Chapter 9 Served The Wrong Coffee

Flora entered the main house, with Nancy following behind, giving her a lukewarm briefing, "Big Young Master likes mocha coffee, Second Young Master prefers Black Ivory Coffee, Third Young Master enjoys white coffee, and Fourth Young Master drinks fruit juice..."

"Wow! What kind of family is this? Why are there so many members?" Flora silently exclaimed to herself.

She hadn't remembered the coffee preferences Nancy had just explained because she hardly ever drank coffee, so she didn't recognize those names.

But she didn't dare to ask Nancy because she knew that questioning would lead to a barrage of insults. To keep things peaceful, she bravely approached the coffee counter, opened a cupboard, and found an assortment of coffee. After contemplating for a moment, Flora selected the most expensive jar of Black Ivory Coffee, thinking that the domineering man must be drinking the priciest coffee. Following the instructions, she made the coffee and then made her way upstairs.

Staring at the hot coffee with its aromatic scent wafting from the tray, Flora cursed herself for not having poison on hand. She wished she could put two capsules in his coffee and make him disappear from this world forever.

Arriving at the door to Maxwell's bedroom, she took a deep breath and felt her heart thumping in her chest. She was scared of him, always scared, scared of him hitting her, and even more scared of his ruthless possession. Her body had developed a strong aversion to him, and their first intimate encounter had been her most painful moment.

After knocking on the door, Flora gently pushed it open, finding no one inside. She let out a slight sigh of relief and walked in, preparing to leave the coffee on the table and slip away. Suddenly, the bathroom door swung open, and standing before her was Maxwell, wrapped only in a towel.

Flora's face darkened, and she quickly turned away, taking a few steps towards the door. Just as she took a couple of steps, a strong arm like a steel hoop encircled her slender waist, pulling her back into the bedroom.

Flora struggled for a moment and pretended to speak calmly, "The coffee has been delivered, so I should go back to work."

"Miss White, do you think escaping is going to help?" Maxwell held her waist firmly, turned, and sat on the sofa, with Flora naturally seated on his lap.

"What do you want?" Flora exclaimed in frustration, her heart racing, fearing that he might try to do something inappropriate to her again.

Maxwell saw her nervous demeanor and chuckled mockingly, "What are you afraid of? I just want to tell you that you should take this coffee to Oliver's room."

Oliver? Oliver Smith? Flora was stunned. Could it be that Oliver had a connection with him? Was he his twin brother? It had to be, as they looked the same! But in this house, apart from the man before her, she hadn't seen any other male residents. Were they all absent?

With a loud 'bang,' Flora snapped back to reality from her astonishment, only to see Maxwell sweeping the coffee and the cup into the trash can.

He coldly ordered, "Go and make another cup for me."

"Yes," Flora wished he had said that as she stood up from his legs.

Maxwell's phone, which he had thrown on the bed, started ringing at that moment, and he calmly said, "Hand me the phone."

Flora walked to the bed, picked up his phone, and handed it to him. Maxwell stood up from the sofa and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window to answer the call. Flora stood behind him, carefully observing for the first time the lifelike and fierce blue dragon tattooed on his back. It appeared every night in her dreams, gnawing away at her nerves.

After observing it for a while, an inexplicable fear surged through Flora, causing her to lower her gaze and quickly escape from the bedroom. Returning to the coffee counter, she replayed the scene in her mind. Maxwell didn't even glance at the cup of coffee she made, but he could tell it was incorrect. He was sharp.

She had to make it right this time, but she had forgotten the instructions given by Nancy. The maids in this house were colder than ice, and she hesitated about whom to ask.

Just as she was fretting, her shoulder was suddenly tapped, causing Flora to jump in surprise. She swiftly turned around to see a pretty boy, with rosy lips and fair skin, smiling at her like a doll.

"You...!" Flora glared at him, scolding in annoyance, "Robin! You naughty kid, don't you know that scaring people can be dangerous?"

She recognized him as Robin because of his light blue eyes. The last time she saw him, he was wrapped up like a dumpling, but this time, Robin was wearing a cute cartoon outfit, revealing his true appearance. It made her marvel once again at how there could be such a beautiful child in the world, but he was the son of that jerk!

"Hey, it's just a joke!" Robin rolled his eyes unhappily, but his face quickly returned to a mischievous expression. He looked at Flora with a grin and said, "You finally came out! That's great; I've got a new playmate!"

The most important thing was that he didn't have to run to that freezing room to find her to play!

"I don't have time to play with you," Flora replied with an annoyed glance, wishing she could hate him, but she just couldn't. She suddenly looked at him and asked, "Can you tell me what kind of coffee your dad usually drinks?" She figured he must know.

"My dad?" Robin looked at her with confusion and replied, "I don't have a dad."

No dad? Did he come out of nowhere? Flora thought to herself, frustrated. In a hushed tone, she said, "I mean that perverted, disgusting, and wicked... man!" She didn't dare say "jerk" in front of him, even though he was just a child. He was the only person here who seemed somewhat normal, and she didn't want to offend him.
