Chapter 5 Do you mind if I join you

Jaden stood up laughing like a fool that he was. I scoffed in annoyance and stood up then angrily took my cream from his hands.

" You are so not useful," I said and he smirked.

" Neither are you" he said then walked away. I rolled my eyes and sat down he is such a prick.

" He is an ass right" I turn to see Greg walking towards me.

" He sure is" I replied. I couldn't help the smile that crept on my face next.

" Can I help?" He asked stretching his hands. I nodded then handed over the cream to him.

" So......how are you enjoying Florida?" He asked while applying the sunscreen on my back.

" Hmmmmm quite amazing, the beach, the mall and the city, it's nice, "I said and he smiled. "Although I haven't been to many places yet and I would love to take a tour around this beautiful city" I added and he nodded with understanding.

" You won't mind me taking you on that tour right?" Maybe smiling with all my 32 teeth isn't the best thing right now but I eventually did.

" Of course not, I will love that like since my mom will be too busy preparing for her dream wedding then I don't mind" he smiled then gave me the sunscreen.

" All done," he said

" Thanks" he sat beside me. We were both staring at the beach. Jerry was trying to make Aliyah play with him but she was so caught up with her phone. While Gerald and Patricia were making out which earned a disgusting groan from Greg.

" They are both disgusting" he said and I laughed.

" No, they are not" I denied. Harald walked to Gerald and Patricia and then splashed water on them. I think that pissed Gerald off.

" Harald always interrupts them," Greg said.

" Doesn't he have a girlfriend?" I asked Greg.

" Nope, he is too stupid to have one," Greg said.

" Seriously"

" Okay no that's not the main reason, his last girlfriend left him for his brother who is way hotter" Greg said almost bursting into laughter.

" That.......was sad, he won't believe in love again"

" yh, and he doesn't talk about it much" Greg smiled as we both looked at Harald.

"What about you?" I asked. he was mute for some time before speaking.

"it's kind of a long-distance stuff" "Buh I love her though" he added.

" didn't know you had a girlfriend but that's nice" A huge grin appeared on his face.

"thanks" he said then looked at the beach. " do you have a boyfriend?" he asked.

" nope," I answered.

"you've never had one?" he asked again and I nodded negatively, he looked stunned for some time before replacing his shocked face with a grin.

"that's rare but stress-free" I laughed at his words. stress-free indeed.

"relationships are stressful and sometimes heartbreaking and I will secretly advise you to be an independent woman for life," he said and I burst into laughter that I was almost rolling on the white sand. "j--just j-jo-joking" he said in between his laughter.

" I love that idea, I will be hashtag independentwomanforlife" I spread my hands to demonstrate it on the air. " I might maybe have a cat so my life won't be boring" I added. Greg smiled at my idea then stood up stretching his hands towards me.

"do you care for a walk?" he asked. I nodded then he took my hand into his.

"I like your hands, it is small and soft," he said. my cheeks are already hurting because of too smiling today.

"Thanks, yours are soft too"

"Thanks"

"so do you mind telling me why you don't have a boyfriend" he added. Oh, that's because most of my crush doesn't like me back and it's mostly weird boys that like me.

"I'm afraid of heartbreak" I shamelessly said. he stooped walking for a while before looking at me.

"It hurts you know," he said.

" But you just have to bear it sometimes and just move on because maybe he/she is not the right one for you or you're just too good for them" he paused and then continued.

" you know it hurts when someone who you didn't expect breaks your heart, it feels like a bee's sting, it hurts a lot," he said softly. he looked pained like tons of girls had broken his heart before.

" you know relationship isn't really for everybody, it is mainly for the strong" I chuckled softly making him smile a little.

"Being in a long-distance relationship is not easy you don't know what your partner is doing you have to have a lot of nerve to even think about that"

"Are you happy about yours?" I asked. he scoffed and then looked at me.

"hey loners" Harald said putting his hands around our shoulders. Good now I get it Harald is the spoiler.

" brooooo can't you see we're trying to have a conversation here" Greg exclaimed. Harald rolled his eyes and then turned his face in my direction.

" hi beautiful," Harald said. I made an irritating face which made Greg burst out in laughter.

" I know what you did Greg and it isn't funny at all" Harald said and it earned another laugh from me and Greg.

I bid Greg goodbye for the last time before going to my room. Today was really fun and I enjoyed it. I stripped naked in my bathroom and entered into the bathtub, the warm water made me feel so relaxed. I closed my eyes enjoying the warmness of the water.

" do you mind if I join you?"
