Chapter 4 4

It was already early morning when I suddenly woke up, not because I was hungry – I hadn't eaten dinner or felt hot. The air conditioning in OUR room with San Goku was just too strong. I woke up abruptly, feeling a sudden sadness and intense loneliness. Still lying on the sofa, I glanced at the wall to check the time.

It was only 1:30 in the morning.

I got up and surveyed the room. San Goku was not in his bed. I had no idea where he was at this hour or whether he went back to the nemik planet for training. Honestly, I didn't care about him. His way of speaking was painful. His heart was as tough as his abs. Both rock-hard.

I wondered if San Goku's nipples were also hard. Ajuju, it's late at night, but I'm still thinking about these things.

Suddenly, I remembered what he said earlier. Just because I'm from the province, am I automatically a gold-digger? Wait, what does gold-digger mean? Oh well. I know it's a hurtful word. He also said I look like money. Seriously? His words hurt. His heart is as tough as his abs. Charot. Just kidding.

I approached his bed and sat on it. His bed was much softer than that grumpy guy's heart. I touched the bed and felt its softness. It seemed more comfortable to sleep here than on the sofa. But as San Goku, with Majinbu tendencies, said, only he had the right to sleep here.

So, it's his. Let him enjoy it to the fullest.

I smiled sadly. I didn't mind if he slept here. I could endure anywhere. Back in our province, I slept on a mat. Did I complain? No. I'm patient and plastic. I was raised to endure hardships by my grandfather, so I can endure anything and put on a plastic face. I even had water spinach with shrimp paste as a meal. Has he ever eaten that? I'm sure not. He's a rich kid, while I'm just a plastic child. Chos!

While I was dramatizing, I suddenly felt hungry. I quickly went to the door and peeked outside. The hallway was dark, with small lampshades giving minimal light. I was scared to go out, fearing I might see a ghost. What if I saw Sadako doing splits or bending while walking? I'd freak out. I decided to close the door.

"Ugh! I'm hungry. What was I thinking when I said I was full earlier?" I grumbled. Boysit. I shouldn't have acted up when he invited me to dinner. "Ah! I know. I still have some of that."

I went to where my two suitcases and woven bag were and took out some pieces of suman. I also took out the picture frame of my grandfather and headed to the balcony of OUR room with San Goku.

The view from the balcony was beautiful. I could see the bright lights of houses from above. Even the entire garden was visible. Falcon house is so big, indeed.

I sat on a wooden chair. The breeze was cool, but it's not the same as the fresh air in the province. In our place, it smells like plants and carabao dung. Here in the city, it smells like smoke. I miss the province. I wanted to go back tomorrow, but I didn't want to disappoint my grandfather. I wanted to fulfill his wish for me to marry Elton.

It would be embarrassing to suddenly tell Grandpa Andres that I'm backing out. As Grandpa said, his friend is very kind and has helped us a lot. If this is the only way I can repay his kindness, then so be it. I'll push through with it!

If Elton annoys me, well, I'll annoy him back. We'll annoy each other forever. Whoever gives up first loses, and I'm sure he'll be the one to lose between us. I can endure him because I was born plastic.

In the province, I'm the number 1 bully. I always make the children of our plastic neighbors cry. Their children are around five years old. I tease them and make them take off their shorts. They cry and run to their moms.

After eating the suman, I hugged my grandfather's picture frame and looked at the scattered stars in the sky.

"Grandpa, it's sad to live without you by my side. It just dawned on me that you're really gone from this world and have left me for good," tears suddenly welled up in my eyes. "Grandpa, I'm lonely now. There's no one to taste the suman I make. No one to tell me how great my English is. Grandpa, if you can hear me, please make your presence known."

Suddenly, a dog started barking.

"Grandpa, come on, I said make your presence known, not bark. Did you turn into a dog?"

I waited for a few moments and then went back to OUR room with San Goku. He still wasn't there. I hope he doesn't come back so I can sleep well. Tsk. I don't want to see him. I'm a snob in person.

I placed Grandpa's picture back in the woven bag and lay down on the sofa again to sleep. I hadn't even closed my eyes when I heard footsteps. I closed my eyes slightly and opened them a bit to see who was entering the door.

I saw San Goku. He was dressed in his super saiyan outfit. He stopped walking and went to the cabinet. Suddenly, he threw something soft and fragrant at my face. It looked like a blanket. When I heard him enter the bathroom, I quickly opened my eyes. I was right. He threw a blanket.

But why throw it? He could have given it to me properly.

I took advantage of the moment he was in the bathroom and wrapped the blanket he threw around my whole body. I smiled to myself.

"There's kindness hidden in that body after all." I said to myself. "I should call him Vegeta instead of San Goku." I said my last words and finally fell asleep without seeing Elton coming out of the bathroom.

Darn! I didn't see if he was wearing boxers, briefs, or nothing when he sleeps.

I woke up early the next morning. I even found San Goku peacefully sleeping in his own bed. I got up immediately, neatly folded the blanket, and placed it on the sofa where I slept. As I was about to leave the room, I stopped because I realized I forgot to do something.

I approached Elton's bed and admired his sleeping face. This guy is really handsome. His thick eyebrows are perfectly shaped, his nose is sharp, and his lips are slightly parted. I was careful in observing his face, fearing that he might wake up and suddenly use his Kamehameha wave to throw me out of the room.

I satisfied my eyes with the view of his face, then turned away. As I was near the door, I remembered something again. I needed to do this to find the answer to my question and calm my restless body.

I returned to the side of Elton's bed. Slowly, I lifted the blanket to see what he wears when he sleeps.

I lowered my head and peeked at what he was wearing, "Hihihi. Almost black boxer." I happily whispered to myself because finally, I knew the answer to my question.

I left the room and walked through the hallway. The entire mansion of Lolo Andres was quiet. It felt like there was no one, despite its enormous size. Is it not fun to have a big house? You might feel like you're alone without anyone.

Not like our house in the province. Even though it's small, you can feel the presence of people. In the morning, you can already hear the neighbors arguing with their spouses. They exchange harsh words in the morning, even during breakfast.

While walking, I suddenly encountered a girl about my age, wearing a maid's uniform. I tried to act innocent and not reveal that I was lost, but she stopped in front of me.

"Ma'am," she respectfully spoke.

I faced her with a furrowed brow, "Ma'am? Am I a teacher? Are you my student?"

She giggled, "Hihi. You're really something, Ma'am. You're so playful, just like Sir Fernando." she answered while laughing. "Lord Andres told me to bring you to the dining table when you wake up."

"Ah," I nodded, "Alright, thank you."

She pointed me to the direction of the dining table, or something like that. I might get lost again because, first, I'm bad with directions. Second, I can't remember exactly what she said. What I remember is turn, go right, do a somersault, split, and go backward when I'm downstairs. Whatever.

When I was downstairs and about to do a split, I suddenly saw Sir Fernando. He talked to me and accompanied me to the dining area of the mansion. Too bad. I thought I could finally do a split and go backward. Never mind. I'll do that in the garden later.

I found Grandpa Andres sitting at the end of the long table, reading the newspaper. He was already dressed in his business attire and seemed to have an early appointment. When he noticed me, he put the newspaper on the table and looked at me with a big smile, as if something good happened early in the morning.

"How's your sleep, apo?" he greeted cheerfully.

Oh no. Early in the morning, he asked in English. He's ruining my day.

I smiled, "I'm 20 years old po," I proudly answered. Lolo Andres was surprised, so I grinned. He probably thought I wouldn't know how to respond to his English question.

"Hahaha, you really are my cheerful apo," he replied. I wonder what's so funny. "Anyway, have a seat. I'm preparing our breakfast."

I sat on the chair with three spaces between me and Grandpa Andres. I looked around wondering why only the two of us were here.

"Grandpa, where are your grandchildren? Why are we the only ones here?" I asked curiously.

He smiled reservedly, "Kylde is still asleep. Klode left early because he said he has something to do in his school. Chris is in the garden, playing with his dog." He suddenly looked sad. "As for Erwin, I haven't seen him yet."

The person narrating the story mentioned that Sir Fernando told them, "But I never lose hope of seeing Erwin again. I know my grandson is still alive. So, as much as possible, I'll use all my connections to find him." He then asked about Elton, if he was still sleeping, to which the narrator replied, "He's already dead."

Surprised, Sir Fernando asked again, and before the narrator could finish explaining, someone spoke from behind, greeting them with "Good morning, Grandpa." The person turned out to be Elton, and a conversation ensued, including a mention of Elton sharing a bed with the narrator, almost falling off due to her restless sleep.

Grandpa Andres, amused by the situation, advised Elton to be responsible, and then mentioned his upcoming departure, instructing Althea to inform Elton of any needs. The exchange revealed some tension between Althea and Elton, with Althea making a false statement about Elton touching her breasts. Elton explained that they had to lie to avoid stressing Grandpa Andres further.

As the conversation continued, Althea questioned Elton about his relationship with Jenina, and Elton asserted his love for her, emphasizing that he would not marry Althea. The narrative also hinted at a complex family dynamic and Elton's affection for Grandpa Andres.

The scene concluded with Elton leaving and Althea contemplating the dynamics within the household, particularly the relationships involving Grandpa Andres, Elton, and Althea herself.

Your student opened the door to your room, revealing a storage room filled with various broken items, some boxes collecting dust.

"WOW!" you exclaimed in amazement. "This will be my room? It's so spacious."

Your student, surprised, asked if you were genuinely happy. You replied affirmatively, comparing the size of this room to your home in the province, emphasizing your cleanliness. You requested a cloth and a broom to clean your new room.

While exploring the room, you heard San Goku's voice behind you, asking about your thoughts on the new room. You expressed joy, thanking him for giving you your own space. San Goku seemed astonished by your response, calling you "impossible" and closing the door.

Despite his mood swings, you remained indifferent, celebrating your new room in the mansion. However, you realized that if you sleep here, you won't be able to see what San Goku wears to bed, so you jokingly considered peeking at him in the early morning.

As you prepared the room, you removed boxes from the old bed, only to be surprised by the dust, making you cough. You humorously mentioned being full from inhaling the dust, hinting at skipping lunch.
