Chapter 4 My wife

The car is heading towards the Rodriguez family Mansion. Edward has his own private Villa on the outskirts of the city. But today, He needs to bring his wife to his parent's house to visit his father who has returned after critical surgery.

Right now, Edward's eyes are on Charlotte. He finds the girl admirable. The beautiful white gown he designed for his company is looking utterly dashing on her. He canceled all the orders from the customers today who ordered this wedding dress. He didn't even miss making it more special and beautiful by redesigning its upper part.

However, He doesn't know the girl very well in front of him who accepted him as her husband. He only knows her name. Even though, his secretary Jay told him that he can get all information about her. But he wants to know everything personally. Wants to discover the person who never complains about her suffering.

" Is there something you want to say?"

Edward looks a little surprised when Charlotte asks him. She is still resting her head on her shoulder which is being supported by the tinted glass window. Her eyes are reflecting the light from outside. Her beautiful long curled hair reaches her shoulder. The dress is hugging her slim waist. Overall, Edward finds his wife exquisitely gorgeous. The distinct youthful smooth fair skin and the long neck with the diamond necklace he has gifted her to wear with the dress give her an outstanding look.

" You are beautiful. That's what I was trying to say!" He says straightforwardly, sounding sincere. Charlotte feels a sudden shivering in her chest but she chuckles softly tucking her hair behind her ear. Even the driver and his Assistant Jay find it awkward with his straightforwardness.

" Mr. Rodriguez is a really sweet talker. Thank you! You are also handsome. "

She smiles, but Edward finds it amusing to see her earlobes getting red and the tinted blush on her beautiful face. However, One thing makes him a little uncomfortable. It was her calling him Mr. Rodriguez. Suddenly, It builds an invisible wall between themselves. He realizes Charlotte needs time to accept him.

Staring outside, Charlotte was indeed thinking about how her parents didn't come back to say goodbye. She got married, They are not sad but expecting her to give them money or help their company.

But She felt awkward and a little shy when she noticed Edward's staring at her profoundly. He rested his head on his fist and kept watching her. She was unable to look at him because of his admiring eyes on her. Anyone would feel embarrassed and shy to look at those eyes. That's why she gathered her courage to ask her and she successfully did.

But She had never imagined, He would answer something like this in front of everyone. She purses her lips with shyness now. She wants to know this man slowly. Since her heart is still not fixed. She is afraid of falling in love again.

Both of them have their insecurities and fear, lost in thoughts. The car, in the meantime, arrives in front of the entrance gate of the Mansion.

" Boss! We have arrived!"

Edward nods and Charlotte looks at him, watching Jay escorting him out of the car discreetly. By arranging her gorgeous dress together which has taken half of the place of the back seat, She turns to open the door. But Surprising her, Edward opens the door, in his wheelchair, He extends his arm to her.

" If my Lady gives me the chance to escort her out!!"

To be honest, Charlotte feels like it is a dream she is experiencing. Not because of marrying such a good and prestigious family. But The way, her husband is treating her. If she thinks of Brian in Edward's position, She can't imagine that Brian would have given as much attention to her as Edward is giving.

She didn't hesitate to place her soft and beautiful hand on his. She feels honored to be treated this way.

" I am honored to be escorted out by His Highness!"

Edward looks a little surprised that his earlobes turn red. He gently squeezes her hand and helps her to get off. Later, signals the servants who are waiting for them outside.

" Help your Madam to walk. " Giving the sweetest smile towards her, Edward grabs her hand and slowly approaches the door. Charlotte feels respect for the Servants which she never got at her own house.

" Welcome! I was waiting for you!"

A beautiful and appealing voice comes from the door. Charlotte is carefully stepping on so that she doesn't trip over as she is wearing a gorgeous dress that touches the ground. When she hears that beautiful voice She looks up. The voice is full of sweetness and warmth.

But Making her more astonished, A gorgeous woman, at 50 is standing in front of the main door of the house. She looks elegant, her eyes are full of love and warmth, Her appearance is enough for someone to feel better.

Most importantly, Charlotte's eyes are on her, as if she is frozen on the spot. Edward frowns, trying to understand what happened to his wife. But he didn't understand at all.

" Mom! Why are you here? It's cold outside!"

Edward broke the silence. But Making him stunned once again, Charlotte hugs Mrs Rodriguez who is holding a beautiful Bouquet of Hydrangea which is Edward's favorite flower.

Mrs Rodriguez is shocked, She didn't expect that her daughter-in-law would be that much emotional that she would hug her on their first meeting. Even though She joined the wedding but she didn't have time to meet her at all.

" How are you, Sweetheart? Are you missing your Parents already?" Mrs. Rodriguez is thinking that she is maybe homesick already. Marriage is something emotional but.

" I can't believe that I am standing here in front of my Idol. Mrs. Amber, I am your big fan. I studied fashion design because I was in love with your designs!"

Charlotte almost screams, excitedly she locks Mrs Rodriguez's hands in hers. She looks so overwhelmed that her eyes are getting teary.

" It was surprising!" Jay speaks while watching them. Edward chuckles softly, witnessing how joyfully she is explaining her feelings towards his mother about her famous design.

" You are also a fashion designer!!! That's great!! Which works of mine do you like most? I have some in my closet, Shall we try them? I wanna see if they look so good on you or not!"

Edward facepalms himself seeing his wife and mother are going crazy for their design. That they have no idea they are still outside and they need to meet Dad first. He clears his throat before approaching them.

" Can't we first meet Dad? He is waiting to meet Charlotte!"

" Oh! Crap!! I am sorry, Sweetheart. I wanted to act like a typical bad mother-in-law. You got me..!"

Mrs Rodriguez pouts giving Charlotte the flower bouquet. Charlotte giggles happily, wrapping her hand around Mrs. Rodriguez's arm.

" OK. My Bad Mother in law. Let's go meet my good father-in-law first. Later I will enjoy your actions as a bad mother-in-law!"

" Yes. Let's go!"

Charlotte nods happily walking by her mother-in-law's side. Edward releases a big Sigh, he asks Jay to enter the house. The corner of his lips curves up a little bit, He is jealous that his wife has left him alone. It would be great if both of them enter the house together, holding their hands softly.

" I was worried that she would feel pressured after coming here since it's a new place for her. Seems like I am overthinking She is good with adapting the new place!"

" I think Auntie will help her to be comfortable with the new place. I heard people who share the same interests can make any place comfortable with each other.."

Entering the hall room, Jay says while helping Edward sit on the couch. Edward smiles thinking about themselves. If Charlotte is a fashion designer, He also loves designing since childhood. They may create great chemistry with each other.

As Edward sits down, Someone comes downstairs with a little girl. She notices Edward is sitting on the couch all alone and smiles at him.

" It's been a while, Edward!"

Edward looks up when he hears a familiar voice. Later he gives his professional smile.

" It's been a while, Dr Shayne! What brings you here today?"

" I had to come with your father. Where were you? I have been looking for you!"

Shayne Will, 25 years old, is The new family doctor of the Rodriguez family, Edward's consultant, and a medical genius. She is working for him it's already been two years.

" Hey! Suzy!! Did you meet your grandpa?"

Without answering her questions unintentionally, Edward touches his niece, his little brother's daughter who is three years old.

" Big Dadda! I have met Grandpa! He told me when he will be alright, He will buy me chocolate every day!" Suzy Rodriguez, 3, a sweet, lovely, and adorable girl, while talking slowly, she crawls onto her uncle who loves her so much.

" Really? What about my chocolate? You can't eat more than three per day!"

Suzy pouts, She is not allowed to eat so many sweets for her teeth but she always ends up eating more secretly.

Edward chuckles pinching the tip of her nose playfully. Shayne is watching them happily. As she is admiring them together so much.

" Where is Auntie? She says she will give us a surprise and went out!"

Looking around, She speaks, Edward smiles warmly, shifting his attention upstairs.

" Maybe upstairs. "

" I didn't see. Did she go to Uncle's room? I was sleeping because of my jetlagged body!"

She says softly, trying to touch Suzy's hair. Edward still keeps staring at the upstairs however, Shayne frowns seeing how soft and gentle he is looking. Unlike usual, He isn't treacherous and unapproachable. There has a warm smile on his lips, His Eyes are softened, has no trace of coldness.

" Did something happen Recently? You look more comfortable and fresh!" Shayne couldn't stop herself from asking. She is jealous over the matter of what makes him so soft. He never smiled when he was with her in the hospital.

" Maybe!!"

His answer makes her more impatient. She also looks upstairs but she immediately stands up with widened eyes, when she notices the dress that he designed a few weeks ago, is worn by someone who she doesn't know.

But her heart beats faster, seeing her wearing the ring that is Rodriguez's family's heirloom. What passes down to their next mistress of the house?

" Who is this?". She asks nervously, She can't imagine the worst, not trying to believe that Edward is wearing so preciously because he is the one who got married.

" My Wife!" He sounds proud.
