Chapter 4 Prospective Daughter-in-law Of The Hoewar Family

However, before Bik Sani could explain that the beautiful doctor was her daughter, Oma Meri instead said, "Kasih ... Oma's Kasih grandchild. Have you come, dear?"

"What? Kasih?" Mr. and Mrs. Hoewar responded in unison.

"Come here, dear. Come to Oma. Bring your lunchbox with you. It's time for you to feed Oma. Oma is very hungry right now," Oma Meri happily said, seeing Kasih who had come into her room.

"Yes, Oma." Kasih then took her lunchbox from her mother and brought it closer to Oma Meri's side.

With great care, Kasih prepared lunch for Oma Meri. Mr. and Mrs. Hoewar couldn't stop looking at Kasih.

It seemed that the two parents were amazed by Kasih's patience in dealing with Oma Meri's quirks. In fact, Kasih was quick to coax Oma Meri into not being picky about her food when she was unwell.

Curious, Mrs. Rara then asked Bik Sani, "Bik, is that really Kasih, your daughter?"

"Yes, ma'am," Bik Sani replied, afraid that Mrs. Rara might be angry because Kasih seemed close to Oma Meri. Even the wealthy old lady referred to Kasih as her grandchild.

"Your daughter is very beautiful, Bik," Mrs. Rara praised.

"Thank you, ma'am," Bik Sani replied.

Mrs. Rara was very surprised. Because Kasih, the trusted family helper's child, had transformed into a beautiful and charming young lady.

The last time she had seen Kasih, the girl was still in high school. Even though the Danu family lived in a pavilion next to the main Hoewar family home, Mrs. Rara hadn't realized how busy she had been. People around her had changed, and she hadn't noticed it.

The proof was that Kasih, who used to be a child, had now become a beautiful young woman.

"Rara, Heru, why have you both been staring at Kasih like that?" Oma Meri inquired.

"To be honest, Oma, we're surprised. Kasih has become an adult now," Mrs. Rara explained.

"Yes, what Rara said is true. Kasih used to be a little girl. Now she's all grown up, right?" Mr. Heru added.

"So, both of you didn't recognize Kasih?" Oma asked.

"No, Oma," the two parents replied simultaneously.

"Well, this is what happens when you're too busy with work. You don't know what's happening around you," Oma scolded.

"Oma, after eating, will you take your medicine?" Kasih asked Oma Meri.

"Yes, Kasih. I'll do everything as long as you stay by my side and take care of me."

"I'll always be by your side, Oma," Kasih assured.

"Kasih, you've grown up, haven't you? The last time I saw you, you were still in high school," Mrs. Rara said, still admiring Kasih.

"Yes, ma'am. Thank you." For some reason, Kasih had always been shy around Mrs. Rara. She was afraid the lady might scold her because she was so close to Oma Meri.

But in reality, Mrs. Rara didn't dislike Kasih at all. On the contrary, she admired Kasih. Not only was she beautiful, but she was also very intelligent. She had completed her studies on time and become a doctor.

Mrs. Rara even wished for Kasih to marry her son, Faith, who seemed distant from women. Since he was a teenager and now at twenty-eight, Faith had never been close to a woman. This worried Mrs. Rara as Faith's mother.

So, she thought Kasih was the perfect match for her son, as she was patient and even managed to soothe Oma Meri, who was very demanding.

"Alright, now that we're all here, I want to say something," Oma Meri, who had just finished her medicine with Kasih's help, began to speak.

"Kasih, come closer." Oma Meri gestured for Kasih to come nearer.

"Yes, Oma." Kasih replied, nervously approaching Oma.

Once near Oma Meri, the elderly woman firmly held Kasih's hand.

"Don't go anywhere, Kasih. Don't try to distance yourself from Oma because I'm about to announce something related to you." Oma Meri said softly.

"Yes, Oma. I'm sorry." Kasih was nervous, not knowing what Oma was going to tell everyone in the room.

"I want to announce that Kasih is the future daughter-in-law of the Hoewar family. I will arrange her marriage to Faith as soon as possible. Does anyone object to my decision?" Oma Meri asked, looking at the faces of everyone in the room.

Kasih was taken by surprise by Oma Meri's words. Her hands grew cold. She was in shock, as she had secretly loved the man since childhood, and now he was to be her future husband. She couldn't even bring herself to look at him, let alone become his wife.

It was too sudden for her. Kasih certainly did not agree with Oma Meri's statement.

"Oma, I...," Kasih started to speak, but before she could finish, Mrs. Rara spoke up.

"I strongly agree with Oma Meri's decision. Kasih is the most suitable person to be with Faith. Kasih, I support you! Daddy, what do you think?" Mrs. Rara asked, looking at Kasih with great affection.

"But, ma'am," Kasih continued trying to object to the arranged marriage.

However, Mr. Heru's words made her even more helpless. "Daddy also agrees. Faith is very rigid and cold. He is perfectly suited to be accompanied by Kasih, who appears cheerful and friendly," he said, supporting Oma and his wife's decision.

Especially considering Oma Meri's serious illness, it made Mr. Heru even more unwilling to go against his mother.

"What do you think, Danu? Do you agree with this arranged marriage?" Mr. Heru asked his assistant.
