Chapter 5 5. Bringing the curtain down

There is a time and place in life whereby there's no going back once certain paths have crossed. My Chè, had put me to a place of no return and she had given me a robe to hang myself except that she was there to make sure I don't die.

She has high value and emotional intelligence that even a smart man of my caliber couldn't escape her smartness.

First and foremost, she was right and patronizing her wouldn't work in my favor. She was right.

"Her name is Lenny, she is 30 years old, she

is White", I said

"Is she in a relationship or married?", my Chè

"No, she is not in a relationship or married", Victor

"She is a system auditor, for one of the

German companies", Victor

"What are your intentions about her?", my

Chè

"Well, she's an amazing lady, her head space

is at the right place, I believe she will complement us well", Victor

"Here is where I am, you are my King and as

your Queen, it is my duty to protect you and the Throne we are building together. I have seen great man fall because of side chicks; I don't want you to suffer the same fate. I am aware

that the ratio of man to woman is 1 to 4 on average and just because I have you doesn't make me better than the next woman with no man.

I am also aware that there's no global criteria that stipulate how a man should discriminate on who to choose from given the crazy ratio, I am aware that the next woman deserves the happiness and the security you provide for me and those around me, I am forever grateful for that and you will always be my King and the happiness you are showing me with, I want it for you also.", my Chè

Tears started rolling down my face, my airtime bundles to speak got depleted immediately and I was left speechless.

"The water is getting cold, let's get out", my Chè

I couldn't get up; it was as though I was paralyzed waistline down. I reached out to my glass to finish what was left of my wine, slowly I regained my strength, she threw me a towel to dry myself. I walked toward her and gave her a big bear hug and I couldn't let go of her.

"To say that I am blessed to have you in my life would be an understatement", I told her

I walked towards my closet and took out my gown and hers and walked back to dress her.

"I am gonna catch some fresh air by the patio", Victor

"Enjoy, don't do what I wouldn't do but if you do, name it after me", my Chè and she smiled

I picked up both empty glasses to the kitchen and walked towards the patio and laid down on my rocky chair and tears started rolling down my face all over again.

In our days it is rare to find somebody that is

genuine, open minded and unselfish. Life these days is all about winning and

nothing else, people are too self-centered.

She has definitely cracked the code and that is life is about love, genuine care and protection of what you love and leverage.

The happiness of your partner is as important as your own happiness. Relationships should be about making somebody else happy first

before expecting to be showered with blessings and love.

This means that one shouldn't expect to receive what they have not planted. If one planted tomato and they don't take care of the plants, they shouldn't expect a miracle to happen, they shouldn't expect bumper harvest that supersede their input efforts.

This was a takeaway from my Chè today and it really hit home, people that are selfless are very few and I am blessed to have one by my side.

"I see you brought some seconds from work,

should I warm them up for you?", my Chè

"Those are actually for you", Victor

"We can share, I'll top them up with our leftovers from yesterday's lasagna", my Chè

"That sounds like a great plan", Victor

"I am having a refill, would you like some?", my Chè

"A refill will be nice, thank you", Victor

"Pinotage or late harvest?", my Chè

"Pinotage", Victor

I guess it is true after all that life is going to be

what we make of it, we have the option to choose, what we want life to be like for ourselves and our loved ones.

We often make the mistake of chasing life and end up caught in the web spirals of life not created by ourselves for ourselves but

created by other people for us.

We often turn to subject ourselves to other people's expectations of us and the true reality is that other people's expectations of you are usually selfishly driven and have nothing to do with my personal happiness and the happiness of my close circle.

Remember the reality is that there is no such thing as right or wrong, it's all about perspectives and the different stage one is at

in their life. There are no 2 individuals with the same path in life, no 2 paths will ever be the same, we are all living in different time zones and are vibrating on different frequencies.

All the rules about life or the definition about life

is or was man made and we were tricked into jumping into those boxes and we can trick ourselves out of them.

"Food is ready my King", my Chè

"Cool stuff", Victor

I got up and made my way to the living room. My Queen has good taste in music too, as I walked in, one of my favorite songs came on,

Glen Lewis – 'fall again', I couldn't understand if it was deliberate or not but the song just took me to a different dimension I had never been to before, the lyrics goes something like

'It feels like fire, it burns in my heart, every single moment we spend apart, I need you

around......I wanna spend, time till the end, I wanna fall in love with you like we did when we first met...'.

There was silence on the table

for a moment while the song was playing.

"When am I meeting her?", my Chè

"Soon, I'll let her know you'll like to meet her", Victor

"I trust your judgment, just need to make sure, she knows what we are about and what we

are building ", my Chè

"Yes Mem, understood", Victor

We ate, washed the dishes and went to bed.
