Chapter 9 The price to pay..

Padanaram was set to leave to the boundaries of her kingdom with Mayes.

"You know wherever you go Dad will, who's gonna take care of this kingdom?" Ramos yelled.

"You,it's high time you take responsibilities" She says.

"When are you going to return?"

"In three days time Ram,not more than"

In the past few weeks Ramos had been burying himself in learning about being King so as to numb the pain of losing his sister and Padanaram was well aware of this.

She was not the least satisfied that she had to loose one child for the other one to become responsible.

My Dawn the next day Padanaram and Laban had arrived at the Witch Queen's castle and just like Sophia had said they had found it rather easily.

The gates to the castle where wide open achieve welcoming them and there was this eerily silence in the whole castle that even a pin drop could be heard.

Padanaram's clanking of heels where what alerted the Witch Queen of their presence or so they thought as they came to a big hall supposedly the palour even though there where no furnitures.

"What brings the King and Queen here?" Diane's voice echoes.

"It's a pleasure seeing you" Padanaram says.

Laban lookes at the Witch Queen suspiciously,it was clear that he didn't trust her much less like her lack of courtesy and respect for them.

"as you can see there's no furniture here so it obviously means no guest is invited or welcomed here" Diane says.

Padanaram looks at Diane closely.

The bags under her gorgeous eyes gave her away, just as the other Witches in the towers where mourning she realized so was the Witch Queen as well.

Probably for a different reason, her retirement would be pushed forward or might never happen.

"How do you stay here all alone?" Padanaram asks changing the topic.

"Price to pay as the Queen Witch"

"Who's going to succeed you now?" Laban asks.

Padanaram couldn't help but glare at her husband,he was always one to get straight to the point but he didn't know when to be a little withdrawn.

"I have no idea" Diane shrugs.

"So you haven't gotten any prophecy?"Laban asks.

"I haven't"

"And you say you're a Queen witch, you could have even seen ahead of my daughter's death" Laban mocks.

"Laban, enough" Padanaram says.

"You're right, but there's one thing I've seen" Diane says.

"What?" Padanaram asks.

"You both made a wrong decision leaving your kingdom, our enemies have been plotting and you made their plans easier" Diane says.

"Are you just going to waste our time?" Laban asks.

"Am not,am just going to say,do tell Leah that she is not to worry, the Witches will be fine" She says.

"You say that because you already have a solution don't you?"

"I don't but fate sure does"

"You have to stop misleading and speaking in riddles to us,come clear Queen Diane, who's the next Queen?" Laban asks.

"You've both met her your majesties"

"Have we?" Padanaram asks

"yes, the ancestors have decided to make history in her time" Diane says smiling
