Chapter 5 Strange Encounter

Raphael Pov

I launched forward my limb pressed directly into the white wolf underneath me, I stared at it with so much anger and hunger, ready to rip out the life out of it. But as I leaned closely ready to devour it, I felt a footsteps approaching slowly, slightly rustling and before I could finished up with the dying wolf.

I heard a slight gasped and looked up to see a red head girl standing opposite me in the nearest corner, her eyes widened at me and she looked down at the howling at the dusk of death. She was breathing furiously her hand brushed against her hair and see started to walk closer, she wrapped her hands around herself.

I snarled angrily at her and she gasped stepping away a little, there was something about her. Something that made me want to rush and attack her instead of the wolf, she was breathing steadily and I could sense her fear embedded with little courage coming from her.

I made a dangerous gesture her way hoping she would be scared and start to run so I could attack properly, I like the fact when they run for their life. It's like a fuel to my soul and it makes me want I attack with pride, but the girl standing opposite me wasn't giving any sign of departure, I guess she cared more about the wolf that I was about to kill rather than her own life.

I jumped forward and launched forward to smack her, who the hell was she. Why did she think she can stand before the greatest alpha and show so much courage. I hate it, I wanted to kill her at the spot.

"A werewolf?" She mumbled, stepping away from me. "Am I dreaming? or am I in some realm of fantasy?"

I growled with gritted teeth, aiming at her to leave. It was the first time I've ever stared at someone and didn't have the urge to kill them, there was something about the girl standing before me. She was looked innocent and brave.

I watched her rubbed her hands against her eyes and she scoffed, she seemed not to believe that all that was happening was real, that gave me the slightest urge that she was new to the neighborhood. Anyone at the sight of me would run for their life, but she didn't budge.

Her eyes went down to the wolf that I was about to kill, I found myself turning to look at the wolf. Some calmness sensation came over me and I stared at the wolf in pity, the urge to kill it left me. The wolf pried himself from the floor and limped away into the other part of the woods, I couldn't believe I allowed it escaped without running after it to kill it.

I felt a soft tender touch of my back as the hand brushed against it giving it a firm touch, I didn't know what happened to me at that moment but all I knew was that I felt something different.

I turned toward the girl and she gasped her hands shook in fear and she started to walk away from me slowly, before I could do anything or make any attempt. She ran away with so much energy, I guessed she didn't knew I was real until she touched me.

She thought I was some imagination, I found the thought of her calming the fire within me. The rest of my pack members came rushing to meet me, instead of scolding them or urging them. I transformed into my human form and immediately Jack handed my robe to me, I turned to him with a frown.

"We're done with hunting for tonight, let's head back to the mansion." I turned toward the path that the girl ran through before turning to Jack. "We continue the hunt tomorrow."

I walked past them and started walking away toward the mansion path, Jack hasten his step to meet up with mine. I knew he was surprised that I decided to halt an attack we've planned for days but I needed to stop, my mind wasn't in hunting anymore. It was on something else, the moment when I felt the hands of the girl brushing against my body made a cold chill within me.

"I'm sorry, that the hunting didn't turn out the way we planned it. I promised it won't happen again," Jack said his gaze tilted to the ground.

I ignored his sorry gaze, the one he always give to me whenever he did something wrong but this time it wasn't him. It was me–it was the girl. I wanted to know more about her, there was something about her that I couldn't get out of my mind.

"I need information about that girl, leave the hunting plans and keep your eyes on that girl," I said in authority.

Jack lifted his gaze an spared me a quick confused look. "Which girl?" The word fell out of his mouth like he was scared I would react to it.

I stopped in my track and turned to make eye contact with him, but he looked away. "She did what no one has ever had the gut to do." I scoffed. "She looked me in the eye and touched me." Jack eyes widened, I could see he was surprised more than I had been.

"She must be brave sir," Jack mumbled. "I'll look into it."

I turned toward the direction I saw her run toward and rest my palm on his shoulder. "I want you to start with that path." I gestured. "She must not know that you're spying on her."

Jack turned toward the direction. "She won't I promise, I'll start right now." He turned toward he path I had gestured for him to take and started running down the path.

I sighed and cleared he thought of the girl from my head while I walked down the road.
