Chapter 5 Arranged marriage-five

Anna stood on her feet, took two steps towards Reid but he ordered her to stop.

"Where do you think you're going to?" He yelled at her.

"Coming closer to you of course, is there anything wrong with it? Aren't you the man..."

"Who covered the nakedness of the lady that went viral on the net. Isn't it?" He chipped in. After his encounter with Anna on that day, he returned home to see a viral photo streaming in the net-a photo of a naked lady, and he recognised that it was the lady he met in the resort.

But he didn't bother over that, he wiped it off his mind and concentrated on the burden on his shoulder.

She swallowed her saliva. "Uhmm! That's not it."

"This is not why we're here Reid, someone did that to damage her reputation." Mr Blake added, he would do anything possible for his son to get married and damage their dignity the most.

Reid turned to his father. "You really want me to get married to this bitch huh?'

"I'm not a bitch, you scumbag." Anna cursed, her eyes filled up with tears already.

This was exactly what she was dodging, seeing that her father wasn't saying anything to defend her. Anyways, he already told her to be strong enough in order to defend herself.

"I'll cancel this marriage, it can't take place." Reid made a move, but she held him. "You have to kill me before doing that, just kill me already." Her voice was polite, she wouldn't want to miss that opportunity.

"I'm against the marriage as well." A feminine voice came from the stairs, as their eyes darted over there.

Mrs Wilson walked down to the sitting room. "This rotten brat can't get married to my son no matter what."

Anna stared at her face but found it familiar.

"She's the one who embarrassed me at the conference meeting." The not too old woman added.

Reid released a loud hiss and walked away from them, she tried stopping him the second time but couldn't.

Her heart went astray until her father was done having a conversation with Blake, then they left for home.

"You don't have to be scared, Anna, he will still come back to his senses and search for you."

"Was that the assurance Mr Blake gave you after seeing what her wife did there?" She blurted.

He glanced at her. "But why would you embarrass her that way?"

"She's so annoying for goodness sake." She snapped and faced the window.

Throughout the day, she had him in her mind. Despite it being an arranged marriage, she still longs to hold him tight. Not because she already fell in love with him, but because he seemed to be the only hope she had of restoring her reputation.

"Will he help me find the culprit? He should, right?" She smiled widely, taking a long breath.

The night was too long for her as she contemplated everything until she dozed off only to wake up with a message in her cell phone from an unknown contact.

It was the address of a company that she was to visit before noon, and she strongly believed that it was him who dropped the message. "Babel's group! That's his company..." she pulled her lips into a slight smile.

"But how did he get my contact?" She twisted her lips. "Maybe from Instagram." She smiled and stood up, rushed into the bathroom in order to begin dressing up.

It took her a few hours to get fully ready to leave, her father was busy in the sitting room when she climbed down.

"Where to?"

"Babel's group, I got a message from an unknown number to come over there before noon." She explained.

He sighed deeply. "Now who are you going there to see?"

"The CEO of course, I'll ask about his office once I reach." She assured him.

He bid her a goodbye until she drove off from the compound, it was a long journey that taking a flight might help but she counted it as a part of suffering awaiting her.

When she arrived at Babel's group, the company was too enormous beyond her imagination. There were lots of workers walking here and there and it was very busy.

She gathered courage and walked up to one of them. "I'm here to see the CEO."

The young lady took a good look at her from the head to her toe. "Does this look like a brothel to you? And what will the CEO be doing with a naked woman who went viral on the net?" She hissed aloud and walked out.

Seeing as many eyes fell on her, she decided to be herself, walking to the elevator she met a young man coming out of an office.

"What's the last floor number sir?"

"158."

She walked into the elevator and within minutes she found herself in the last floor, her belief was that the CEO's office would be there just like hers in her company.

Then she began searching for the office. It took her a lot of time that she even stumbled into a lady who almost slapped her, but she dodged it.

Still walking, she came in sight of a young man walking out of an office, he stared at the doorpost to see the position written there.

"Who are you looking for?" The young man asked her.

She peeped into the office to see Reid seated but busy.

"Him...I want to see him.."

"Aren't you the..."

"Let her in..." Reid interrupted.

He nodded and ordered Anna into the office before he left, although he was well convinced that it's the person he was talking about.

Anna stood in his presence, staring around the office.

Gosh! His father wasn't lying. They are darn wealthy to cover up her nakedness.

"You're late." He mumbled.

"I came with my car, instead of taking a flight." She replied politely.

He took a look at her. "Get seated."

She sat on the chair opposite him.

"I wasn't expecting you to come, because it's an arranged marriage."

"But since I'm here, it's proof that I'm interested in it." She uttered.

He dropped his pen and lifted his face. "Do I look like one mad man that could have gotten a wife just that way? I have a taste and choice, having a lunatic like you as a wife won't work."

She bit her lower lips. "Then why did you call me over when you're aware that it won't work? You should have forgotten everything about me."

"Accept this marriage and face hell."

"I've already accepted it, and I'm ready to face hell." She blurted.

The doorbell rang and a young man walked in, he walked to Reid breathing heavily.

"That was really hectic."

"Look Felix..."

"Felix?" She muttered, drawing the attention of the young man.

Their eyes met, filled with shock, while Reid stared the both of them trying to figure out what's going on.
