Chapter 5 5

HAZEL'S POV

I had officially missed my classes for today all thanks to Isabella.

If I were some girl trying to fight for her boyfriend then that would be much more understandable but I knew nothing about her well... Apart from the fact that she holds a high standard in the pack but other than that I don't know.

She's been nothing but trouble ever since I got here. To think that I might one day serve her is a nightmare I don't wanna go through. My thoughts were distracted when I heard a loud bang behind me and the scent of my master filled my nostrils which made a frown creep its way upon my face.

"Hazel." His soft voice echoed in the room, I must really admit, he did have a nice voice but he was still my master after all.

"Yes, s... Thomas." I looked to the ground with hope for him not to make me look at him.

"Go home, you know the way back and get things ready before I get back or I'm not going to be easy on you." His voice was like a bullet to my heart as my body shivered but I tried not show it

"Yes, Thomas." He walked away and I noticed his neck having a lot of hair which is so unusual.

Letting go of my thoughts of him I walked towards the entrance of the school but the moment I opened the door I came face to face with Aiden. Can this day get any worse?

"Where do you think you're going?" He scanned me from head to toe like he was up to something but I couldn't tell what it was.

"Home." I whispered softly but loud enough for him to hear.

"Home? The last time I checked only registered human slaves were staying in this pack and you don't seem to be under my list." He walked forward as I took a step back.

"Your list? I serve your brother, not you." I stopped and he was inches away from me but I refused to move.

"The guts to talk back at me, lock the doors!" He yelled out the last part and to my surprise the doors began to shut which made me swallow slowly.

"Look Aiden, I don't want trouble I just want to go home plus Thomas gave me some work to do."

"I don't know what spell you put on my mother but she likes you while I despise you..." He pushed me to the wall before looking down at me and my eyes met his but his lips had a smirk on them.

"Get off me!" I yelled in his face causing him to feel irritated but I didn't care.

"Shut your..." I hit him hard with the bottle in my hand making him let go of me immediately as he groaned in pain.

I ran as fast as I could across the halls, knowing that the doors were locked from the outside. I needed to do something to get out of here.

Hearing a loud growl I knew he was in his wolf form and if he catches me I am as good as dead. I ran into a classroom and immediately shut the door, I noticed a couple making out but I had no time to be looking at that

He was close, I could feel him being so close. I ran to the window and broke the glass as I let myself fly through the window. My arm was bleeding but I had no time for that. I needed to get out of here as fast as possible.

I heard a loud crash and I knew that was the door. I ran into the woods and immediately climbed a tree as it was the only option I had, a wolf was fast and it was dangerous in the woods with a wolf hunting you.

"Hazel!!" I heard him growl my name and I tried to sit still as I sat in the middle of the tree.

I noticed him walking past the tree and my eyes widened at the size of his wolf, I've never seen one as big as that. He slowly began to sniff the air and when he looked up I moved back for him not to see me.

He was in his human form and I do hope he couldn't climb trees for I'll be dead before the next sunrise. I had no doubt about that. After a while he left and went towards the school which made me sigh in relief.

Now the worst job, how the hell am I getting down from a fifty feet tree?

I was good at climbing trees when I'm in trouble. There is no doubt about that but coming down has always been a problem because I hate height so I kinda need help to come down right now.

Looking down I realized there's no way in hell that I'm going down from the place so I was just going to wait here till someone passing or probably a wolf that could kill me.

I took my lunch out of my bag as Isabella didn't give me the chance to eat it. My mind wandered off to my thoughts of my mum and I wondered what she could be doing? How was she? And I know too well that she was with Benjamin.

She loves him so much that she will not suspect a thing about him. It has always been me and her till Benjamin came in the picture and sold me off, I wish I could meet her at least one last time.

I wiped the tears in my eyes as I realized that it was already sunset and the place was getting dark. There was no one coming for me. I needed to get down from here. I hope I do not hit my head on a rock.

Slowly but steadily I began to climb down as I held the tree with my life. After what seemed to be eternity my feet were on the ground and I felt so relieved.

Now the way home.

I turned around and noticed a house deep within the woods and smoke coming out of it's chimney which meant there was someone inside, it's not a bad thing to ask anyways.

Walking towards the house I was certain that there was something in the woods watching me but I didn't know what it was. I stopped in my tracks as I heard a branch crack behind me and I turned to meet a red eyed wolf

"Arghh!" I screamed and turned to run but then I realized that I was surrounded by three of them.

Oh I was dead.

I stayed still hoping that I would disappear, at least they wouldn't be able to catch me. I suddenly heard a growl and a wolf came out of nowhere and began to fight with one of them but the other two attacked me and I ran.

My legs were hurting a lot but the chase was immense and one mistake and I'm as good as... I stopped in my tracks when I noticed no one was following me and the wolf who helped me was wiping on the floor.

I can't leave him like that.

"Don't come closer, I'll be fine! You need to get out of here, it's too dangerous!" I recognized him from school as he shifted into his human form.

"I..."

"Just go!" He snapped which made me jump and I immediately ran out of the there and towards the house.

The woods weren't safe and this was the only chance of me finding a way home. I got to the house and knocked severally but no one responded, I opened up.and gasped at the sight of dead bodies piled against one another.

Who would have done this?

Backing away from the door I walked further with shock driven within me. Did those wolves from earlier do this? But why kill them if they are just going to get dumped inside a house in the middle of nowhere?

I continued walking then I noticed Thomas walking towards what seems to be a village. What was he doing here at this hour?

The hair on his back had increased immensely as he walked and I could see his eyes glowing in the dark which was even more weird.

"Thomas!" I called out for him but he didn't listen, something about him didn't seem right "... Thomas!" I got no response from him.

I followed behind him gently and I shifted into his wolf. It was the same size as Aiden's and he ran into the village and I could see the fear in people's eyes as they ran for their lives.

He was killing them, one after the other sparing no one. The entire village was in jeopardy as everyone was running.

What was he doing?

He turned and his eyes met mine
