Chapter 5 SECRET

I touched my heart when i felt a sharp pain in my chest, i lowered down in pain. my eyes blurred, it was strange when i noticed this.

"Are you okay?" Scot asked with deep concern.

"I don't know yet but I'm okay," i interpolated and checked on the injured part of my chest. It was very serious.

"Do you know what's going on with you, Scot?" I asked expecting the best words that could solve all my problems.

"The process is at the extreme.We need to act fast or you will not be able to join me in the further research that we will soon carryout."

"What can i do now to survive and what's this research all about?" I asked.

"Forget about the purpose of the research for now cause any released information can be trap as fast as possible."

"Let's focus on your survival."

"How will that work?"

"Don't panic, i had studied this for eyes but found nobody to test it on, now that you're here, hope it works perfectly on you."

Perfectly on me how? I exclaimed. Hope it works, i said with a low tone.

"So are you ready?" He asked hurriedly.

"I have no option, do whatever you want." I said merely, hoping everything worked out for me.

"Look into my eyes," he commanded

"I stood firm and did as he commanded me to."

Focus on my eyeballs, anything you see don't lose concentration or that will only help your blóòd to run fast in the rock." He warned strictly.

'Okay,' i beckoned.

I stared directly into his eyes. I was scared that something bad will happen to me if i lost concentration.

The more i stared into his eyes the more i saw different pictures of different things, i was unable to see Scot again.

"Looking for someone," i heard a voice from the blank environment i found myself in.

I looked around nobody was beside me.

"Awwwnnn, you look scared, don't be scared I'm yours," the voice paused and laughed.

"Show yourself."

"Awwwnn, you really wanna see me, Favor, then look around." The voice whispered into my ear.

I turned around carefully, i was shock to see someone i never expected.

"Mum!! "I exclaimed. I never expected to see my mom again. "What are you doing here? are you dead?" I asked confusingly.

She wore her usual dress, very beautiful and simple, her hair rested peacefully on her shoulder.

She wasn't responding to my words, her face was filled with sorrow. She walked upto me and embraced me.

i surrendered my hand and hugged her back.

"Daughter? What're you doing here?" She asked calmly. Her voice was different from the person who communicated with me earlier.

Please come let go back home, she pleaded.

"Home? How?" I asked surprisingly. Because I was sent here to stop the process how come about going back home, this a very nice idea.

"Come with me, Favor. Everything is gonna be okay." Her words were filled with emotions.

"Okay let go." She turned around and took some steps forward into the narrow space.

I followed her peacefully. Atleast i found someone that i miss so much, someone to talk to

I stopped moving when i remembered what Scot told me about losing concentration.

"What's wrong Favor?" She asked when she noticed i wasn't following her anymore.

"Mom, is there anything you're keeping from me?" I asked suspiciously.

"No!! Any problem, my daughter?" She walked back to me.

"Someone told me." I paused. I can't disclose any information to her.

"Mom, I'm sorry, i can't come with you, i belong here, till everything is over. I took my steps back from her."

"Daughter, this place is not safe for you, he's just using you to get what he wants."

Her words got my attention.

"Surprised?" She asked and looked directly into my eyes.

"Who's he?" I asked to be sure.

"Your new friend Scot."

"Wow," I exclaimed.

I broke down in disappointment, i never believed Scot just wanted to use me and not help me as he claimed to.

"Don't be sad, it always happens to everybody, you just need to trust yourself and not people, we all change with time."

"So can we go now," she said putting out her hand to support me.

I stared at her in the eyes.

"Can i ask you something Mom? "

"Yes, you're free."

"What's our secret code?" I asked to confirm if she was truly my mom.

She smiled at me.

"Enjoy every moment while it lasts," She stared at me for confirmation.

I kept quiet and closed my eyes.

"You're wrong and you're not my mother."

She moved at furious speed and gripped me by the neck.

"You're right I'm not your mother but it's already too late to go back." She groaned at me.

I knew she wasn't my mother when she failed to provide the secret code that only me and my mother knew about.

"Let go of me?" I struggled to break free from her hand but she was too strong and wasn't ready to let go of me.

"Awwwnn, Favoe, you thought you're smart but you ain't. Just give up 'cause there's nowhere going back from here." She smiled at me who was still struggling to break free from her hand.

"Just calmdown, Favor, in just few minutes everything will be over and you will be gone for good."

She released my netck and forced me to move forward in the narrow space. I did as she ordered.

I walked through the narrow space, it was just a blank world, nothing to hold on to, just an open space.

I stopped when i noticed i was at the edge of the narrow and any more steps further might be the end of this process.

"As you can see this is the end of the road," I said to her boldly.

"Yes, you should understand what that means, without me telling you?" She asked smartly.

"No, I don't understand anything."

"Hahaha," she laughed. "Just jump and everything will be okay. "

"I can't." I object for survival.

"Will you do it the easy way or i will make you do it the hardway?" She asked sparing me that angry look.

"Okay," i turned around and faced her. She was surprised to see me do that.

I stared directly into her eyes, the same way Scot ordered me to do earlier.

"Hope, you know I'm not joking with you, just turn around and jump down."

I didn't pay attention to her words, i just concentrated on her eyeball.

I feel the connection that happened earlier between me and Scot going on again, i was seeing different pictures displaying on my face.

Out of anger, she ran back and pushed me off the cliff.

"No!!" I screamed as my body went down the cliff.

"Wake up Favor." A familiar voice said to me.

I opened my eyes Scot was staring at me. My body was on the floor

"Congratulations for coming back, i thought you were gone for good." He gave me a support hand to get off the floor.

I sat on the floor.

i was very happy that i was back.

My happiness ended when i noticed something different in Scot face.
