Chapter 8 Twist of Fate

Author's POV

Varun gazed at Anbu for a good few minutes before cracking up in laughter.

" Omg, haa haa just look at your face " saying this he again burst into laughter.

Anbu was perplexed for a few seconds, seeing him laughing like a maniac when the realisation hit her.

He pranked her.

" Hey bulldozer, do I look brainless ? Why would I love you ? I have better options you know " varun spoke with such an attitude.

Greeting her teeths in anger she glared at him and started to hit him here and there.

" Ouch, women stop. I'm driving, ohh....hey " helplessly he had to stop his car in the middle of the road otherwise they would end up in an accident.

Anbu ignored all his pleadings, she was determined to finish him today

How dare he pranked her ? For a moment she was thinking about all the negative things which could happen in the near future. She was really terrified by his sudden proposal because she didn't know how to react to it, till now she has seen him as a good friend but his sudden proposal made her question their friendship.

" Hey bulldozer stop, ouch " varun hardly spoke as he got some good amount of smack on his head .

" You, cracko , idiot, you scared the shit out of me, you gave me a mini heart attack dumbo." Anbu cursed him, she hit him one more time and sat on her seat adjusting her dupatta.

" Ohh yeahhh, the great bulldozer got scared. " Varun mimicked her while he started the car again.

" Don't you dare to call me that, I'm telling you I'll kill you varun " anbu warned him showing her big doe like eyes. Her nose was red due to her peak of anger.

Varum chuckled and concentrated on his driving.

" Okay okay chill, I'm sorry. " Varun finally apologised to her.

" Hmm " Anbu made faces at him.

" Well, let's talk about Rishi. " Varun tried to change the topic as he knew she won't let him in peace.

A shy smile appeared on Anbu's face as soon as she heard Rishi's name. Varun too noticed that.

" Goash, you're in love " varun cheered in joy

Anbu bites her lips, preventing herself from smiling wildly while listening to what her friend says.

" What are you even talking about, i Just.. " anbu tried to hide her blush. She is really embarrassed. This isn't what she expected. How can he find out her secret effortlessly ?

" Hello Madam, it's all over written on your face that you're in love with him. Didn't you realise how your expression changed as soon as I took Rishi's name. " Varun spoke with confidence. He's damn sure about her love. As a guy he knows how, why and what can change a girl's mood instantly.

" umm... Nothing like that, " Anbu blambared avoiding eye contact with him. It's not like she wants to hide her love from her friends, she's just so embarrassed and shy to confess things now. Already she faced a lot of embarrassment at Rishi's apartment, although those were good memories yet she needs to calm herself First.

" Ohh come on , don't hide things from your best friends. " Varun said, showing all his teeths.

" Says the one who disappeared all these years without even informing his friends " anbu mocked him while she looked out of the window.

It was enough to plaster his non-stop mouth. Anbu knew there's something else behind his disappearance all these years. But she thought to ask him once after reaching her home safely, because still the walking tsunami of her life is waiting for her - her father.

Varun wasn't upset nor he felt bad, he knew whatever she said was right. And he deserves her taunting. He kept mum till they reached Swati's home.

Few minutes of driving, they reached Swati's place.

Anbu got out of the car and went inside while Varun followed her.

" Finally you're here "

Both of them heard Swati's joyful voice, who was already waiting for them in the hall.

Anbu hugged her friend Swati in relief. Swati hugged her back.

" Girls I'm also here " varun said, still standing at the same place.

" Stay there only, " Swati spoke glaring at him and Anbu laughed at her.

Partying away from each other all of them sat on their respective places, anbu and swati took the couch while varun sat on the other couch.

" You know, this idiot pooped out of nowhere this morning. I almost got a heart attack when I saw him Suddenly. Money was so excited to see you. Swati said and eyed Varun .

Anbu nodded her head in agreement as she could sense his excitement because she too felt the same .

" Of course, it's been years since I met you girls. I was really curious about your looks, I didn't have any expectations with swati. But anbu woah....you have become a beautiful bulldozer " saying that he got a smack in return from swati.

Poor boy, from when he met his friends the only thing he's getting is smacks and punches.

" I'm telling you, both of you become violent, I pity your future husband. " Varun mumbled when he rubbed his head.

" Where's uncle and aunty ? Anbu asked, ignoring Varun's blambares.

" Dad had gone out to buy some groceries and mom must be in the kitchen, she must be cooking something for you guys as she knows about your arrival " anbu explained glancing at varun who was staring at her with a blank face.

" Ohh ok " Anbu replied, noticing how Varun was staring at swati.

" So, did he tell you why he went to the US without telling us ? " Swati asked Anbu hoping that Varun must have shared his issues with Anbu.

Anbu shook her head looking at Swati, " let's give him some time. He just came now, let's wait till he himself opens up " swati nodded at her anbu's words.

Varun was just blankly looking at both of them, he was clueless about what to answer them.

He was trying his best to look normal. It's just his eyes that betray him every time. The thing which he's trying to hide is clearly visible in his eyes - love.
