Chapter 4 My Saviour

If the blade comes in contact with her face,her mother would be heartbroken.

"Why are you denying it? Do you think he would protect a slut like you when he can't even protect himself? He had confessed to it himself." The woman mocked hellbent on destroying her face.

Layla turned to look at the manager in despair. So he could actually do something like that. Is this payback for not accepting his proposal?

Layla felt different emotions swirling within her. She wished that Miles could appear and save her from such humiliation.

The others were busy making fun of her as they all glanced at her with disdain. They hated her and were quite happy with the way she was treated. None of them came to her rescue as they placated other customers.

The customers gave Layla a dirty look as the woman dragged her out. The manager on the other hand,gave her a knowing look.

"Stop!!" An authoritative voice resounded throughout the building.

The woman subconsciously stopped and Layla turned to look at her savior. It was him!! Her mind yelled to her. She knew she would be safe now so she let all her guards down.

She didn't know why but seeing him made her want to pour out her grievances. She began sobbing silently. On seeing her tears,Miles frowned and turned to glare at the woman.

The woman subconsciously left Layla. She couldn't stand the aura he was emanating at the moment.

"President!!" They all bowed. They were beyond excited. The president had come to their mall for the first time. But they were really angry that he had to witness such a spectacle on the first day he arrived.

"What's going on here?" He asked with a loud voice.

"This lady over here is our worker. She had sexual relationship with the manager and his wife found out. She came to teach her a lesson today." One bold lady stepped out to say. She actually thought that the boss would be happy that she said the truth but reverse was the case.

"Okay. Go to the human resource and tender in your resignation. You don't want me to fire you as you know the consequences." Miles said.

"Didn't you hear what the boss said? Go and drop your resignation letter." The lady said to Layla, gloating obvious in her voice.

"And who said I was referring to her?" Miles asked unhurriedly.

"If you aren't referring to her,then who are you referring to?" The lady asked with a confused look.

"I'm sorry but it's you." Kingsley answered. He knew the boss was already getting annoyed.

"What!!" She shrieked out loud causing everyone to look at her with disdain.

"But I told the truth." The lady said. She really didn't know why he asked her to resign. This was the best opportunity for her to kick Layla out. Her relationship with the manager was to be kept secret.

"Are you sure you told the truth?" Miles asked. His eyes narrowed as he stared straight into her eyes.

On seeing the look,the lady has a premonition that something bad was about to happen soon and truly the next statement he uttered drained all the blood in her face.

"Mrs. Wilson, the lady you were persecuting is not the one who has a secret affair with your husband. She is a victim. Ask your husband if I'm lying or not." Miles said with a meaningful smile dancing on his lips.

Mrs. Wilson turned to her husband and he felt scared.

"Is that the truth?. Did you make me hit an innocent girl so you could continue with your real whore?" She asked,her patience already running thin.

"Yes." Mr. Wilson admitted.

"Who is she? Who is the slut. Answer me, would you?" Mrs. Wilson yelled.

He shakily pointed at someone and everyone turned to who his hands were pointing to.It was the girl who had spoke up before.

They were all shocked and Mrs. Wilson was so furious,she directly kicked her to the floor.

"Ahh!!" She screamed out loud.

"You lying cheating slut! How dare you sleep with my husband? Do you think you could get away with it?" Mrs. Wilson asked she violently beat her.

"Please, manager help me. Tell her you are the one who coerced me into it. I really didn't want you sleep with him." The lady cried out.

"Shut up! Valerie,I said keep quiet." The manager yelled. He didn't want his other secrets to be exposed.

Miles signaled for Kingsley to drag them out. He didn't want his mall to be crime scene.

He carried Layla in a bridal way before he strode out. Everyone in the mall was completely shocked. The manager and his wife including Valerie were sent out of the mall. He and Valerie were directly fired.

"We are sorry that you witnessed such a scene in our mall. To make up for it,the president said that you would have a 20% discount on what you shop for." Kingsley informed and the customers were cheered up immediately.

"Why didn't you fight back? Why did you allow her to bully you this way?" Miles asked he searched for the first aid kit.

"Probably because I know you would come to save me." Layla blurted out and she regretted saying it.

"Don't always rely on me." Miles said after a while.

He treated her injuries and being close to him, Layla saw how handsome he was and was tempted to caress him.

"The hospital called. Your mom is awake already." Miles said and Layla's eyes lit up immediately.

"What are we waiting for? Let's head there already. But Mr. John?" Layla asked.

"I have sent him home already. Let's go greet your mom. As her future son-in-law,I have to meet her soon." He said and Kira's face turned red.

Kingsley had entered the car already at this moment.

"Everything has been settled, president. Hello Miss. Layla." Kingsley said.

"Alright!"

"Hi, special Assistant Kingsley."

Miles and Layla said at the same time.

"Where are we headed to now?" He asked respectfully.

"The hospital." He responded as he closed his eyes tiredly.

Kingsley nodded before driving off.

They arrived at the hospital in about 30 minutes.

Layla ran into the hospital as soon as the car was parked.

"Mom!" Layla cried out as she stared at the frail figure on the bed.

"Layla,my child. Mom is safe. Do not cry." Kelly said trying to pacify the crying figure.

"Yes. Mom is alright! I won't cry anymore." Layla said wiping her tears.

"Why am I in this room? It looks so expensive." Kelly said looking at the room with trepidation.

"Auntie,I was the one who asked the doctors to put you in this exclusive room." Miles said. He had just come in to the room.

"Who are you? Layla,who is he?" Kelly asked staring at Miles with caution.

"Mom,he is my future husband." Layla said with her head lowered.

"What?" Kelly shouted looking at Layla in horror.

"If he is your future husband then what about Michael?" Asked Kelly with stern eyes.

"We are not together anymore." Layla muttered.

"Did you cheat on him?" Kelly asked already feeling disappointed.

"What?! No mom. I didn't." Layla subconsciously denied.

"In fact it was Michael who cheated on me. He said he never loved me. He hurled baseless accusations towards me. Do you expect me to stay with such a man?" Layla asked feeling hurt. She didn't understand why her mom made such speculations.

"But you still have to tell me why your health deteriorated so much that you had to go for an urgent surgery?" Layla asked it came to her mind.

"I got disgusting pictures about you from an anonymous sender." Kelly said passing a folder to her.

Layla gave a look to Miles who encouraged her to open it. Her mom was scrutinizing Miles.

On seeing what was in the folder, she subconsciously shouted.

"That's not me!!"
