Chapter 2 Aaron's death

After succeeding in taking Aaron to the hospital and now being handled by a team of doctors, Maria seemed to be waiting frantically and so worried. She kept her eyes closed with her hands clenched together. Maria really hopes that something bad doesn't happen to Aaron.

And also, besides that, thoughts about the perpetrator who might have shot Aaron continued to bother Maria, amidst her worries about Aaron's condition. 'Noah...' Maria said that name while remembering how she looked as if Aaron's brother had run away from the apartment with a gun under his jacket. 'I'm sure he did it,' she said, with feelings of anger and sadness. She also feels bad for Aaron. Maria believes that Aaron's brother was the perpetrator of the shooting.

'How did he do that to Aaron?! How could he...' Maria cannot accept the evil things that Noah did to Aaron. Her eyes looked helpless and full of hope that Aaron would be able to overcome his critical condition in the operating room. Aaron was in a state of life and death now, because of the injuries he received.

Then, Aaron's assistant was seen running over to Maria. 'How is his condition?' Leo asked. And Maria's answer was just a shake of her head. She still wasn't sure about Aaron's condition in the operating room. Maria still had to wait for the doctor to come out with the results. From the look in her eyes, it could be seen very clearly that Maria was very afraid of Aaron's previous serious injury.

'Noah... he's the shooter! Why did he do this to Aaron? Isn't Aaron going to have an important meeting with him? But... W-why... what actually happened? Did they fight? What made Noah meet Aaron at the apartment and shoot him?'

Maria conveyed all the questions that had been confusing in her head for a long time. But what she got was a confused expression from Leo. 'What do you mean? Mr Noah? What's wrong with Mr. Noah? How can you accuse him of hurting Mr. Aaron?' Leo asked.

'I ran into him coming out of our apartment, he was carrying a gun under his jacket. He's the culprit! You have to catch him. He couldn't be left alone. No, I mean... I won't stay silent if something happens to Aaron.' Maria clearly shows her unwillingness, anger, and revenge for what Noah did to Aaron. 'But he shouldn't have done that to Mr. Aaron. Mr Noah couldn't possibly do something as cruel as that to Mr. Aaron...'

'I was the one who witnessed him running hastily from inside with-'

Maria's sentence was interrupted by the opening of the operating room door. And, from how the doctor's movements were tired and looked desperate when he took off his mask, followed by shaking his head, also... 'I apologize. We couldn't save Mr Aaron. The gunshot wound damaged his vital organs. The heavy bleeding he experienced was too late to treat, Mr. We couldn't save Aaron...'.

It was as if a bolt of lightning had just struck Maria. The outburst of emotion immediately gathered. And the next second she was flooded with feelings of extreme sadness. She burst into tears with all her feelings that were destroyed because of the death of her lover.

'NO!! Aaron!!!'

Maria let out a scream of disapproval and deep sadness. She couldn't accept Aaron's death in that way. 'No! Don't leave me like this, Aaron!! We have to get married!! You promised to live happily with me forever! Aahhh...'

Her body almost collapsed because of weakness at the saddest news, but she tried to see Aaron as if she wanted to stop Aaron from leaving this world forever.

Luckily, Leo was there to hold Maria back and help her control all her outbursts of sadness.

'I beg you to let him go, he will be very sad if he sees you like this...' said Leo. But Maria actually started crying even more. She struggled and wanted to reach Aaron, who was already lifeless in the operating room.

'Save him! I beg you, don't let him go to die! Please, Aaron... don't go!!'

Wearing a black dress and glasses that covered her puffy eyes, Maria had to experience sorrow, which was very unexpected. She continued to cry over Aaron's death, which she thought was too soon. There was still a feeling of disbelief, and deep in her heart, Maria still couldn't accept her lover's death.

The funeral took place an hour ago. And it happened desolate and as if it were being kept secret, by a famous billionaire like Aaron. There wasn't even a single report about his death. The only mourners present were people who had personal dealings with Aaron during his lifetime. Not many people appeared to see him off to his final rest. Even his business colleagues or divisional officials in his company were nowhere to be seen.

But Maria wasn't that concerned about that. She thought that perhaps it was because his death was so tragic, or that it was currently still under police investigation, or perhaps to protect the feelings and peace of the family that Aaron had left behind. The only thing that is currently going through Maria's head, is Noah and her hatred because she thinks he was the perpetrator of the shooting and made her lover die.

'Why haven't the police arrested the perpetrator yet?' Maria asked Leo.

'His death was too mysterious. All the detectives and intel are working on it.'

Maria couldn't accept Leo's answer. 'Seriously! Do you want me to believe that fucking shit? I've given my evidence to the detectives, and there's CCTV in our apartment, you'll be able to see the bastard come out and run after killing Aaron!'

Maria sounded so emotional and annoyed. But unfortunately, Aaron's assistant didn't want to believe what she said. Leo continued to deny Maria's statement about Noah, who she thought had killed Aaron. 'Your statement is not enough to prove that. And unfortunately, the CCTV was suddenly turned off that day by someone. So it couldn't record anything.'

'What?! Why are you guys suddenly so incompetent?!'

Anna felt very annoyed. She felt that Aaron's death was too complicated. Even though it was clear to her that the perpetrator was Noah. Moreover, she thought the motive was clear because Aaron and Noah had not had a good relationship. Even she wasn't sure what had made the brothers' relationship so bad all this time.

'Be patient, everything will be clear in the time. And, rather than keep thinking about who made Mr. Aaron die, I had to start thinking about the great work that Mr. Aaron did.' Leo said. 'It is a mega project with incredibly fantastic value, Mr. Aaron is the one who has all the blueprints. None of this would be possible without what only Mr. Aaron.'

Hearing Leo's explanation, Maria narrowed her eyes as if she was ready to accuse Noah by relating it to it. 'Is that mega project, that Aaron was discussing with Noah before he died? Does he want that mega project? Does he greedily want what Aaron has? Maybe... because of that Noah killed Aaron!'

'I didn't kill him...' Suddenly someone answered Maria in a calm tone but seemed very cold and scary.

And as soon as Maria turned around and found the figure who had just spoken to her. Then, her eyes immediately glared angrily, shooting him a vengeful glare. 'You! How dare you be here?!'
