Chapter 5 Know Your Stand

It was evening, the sun already down and a chilling breeze blew around the place. Alpha Luciano was fast asleep while his door slowly cracked open. With his special abilities, he could sense the dark aura but when he had swiftly gotten up from the bed, he saw nothing. He looked over to his left and that was when he noticed his closed window was now open.

He went ahead to shut it before leaving the room.

He sent for Beta Chris, which about ten minutes later, showed up with a cup of whiskey.

"You sent for me, Alpha" He spoke, gulping down his drink.

"Yes, I did. I had a very troublesome dream" He said and Beta Chris nodded in response. He narrowed his eyebrows, expecting Beta Chris to say something but instead, he continued drinking.

"Didn't you hear what I said?" He asked, raising his voice.

"Keep down, I wasn't in your dream. Don't eat me raw" He hissed.

"You bet I would" He licked his canine and Beta Chris swallowed it.

"So, in your dreams, what exactly happened?"

"I don't know...it didn't really feel like a dream, I mean, I knew someone was in my room and then, when I woke up, I didn't see anyone!" He sighed.

"Are you sick? I mean, you would need the royal doctor!" Beta Chris suggested.

"So now you're calling me a pup, who doesn't know when he's sick or what?" He growled.

"I'm not saying..."

"Shut up!." He rolled his eyes. "Why need a beta when he is clueless, unsupportive and stupid!"

"You think I'm unsupportive? We've been friends for twenty years now and you still don't find me supportive? I was there for you, when you got bitten by a snake, when your grandma died!...the day you saw your..."

"Close it!!" He shouted, looking around."You are supportive but right now, you're not helping at all!" He retorted and Beta Chris smiled.

"Let's call the Witch, she must have answers to the Eclipse, strange dreams, and all the strange things that have been happening to you" Beta Chris suggested and he nodded slowly.

"Okay, which witch do we call for?" He asked and Beta Chris cleared his throat, staring at him.

"We don't have a choice right now, but I still should call for Lilith!" He said and moved backwards.

"What? Lilith? Never!" He yelled. "I won't invite that manipulative, selfish, seductive serpent in this pack."

"Alpha, are you by chance, Scared?" Beta Chris asked, knowing fully well it was gonna upset him.

"Scared? Of a little witch,? How dare you say such a thing, I could get you beheaded for that!"

"Hailey, that's enough playing for today" Elmira said, carrying her up.

"You look so pretty" she kissed her cheek and then dropped her on the couch before going to assist Grandma in the kitchen.

"Need a hand?" She asked and Grandma chuckled.

"You've never been interested in cooking, what is the matter?" She inquired, staring at Elmira's face.

"You see grandma, I'm...it's so complicated" She sighs.

"Don't worry, I will try my best to understand" Rubbing her back, Elmira decided to open up.

"You see, Hailey's father is...is Alpha Luciano!" She stammered and the spoon fell off from Grandma's hand.

"Are you drunk? You shouldn't say stuff like this" She chuckled over it.

"I'm serious Nana. You see, he actually rejected me,threw me away from the royal house and that was when you saw me" She bit her lip hard, as tears threatened to fall.

"But I never knew I was pregnant with Hailey!" She began crying out, while Grandma pulled her to a warm hug.

"It's okay, it's alright" She patted her back and Elmira sniffed in.

"I'm scared, I'm scared so much I don't know what's going to happen!" She cleared her eyes, while talking.

"What do you mean?"

"I mean...."

The moment she tried explaining, Grandma's phone rang and she went to answer the phone.

Elmira continued with the food, although her mind was on Luciano, all time long.

Alpha Luciano had texted her earlier, asking for dinner in a fancy restaurant and she just wanted to refuse him. Things were going out of control and she just couldn't let herself forgive him that easily. Yes, she would usually reminisce the time they had spent together and wished things could have played out better between them, she couldn't just forget the damage he had caused on her.

When it was in the evening, a guard came with a car to pick her up and she looked at him, surprised Alpha Luciano even did such. She thought for a while and then decided to go and she could just get him off her back

"Yes, I'll go now and tell him to stop trying to talking to me. There's nothing between us anymore and we should just keep things strictly professional" The drive to the restaurant, was a forty to forty five minute one and when they got there, she had never expected what she saw.

All her life of marrying Alpha Luciano, he had never shown any interest in making her happy and now he suddenly does everything just to make her feel like the woman she was.

"This is beautiful" She smiled as she received a bunch of flowers. Her thoughts then came back and she frowned her face as she wasn't ready to let herself be swayed once more. When she got in, Luciano walked towards her and stared at her face as she admired the interiors of the restaurant

"I'm glad you fancy it" He chuckled and then pulled out a seat for her and she sat. It was new to her, Alpha Luciano had never shown this side of him to anyone. Two years! she was married to him for two whole years and it was the very first time she had seen him that happy.

"Why are you hell bent on having me back, is it because you miss your sex doll?" She looked up at Alpha Luciano, this time with a headstrong face

"Sex doll? I'm really sorry for the way I treated you, it was my fault. I shouldn't have made you feel so much bitterness when you were married to me" He sighed and held her hand.

"Please Forgive me , Forgive me Mira* He sincerely apologized.

"After these few years Luciano, you finally realize that what you did to me was terrible but at this point, you don't deserve me at all" She sucked in her bottom lip as tears threatened to roll down her eyes. She looked back up at him abd continued

"Should I really forgive you? Are you worthy of me? Are you!!" She asked, taking off her hands.

"Mira, I said I'm sorry! What more do you want, huh?" He increased his voice and she chuckled so much that she began crying.

"Really? All those nights when I cried myself to sleep, let me ask you again, are you worthy of me? Luciano! Answer me!" She yelled, while Luciano did nothing but to stare at her, he kept staring at her until she cleaned her face.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry I caused you sleepless nights. Please, Forgive me!"
