with her?" Came different voices from the growing crowd, but Sassy couldn't even hear them.

She felt an unusual strength in her.

Her fingers were beginning to look like claws.

Was she transforming?

She walked towards Murphy and punched him thrice in his face.

She picked him up again and flung him to the wall.

The students were initially happy about Murphy's downfall, but now they were scared. If Sassy wasn't stopped, she would kill him.

"Someone stop her," Jasmine yelled.

Sassy's wolf was taking over her.

She groaned and picked up Murphy again.

Murphy was bleeding all over.

He shook in fear. He was so scared, he couldn't control his bladder. He urinated on himself.

Sassy gave him another series of thorough beatings before some teachers came to his aid.

"Let him go." One of the teachers said.

Sassy didn't even hear them.

Beta Leo had heard of the issue going on and was already in the school. He was glad the rascal had received some good beating, but it was time to rescue him.

He transformed into his wolf form and ran towards them. He pushed Sassy away and barred his teeth at her.

Sassy sat on the floor in a daze.

She didn't know what she had done, but she knew it was bad.

While Murphy was being carried out of the school premises, Sassy quietly walked away.

When she stepped into school the next day, she felt like the whole world was watching her. Everyone avoided her including Jasmine.

Murphy was still in bad shape and was unable to come to school.

Sassy ignored everything around her, as she never actually cared. No one dared to bully her again and it was okay.

Even when Murphy resumed, he never spoke to her again.

He instead invested his time into telling everyone she was a monster and how scary she was.

Oh well...
