Christian Moore's POV
My mind barely focused on the trees and people as I drove past the road. She was on my mind. I got her pregnant. But how sure was she that I was the one who got her pregnant? What if she has already had sex with another man after I broke her virginity that night? She was right. I was her first.
I saw the blood that night. Her tears were visible.
I have never felt so worried for a woman like this. For me, women are just like clothes. I get tired of them easily but this particular woman, I just can't get her out of my mind ever since I fucked her.
I have fucked different women but she was different. She was too different. And I can't seem to get her out of my head too. And now she is pregnant with me? What the heck am I going to do? And she was saying something about not keeping the baby. I can't allow her to terminate it.
It's my child. I have a feeling.
But I just can't conclude that. Maybe this was my chance to make it up to my parents. They have always wanted me to have a child. But I am still not sure yet.
Getting back to the warehouse, I met Eric seated on the chair sipping a glass of wine. Eric could be described as my business partner, my lawyer, and most of all, my close friend.
"Hey, buddy." He said, standing up as soon as he saw me.
We shook hands and we sat down.
"I actually can't believe what you told me on the phone. You got a woman pregnant?" He asked with a loud voice.
"Hey, keep it down. Don't say it like that. It's very disgusting."
"Yes, but it wasn't disgusting when you were fucking her. Oh, Christian. You are screwed." He said.
"That's why I need your help. I need you to advise me. I don't know what to think anymore.."
"You said she came to your office right? Then why not accept her? You said you were the one who broke her virginity too right?"
"Yes, I was the one."
"Then I think you have found the right woman for the plan, Christian. You could use it to your advantage."
"To my advantage? What do you mean?"
"Your parents have been bothering you to at least get married. This is your chance, dude."
"Hey, I don't love her okay? It was just a night thing."
"I know. But if you don't love her, we can do it this way too."
"Why not marry her now and divorce her after she gives birth to the baby?"
"But I can't. It was just a one-night stand. I can't get married to a woman I just knocked up. I barely even know her. I don't even know her name."
"You are so amazing, dude. How could you not know her name?"
"I don't know."
"What plans have you made?"
"I already had someone investigate her. The person. Should be here any minute."
Just then Mark came. He was my investigator.
"This what you have asked for, sir," Mark said and handed the file over to me.
"So what did you find about her?"
"What's her name?" I asked.
"Her name is Meyer Gomez and according to Investigation, she is twenty-four years old. She is single and I heard that her mother just died."
Oh, I was two years older than her.
Her mother just died?
"She is an orphan and she works as a waitress in a club."
So she was right when she said she wasn't a stripper. But what made her become a stripper overnight?
"And according to what I heard sir, she was arrested."
"What? Arrested? For what?"
"According to what I heard sir, a man died because of her."
Died?
But she doesn't look like someone who would kill another person. She looked so soft and gentle.
I sighed. "you can go, Mark. I will transfer the remaining payment to you."
"Yes sir."
Mark left.
"This is where you should come in, Christian."
"What?"
"Yes. This is your chance to get her out of jail. And right there, you would offer her the contract to sign in exchange for her freedom."
I nodded slowly.
"You can't allow her to stay in the prison with your child. She is carrying your child. And if words get out to the public, your reputation will be dragged in the mud. Trust me."
"But what if she killed someone truly?"
"From the way you have described her, she doesn't look like someone who would kill someone. Her mother just died." Eric said.
"You are right," I muttered.
"So you just have to find out the police station she is and get her out of there on the account that she signed the contract and that she agrees to it."
Yes, Eric is right. I needed to go find her and hear her part of the story.
~~
"She is in prison because of that man. He lied to her and deceived her so he could sleep with her. Then she defended herself but in the process, from what I heard, Mr. Lopez died." Meyer's friend, Miley explained what had happened and I believed it.
That disgusting old man deserves to be locked up in jail and killed.
"Which police station is she?"
"I will take you there," Miley said and we both went there together.
As I drove, Miley pleaded.
"Please do all you can to help my friend. She needs your help. Mr. Lopez's wife refused to drop the charges even after finding out that her husband was the one at fault."
I nodded. I needed to help her.
When we got to the police station, we requested to see Meyer and they brought her out to see us. Miley excused herself just for me to allow me to talk to Meyer.
"What are you doing here?" She asked looking pale and stressed out. Anger laced her tone.
"I heard what happened to you and I am here to help you get out."
"To help me get out? I don't need your help. Shove it down your throat and get out of here." She said angrily.
"I am here to help you."
"I said get..."
"I am accepting the pregnancy."
Then she stopped and looked into my eyes.
"What? So now you are ready?"
"Yes, and I am ready to marry you too."
Then she burst into laughter.
"Are you here to make fun of me?" She asked suddenly frowning her face
"I don't need your pity."
"I am accepting the pregnancy and you will get married to me if you want to get out of here."
"What did you say? Are you trying to buy me into this in exchange for my freedom?"
"What if I tell you yes?"I replied.
"Then you are insane." She blurted.
