Chapter 9 9

We planned to meet at the address I gave Bella. Surprisingly Bella was familiar with the location, her father has property there too. This made her eager to know who the father of my child was.

" Dad has a property here too" Bella revealed to Allison.

I nodded " You said that before "

" Yeah. I don't know how many but there is this particular one behind this building here. We do come during the weekend "

" oh wow.." I said but deep down I wasn't interested in that " I hope we find the guy "

" This is why I was insisting that you should have asked him for his name. We would have hunted him down on social media " Bella told her.

I pouted. I knew Bella was right but the fact that she kept reminding me about my stupidity makes me even angrier.

" I didn't know it will result in this "

" Press the bell already" Bella raised her voice

" Be gentle with me. Calm down. I'm on it already" I pressed the bell twice and we heard footsteps approaching.

The gate got opened and a man with gray hair came out. He gave us a confused look " How may I help you?"

I stared at Bella. The last time he brought me here, I met a different person by the gate. This could be the new gateman, I thought to myself

" Please I'm asking for the boss"

He furrowed his brows" Is she aware that you are here?"

We became confused " She? She is a she?"

The man nodded staring at them strangely " Yes"

" I was here last three weeks with your boss. He is a guy and he assured me that he owns this place " I tried to make him understand. I was finding it hard to believe that the man must have lied to me.

" I'm sorry miss, this place belongs to my boss and she is a female "

" What about her husband? don't you think he might be the one I'm probably looking for? " I was desperate at this point.

" I shouldn't tell you this but you leave me no choice. Her husband has been dead for years now. From all I know, she just packed into the penthouse last two weeks"

Then it hits her, the man she was here with must-have rented this place. He must have been here for business and now that he was done, he is gone " Shit!"

Bella knew it was her turn to intervene " I think we should just leave. This man has been kind enough to tell us the few things we need to know, don't push it "

I feared the worse. The man was a foreigner. This is my doom. I need to start preparing for the worse.

" I'm doomed, Bella " I cried out.

The man went back inside without a care. He was only doing his job.

Bella helped me into the car before she goes back to knock at the door again " Allison you need to be strong at this point. He has left "

" I know " I cried out " I should have asked for his name. I was so stupid. I was busy thinking of my desire that I failed to be careful. Gosh!"

" You need to calm down. This isn't the end of things. We still have a lot of things to do " Bella told me " At this point, I don't think you can drive yourself. "

" I can"

" I won't allow you to endanger your life. You are not in your right senses now. I'll call my driver to get my car instead. "

" You are driving my car?"

" Yes, it's the best thing to do at the moment "

Bella got into the driver's side of the car. She starts the car and zooms off. I rested my back on the seat and was deep in thought. I can't imagine how my life will be from now on.

This is a change she was never ready for. My hands went to my stomach. I gave it a small pat. This is the beginning of my adulthood. Funny enough I'll be starting my adulthood with a child. I'll be 21 in a few months.

I laughed bitterly at my fate " I'm so stupid "

" You are not stupid, you are only being careless"

" There is no difference." I said and kept quiet for a while " I've decided to tell dad about this."

" What?!" Bella was shocked. The car made a screeching halt.

I glared at her friend " Do you want to have all of us killed? are you crazy?"

" I'm sorry. I was just shocked"

" But you almost got us killed "

" Stop being paranoid right now. We are still alive right?"

I groaned " please just take me home already"

We finally got to our destination. I rushed inside without waiting for Bella. Bella who is a good friend understood that it was the pregnancy hormone.

Bella also went after her." Allison!... Allison wait up"

I stopped abruptly, and Bella came crashing at my back. We stopped.

" What is it?" Bella whispered

" Shush," I said pointing in a direction. Bella followed my hand and she also heard voices.

" She needs to marry him" it was hard to capture the full conversation. But with the little I heard, I know they were referring to me.

Bella also knew what that conversation was about. She didn't want me to hear more because of my sanity. She dragged me upstairs to my room.

I didn't say anything, I sat down and stared at my finger.

" I'm sure your dad won't do that to you" Bella tried saying

" Stop talking as if you don't know who my dad was. He is full of surprises but do you know the fun part of things?"

Bella shook her head " I don't "

" I have the best surprise for them. This is more reason why I should tell them immediately "

" Aren't you scared of what might come after?"

" Who gives a damn?" I scoffed " Two can play the came "

" You are scaring the shit out of me "

" I'm in my bitch mood " with that being said, I dashed towards the door " Stay right here while I get back"

I went down the stair like a woman on a mission. I wore a very serious expression and didn't care what the outcome might be.

I stopped the moment I was in front of Dad's study room. I planned on knocking and then decided against it. I quietly went in and in the process stopped them mid-sentence.

Dad stared at me like I got two heads, and my stepmom glared at me too while Diane smirked. They were up to something, I thought to myself as I gauge their reaction when I came in.

" uhm...Dad? Can I have a word with you?" I asked aware of the eyes on me.

" You can say it, we are all listening, " My stepmom said annoyed. Looking at dad, he also supports the motion.

I mentally rolled my eyes " Alone please "

I watched him let out a sigh. " Please excuse us please "

I expected my stepmom to decline but she didn't, instead, she stepped out with Diane surprisingly. I turned back to see dad already waiting for me to talk. He had his arms crossed over his chest as if saying " I'm listening "

I tried as much as possible to be strong for myself." I know this must sound stupid to you but I've come to realize that I don't care what you think and I don't mind whatever you decided except if your decision doesn't sit well with me "

He was all the more confused " What do you mean by that?"

" I'm pregnant Dad"

He thought I was joking at first but when he saw the serious look on my face he snapped " Are you crazy!"

I shrugged " I wish I was but no I'm not. I'm telling the truth. I'm expecting a child. This was why the doctor was here yesterday"

He couldn't believe what he heard. He tried to absorb whatever it was but was finding it seriously difficult. " If this is your plan on not getting married to the man I chose for you then it won't work. Nothing will stop you from getting married to him"

I laughed " You make me laugh daddy. If you think I got pregnant because of that then you must be mistaken. I stand here before you to inform you that I rather kill myself than get married to some stupid rich ass hole no...."

I was met with a slap on the face. My shock was immense.

" Don't ever cuss in front of me. You are a disgrace to this family!" He yelled " I regret ever taking you from your mother! You are just a whore like her "

I felt tears down my face " Then take me back to her "

At that moment my stepmom and Diane stepped into the office when they heard the yelling. They all look horrific.

" What's going on here?"

" This Useless thing here is pregnant "

" What?!"

" Yes, you heard right. It's high time she returns to where she can never return"

" Where is that "

" You'll find out soon"
