Chapter 2 After I met my brother

Chapter 1 - After I met my brother

.

"It's so cold,"

that was the first thing that came out of Fransisca Kingston's mouth immediately she raised her head to look around her surroundings. Her newlywedded groom had just driven her to his mansion, threw her out of the car, and left her there while he drove away leaving her without a key to the house, no idea of where she was, and without a cellphone to reach anyone for the past three hours.

He had driven off with her purse and so she was stuck in front of the mansion without a key and no other warmth against the harsh winter wind except for her wedding gown, she had crouched down in front of the house to use the the many layers of her white gown as warmth and a form of comfort. She fought her tears with everything she had. Her neck hurt and she could feel her entire body get stiff thanks to the cold. The bone of her corset dug into her sides painfully and the cold wasn't making anything easy for her.

" If I cry I lose" She coughed and said to herself as she stood up while shivering hard to check if there was anyone she could ask for help. No one was in sight and that only soiled her already ruined day. She blamed herself for accepting to marry someone that she didn't even know. She hated him already but she promised herself to make him pay for ever putting her in such a predicament. Her limbs were already freezing thanks to the harsh winter cold, she used her right hand to brush the snow away from her Sandy blonde curls. Weddings were supposed to be the happiest day in a woman's life but it happened to be the saddest thing that ever happened to her.

A bright light suddenly shone on her and she tried to stand up but her frozen limbs wouldn't allow her. Her supposed husband, Daniel Smith the number one playboy in the city got out of the car and moved close to her with a worried look on his face. She didn't know if what she saw on his face was worries or something else but she could feel her eyes closing as exhaustion took over.

......

It all started when a strange man approached her in the local restaurant she worked at.

" Oh my God you look exactly like my mother," he said immediately as he laid his eyes on her. She had ignored him and served the other customers instead, He looked strange dressed in a sweatshirt and joggers and his hair was messy as if he had come to the restaurant straight out of his bed. And his first sentence to her didn't make him seem less weird.

She looked like his mother her butt! She grumbled under her breath after serving the other customers with one of her fakest smiles. The man continued following her and grabbed her hands turning her around to face him. He stared at her for a while with his mouth wide open and then he started muttering "I can't believe this" under his breath.

" Please I'm working right now sir. You can take a seat if you are not ready to place to place your order" She had told him in a polite but cold manner when he wouldn't stop following her.

Not trying to distract her or get her fired from her job, he decided to wait for her till after her shift. He had become a private investigator just to look for her after she disappeared Sixteen years ago when she was five. She went missing on the same day his mother died in a car accident. They had proclaimed her dead but he knew she was alive and there she was in front of him. His poor little sister after so many years.

Fransisca Rhys grew up in the poorest part of the city with a family that took care of her even though they were not rich enough. She had lived in the orphanage for four years before this kind family decided to adopt her but unfortunately, she lost both of them in an accident two years ago. She had to drop out of college and start working as a waiter at an expensive restaurant to take care of her two younger siblings who were the biological children of her adoptive parents.

He had waited for her till the end of her shift before introducing himself to her and he also provided her with DNA results that proved that she was indeed a daughter of the Kingston family.

" So you are my brother?" She asked him after going through the paperwork. He nodded at her as he grinned excitedly. " You won't believe how long I have been looking for you"

In just one day, her life transformed from a poor girl from the countryside to the heiress of the richest billionaire family in the city. It was awkward at first but with Liam Kingston's nature, it wasn't that long before she warmed up to her elder brother who introduced her to the rest of the family.

Her biological father Henry Kingston, the current CEO of Kingston and co was a cold man who hardly talked, there seemed to be bad blood between him and his only son Liam and their relationship only made Fransisca walk on eggshells around them in the Mansion. Her stepmother, Hailey always appeared nice but Fransisca knew the woman wasn't so thrilled to have her back in the house but ignored the couple from hell, She was glad to have Liam, at least he treated her like a human being.

Well, everything was all roses and rainbows until her rose bed started growing thorns. Her father never wanted a daughter and he was really glad to have her gone along with her mother years ago, that was the reason why he never bothered to look for her even when his only son begged him to find her sister. He refused to waste his time looking for a brat. He hated Fransisca and he didn't hide it from her or anyone until one day, he approached her with a nice smile.

" How are you doing sweetheart?" Francisca's eyebrows shot up at her father's words. She has never heard him address her like that. Only her brother treats her like a human being.

" I am okay I guess" She blurted out awkwardly not knowing how to react around the cold man.

" Well.. that's good. I have something to tell you." He said with a smile that sent chills down her spine in the wrong way. " You are getting married"

" Who? Me?" She gasped, pointing to herself to confirm if her father was delirious or she was the one hearing wrong.

" Did I stutter?" His hard mean gaze was back and Francisca found herself shifting uncomfortably.

" No .. but I can't just get married. I do not have a boyfriend or something like that" She said but he ignored her.

"Don't worry about that, I already chose the man you will marry. Your wedding is in two weeks so start getting ready" He said with a glare enough to intimidate her but she wasn't moved.

" What is this? Some sort of joke? Are we in the 17th century or what? Why do you have a say in whether or not I get married? Who the hell do you think you are?!" She seethed not minding the presence of her slithering stepmother.

" I am your father and I have a right to decide your future," He said with a glare that mirrored hers. She chuckled bitterly " Some loving father you are, you just found your daughter after so many years yet you are just willing to throw her away"

" If you don't marry this man. I will remove your name from the family's registry. You will cease to be my daughter and I will stop your brother from ever reaching you" He threatened and she laughed at his threats.

" No, you can't!"

" Try me Lilly, try me." He said coldly and Francisca felt something inside her. She can't afford to get disowned, she has managed to give her adoptive siblings a better life with her family's influence. Getting disowned means their lives will turn around again and they might end up in a worse place so she surrendered. But she already loathed her father more than she did when she learned that he didn't even try to look for her.

A stranger she had never seen before, stinking rich and the exact definition of men that she must avoid at all cost, she almost scrunched her face in disgust at the picture her stepmother showed her, He was handsome with a smile of the devil himself with a bad reputation that will turn every reasonable woman to the opposite direction.

" I can't just marry a stranger. I don't even know him" She gritted her teeth as she forced the words out. They don't even have the right to decide for her. She knew that her stepmother didn't like her, Francisca was sure this woman planned everything with her father so they could rid themselves of her presence. And they chose a perfect time to carry out their plans because her dear brother was out of the country with his billionaire best friend.

" You were a total stranger to us also" The vain woman muttered under her breath but Fransisca could hear her perfectly.

" This is Daniel Smith, the only son and heir of the Smith Enterprises, current CEO of Smith Hotels and Suites. He is a promising young man from a great background, no one else is suited to be your husband more than him. If you marry him, I will allow you to work under Christina Louis" Her father said giving her an offer she couldn't refuse. Christina Louis is the head fashion designer at Kingston Fashion and he knew how much Francisca dreamed of working under the woman.

" I can help you with dress shopping if you want. I have a list of amazing designers who will be glad to design your dress or if you want Christina Louis, I'll help with that but she is out of the country for now" Her stepmother approached her with a fake smile trying to touch her body.

" Get your filthy hands off me! You ugly witch"
