Chapter 5 The meeting

It was morning and Amelia got up dressed in her workout attire ready to go to the gym, she went to the kitchen and asked her chef to make her a fruit salad for breakfast and also a milk shake to take along with her to the gym.

She was done with breakfast and just about when she was taking her gym bag, she heard footsteps from behind her and she said;

'Sarah you are all grown that trick doesn't work anymore'

and Sarah said

'of course, razor-sharp witch' they both laughed as the maid handed Sarah her own bottle of milk shakes for which she thanked her.

They got down to the garage and Sarah was about to get into Amelia's car when she asked if she didn't bring her car along and she said yes that it wouldn't start in the morning so she had it sent to the mechanic's workshop for repairs. They got in and drove to the gym.

After a long session at the gym they stopped by their favorite restaurant to have mac and cheese and also burgers, Sarah looking at the extra orders Melia made she said 'what an irony, you go to the gym to lose weight but here you are gaining them back in triple folds' Amelia laughed and said 'who said anything about losing weight, I go to the gym to stay fit not because I have identity crisis and want to look like a drumstick" they both laughed, she continued 'I am a proud, bold, thick gorgeous woman and I don't need anyone's validation for that and after all, the queen of wall street has to stay fit all the time' Sarah laughed and said 'you are absolutely right my friend' and she placed an order for an extra burger for take aways so she can salvage that at home.

Amelia looked at her watch and said she had to leave, it was exactly 10am in the morning and her meeting was for 2pm, so she had to go home on time, shower, get ready and leave for the office so she can go through the paper works and prep herself for the meeting before the client arrives. They both leave the gym, Amelia drives first to Sarah's house to drop her off and then heads home to prepare for her meeting.

After taking a cool shower she gets into her dressing room, confused of what to wear she stares around for like 30 seconds before she remembered who the client was keeping in mind his preference so she decided to dress down a bit. She got a baggy blue jean tucked in with a white big shirt she had to use a belt to hold; packed her hair up like a doughnut and wore a transparent medicated looking Gucci eyeglass of course with her makeup on fleek. And to crown the look she brought out her white newly bought Air Jordan snickers with a blue strap bag she wore across her shirt, she picked up her files, her bottle of freshly squeezed juice made for her by her chef and she headed out to work.

Getting there she saw someone who looked like Charles Hawthorn in joggers and snickers but of course it didn't occur to her that he was the one because he had no business being in the office that day since it was a weekend.

She went in and got to her office, while she was in going through the files Derek walked in wearing a suit and after seeing how dressed down she was he complained saying 'I know its weekend but this is an official meeting and you have to look the part, we are lawyers of the best firm in the country and don't you think this is a very careless behavior on your part' she looked at him for 5 seconds straight and said 'last I checked we were age mates so watch your tone and secondly worry about yourself and I will worry about me' she continued with her paperwork as he was about to leave the office she asked who was going to do the talking and he said he was and expressed his concerns on the chances of them loosing the deal due to her negligent way of dressing.

It was exactly 1:58pm when Amelia's secretary Klark told her the clients had arrived, as they

walked into the meeting room, behind them was Charles Hawthorn, looking dashing as ever. Amelia was in awe because he looked so good in his brown adidas joggers and white canvas with his black dim up eyeglass, walking into the room with class, swag and suave Amelia was short of words, she could literally see butterflies coming out of her stomach.

Charles wondering who the female was came closer and realized it was Amelia, looked at her with sparkles of love in his eyes, and asked what she was doing here considering the fact that this deal was solely Derek's responsibility, she noticed what was going on and had to do something or else Derek would be in big problem.

So, she told him as Derek's friend and co-worker she just decided to tag along in case he needed help, after all this is a win that will benefit not only Derek but everyone in the company, he smiled and commended her for her passion and love for the growth of the company.

That wasn't the first time he had praised her but for some reason Amelia felt different after hearing those words that it seemed he professed his love to her.

In the boardroom were the lawyers, a man in his 30s and a young adult in his early 20s, Derek cluelessly shooked hands with the older man addressing him as Mr. Barry Clayson, Amelia shocked and disappointed walked up to the young adult and said sorry for that misunderstanding good afternoon Mr. Clayson or should I call you Flash? He looked at her from her head to toe and said Flash would do and by the way nice sneakers, she thanked him and said she wasn't sure of which to wear but she knew this was it when she saw it so she just had to just do it, he looked at her deeply and smiled.

And asked if Air Jordan was her only Nike branded sneaker and she said no and if he wants to see her collection, he can follow her on Instagram but that would be a discussion for another time.

She signaled Derek giving him his cue to start the meeting, Derek spoke for 20 minutes straight and you could tell that flash wasn't interested in what he had to say so Amelia knew she had to salvage the situation quickly so she signaled Charles to call her phone and when he did her ringtone was Flash's favorite song, as the song played, he sang along forgetting they were in the office.

She apologized and turned it off, in excitement he told her that was his favorite song, she pretended like she knew and lied it was hers too, the song was a theme song from the movie 'The flash', after he said that she said 'wait don't tell me your idea to call your tech company FLASH came from that movie he smiled and said yes! she said now it all makes sense and called him a little Barry Allen genius, Charles not sure of the direction the conversation was taking trusted Amelia's ability to turn the tables in their favor.

They spoke a little about the movie and Amelia said to him 'it's amazing how you started this company when you were 18 years old and I must say the speed at which the company has grown is worthy of accolades but you know in this cutthroat world you'll require protection because just like individuals have enemies companies do and let's not even start with how the Anniston brothers are trying so hard to buy small scale tech companies all in the bid to take you company down and steal that spot from you. I know conversations like this bore you because you are more of the brains behind the wheels of FLASH but just like the speed your company uses to scale pass all their competition Hawthorn & Associates is going to serve as your legal protective backing.

I know there are tons of law firms trying to get this deal but the only thing I'll say is we are No 1 for a reason so let's form a team of justice leagues and take down all your haters, and I'll have to be Dianne, wonder woman just saying, she laughed. Flash stood up from his seat, everyone patiently waiting for his verdict he walked up to Amelia and said who's going to be Clark Kent and she smiled, he looked at Charles Hawthorn and said congratulations to him and awarded the contract of being the law firm handling all of FLASH'S legal dealings.
