Chapter 5 MEETING MR DREAMY EYES AGAIN

Sia Jenkins

"Oh my God," I breathed as I walked into the grand hall of the extravagant venue, my heart pounding with excitement.

I was wearing a sparkly strapless margarita dress that flowed to the floor. It was a rental dress; I couldn't possibly spend fifteen thousand bucks on a dress. It was just two hundred bucks on rental, and I needed to look my best for the party. As they always say, first impressions matter.

I just needed to be careful because nothing, literally nothing, could happen to that dress tonight. My black heels clicked on the marble floor as I stepped into the hall.

The room was adorned with sparkling chandeliers and lavish decorations, and I couldn't help but feel a bit overwhelmed. It was dimly lit for ambiance-or maybe they were trying to conserve electricity. Who the hell knew with these eccentric rich folks? They all had too much money.

As I ventured further into the crowd, I glanced around, my eyes taking in the sea of well-dressed and influential personalities and celebrities. How could the Luis-Diaz family be so influential? I didn't do my homework on them because I didn't want to. I just needed to find Alexander Luis-Diaz and make him accept the interview. I didn't need to know more about his other family members.

Speaking of which, I wouldn't even recognize him if I met him because I didn't do any homework on him at all. I had thought it would be easier to find him at the party if I just asked someone. How hard could it be?

Finally, I spotted a bar and marched towards it. I took a seat and ordered a drink, hoping it would provide me with some much-needed confidence before meeting Mr. Luis-Diaz. As I held the cocktail in my hand, I got up to leave and tripped over my sparkly dress. My glass of champagne spilled over a blonde woman, but before I could hit the floor, someone caught me.

"Careful," he said.

It was, without a doubt, the sexiest way someone had told me to be careful in my whole life. I looked up, and my breath caught in my throat as I met the gaze of the man I thought was a stranger.

He wasn't a stranger, blow me! He was Dominic freaking Vandijk, the youngest Hollywood producer. I was dreaming, yes, this was definitely a dream. His strong arms were holding my hand. Those piercing blue eyes were staring into mine. Those beautiful lips told me to be careful.

"Are you alright?" he asked, letting go of my hand, "That was quite a slip you had there."

Who knew The Dominic Vandijk was this hot in real life? Broad shoulders, neatly styled brown hair, his suit clung to his body like a second skin, and his toned arms were so manly.

I was so caught in the moment that I didn't notice the blonde woman I spilled my cocktail on was still standing there, her eyes blazing with anger. Her cheeks had already turned red, and her eyebrows were narrowed.

"You should watch where you're going!" she snapped, wiping the liquid from her gown.

I looked up, my eyes wide with surprise and apology. "I'm so sorry,"

She rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed. "How did you even get in here?" she said, looking at me with disgust.

I hated being looked down on and right, this blondie was doing just that. It was as if Dominic Vandijk could sense my anger because before I could say anything to the blondie, he spoke.

"I'm really sorry, Ma'am. She didn't mean to spill," Dominic's smooth words seemed to soothe her.

The blonde woman shot me a watch-your-back look before she stormed off. I turned to Mr. Vandijk with my best womanly smile.

"Thank you for catching me," I said. "Thanks for saving me as well, Mr. Vandijk."

He chuckled warmly, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "It happens to the best of us," he reassured me. "And please, call me Dominic. May I say you look absolutely stunning tonight, despite the little mishap."

I smiled, feeling my confidence start to rise. Dominic Vandijk complimented me. I felt like I was on cloud nine.

"Thank you, that's very kind of you to say. Do you happen to know where Mr. Alexander Luis-Diaz is? I'm actually here to interview him."

Dominic's face scrunched up a bit. "Ah, Alex will be giving a speech in a few minutes. He's in his private suite, getting ready. I can take you there if you'd like."

I nodded eagerly, grateful for Dominic's assistance. Together, we made our way through the bustling party, eventually arriving at a door that led to Mr. Luis-Diaz's private suite.

Dominic smiled, then he reached for his breast pocket and pulled out a card.

"You have the face of a star. You can reach out to me if you ever change your mind," he gave the card to me and smiled at me before turning to leave, leaving me alone to knock on the door.

A few moments passed with no response, and I tentatively pushed the door open and stepped in. The room was dimly lit, and I could barely see anything. The room smelled of scotch and cinnamon and something I couldn't quite place my fingers on. It also felt oddly familiar.

"Mr. Luis-Diaz," I called out his name softly, but my voice seemed to echo in the quiet room. As my eyes scanned the dimly lit space, I sensed movement, causing a sudden chill to run down my spine.

In my apprehension, I stumbled yet again, my flowing gown tangling beneath my feet. My heart raced as I braced myself for the painful impact of another fall. But, before I had a chance to hit the ground, a masculine hand caught me by the waist, his firm grip steadying me.

Gazing up, I found myself face to face with him. That oddly familiar figure. I was sure my heart and lungs stopped working. He was right in front of me. My breath hitched as I stared into those jade-green eyes, and even in the dim light, I could recognize him because his face was etched in every fiber of my being, every part of my memory.

It was him. He was my Mr. Dreamy Eyes. What was he doing here?
