Chapter 9 Tristan's POV

My mind never stopped running back to her. She had made herself at home in my head and I loved how it made me feel. I went from my usual morning run and I suddenly felt a twinge of ecstasy in my chest that caused me to stop in my tracks. A powerful scent that sought nothing but to bring me to my knees engulfed me. It was her, I knew it was her, that human with those beautiful pure eyes I met in my wolf form that day in the woods, she was close. I looked around anxiously for a sign of her, but I got none and it was beginning to piss me off.

SKY, my wolf was pacing inside of me, he sizzled with so much energy, and he felt her too.

"She's here...somewhere close, I can feel her, Yesssss, I can feel her" Sky giggled inside me, I felt him surfacing, a sign that he wanted her so badly.

"Take it easy, will you? You can't possibly surface here, we might just end up scaring her away, I can't even get a sight of her and it's frustrating me, don't add your tension to my already tensed self." I shouted at him.

Immediately, he became silent and calm, like a child who was denied candy, he didn't want to scare her away, he wanted her.

I felt her scent fading and I decided to follow the direction it was fading from, towards Mystique University, maybe she was a student of that school, I thought to myself as I moved closer, and soon enough that piquant scent engulfed me again causing Sky to let out an exciting groan. I smiled to myself and kept walking, suddenly, I felt unsteady and then it moved to a pain in my chest, what was that? What could that possibly mean? The last time I felt this was when Willow fell from the staircases and hurt her arm, it then came to me that she might be in some sort of pain or trouble. I felt her calling to us for help. Sky kicked my insides causing me to hasten my footsteps to the gate of Mystique and I did. I walked inside the school environment and everybody made way for me, they felt the intense alpha energy in me coupled with how overwrought my wolf was, and they took to their heels. I followed her scent to the parking lot where I saw her amid some girls. They were maltreating her, the other one pulled her by the hair, that beautiful hair that flowed down her back, and they dared to pull it out. I let out a violent growl causing them to turn to me. When they saw me and the burning fury in my eyes, they ran away leaving her on her knees. She clutched her hands tightly to her chest as she cried uncontrollably. My heart thumped loudly in my chest, I wanted to hug and so tight and kiss away every tear that fell from her beautiful eyes but I couldn't move from where I stood. After a few minutes, the crying reduced to sobbing, she got up, wiped the tears from her face, and walked farther away from there. I hid behind a car so she would not see me, this made Sky angry.

"For goodness, I want to be with it, why am I preventing that from happening? Sky groaned.

"She's human and we can't just creep up on her like that. She was already scared of the people around her. Pushing her harder than we should might just scare her away and what if we end up rejected? You know we cannot afford any rejection again." I said to him.

I could feel him relax and I began to walk back home. I knew I would meet her again but until that time, I'll continue to watch her from a distance. I took out my phone from my hoodie and dialed Tarrell's contact, it rang for a few seconds and he answered.

"I never thought I'd be getting a call from you this soon, to what do I owe this? Tarrell said.

"I have a job for you".

"Oh! How I love the jobs you give, it's been a minute since I did some creepy digging and watching."

"She is new at Mystique. She has bright blue eyes and dark brown hair. She is...emm...very beautiful. The other students bully her a lot and I need you to keep an eye on her, and make sure she's always safe. Capish?

"Yeah, I get it. Trust me, I'll do a good job." Tarrell answered and I ended the call.

I felt better knowing she was in safe hands. Tarrell had worked for me for two years. I completely trusted him with her safety. I plugged in my ear pods, continued playing my music, and restarted my workout.
