Chapter 5 Party Girl

The party was the talk of school and it was well anticipated. I didn't feel much excitement about it unlike Ehi and Patty who already had ideas of what to wear to the party. I have decent enough clothes but I don't think I have party outfits. This would have been the perfect time to raid Angelica's closet. She has such great sense of fashion, she goes to a public high school and is exposed to such things.

We completed our lectures for the day and went back to the hostel. The girls had the room a mess with clothes looking for something to wear to the party while I on the other hand sticked to my norms. I picked out a black Bell bottom jeans and a knitted sweater top with a pair of white sneakers, they say you never go wrong with white sneakers.

I tied my hair up in a tight bun and walked out to the room. The girls turned to look at me and I could see the questions on their faces

"Please don't tell me you're wearing that to the party"

I looked at myself again, it isn't so bad.

Ehi simply staring at me like 'Wha'da hell! ' kinda look.

"Isn't okay? Looks decent" I asked even though I knew I would look so odd at the party.

"Pretty come on, it's a party we're not going grocery shopping" Patty dragged me closer.

"Speaking of groceries, we're out of stock"

She looked for a dress for me to wear from her closet after several pleads, I agreed to wear it. It was a black flare dress with flower details on the chest, it had tiny straps and the dress stopped on my upper legs. I've never wore something like this out.

She offered makeup but I declined. I applied my face moisturizer and lip balm and we were on our way to Sophia's house were the party was being held. We took a cab there and all through our ride they talked about their expectations.

The place was crowded and the music was blaring. The strong smell of alcohol irritated my nose and made my stomach a bit upset. It was a fine duplex with beautiful interiors, the colorful lights couldn't let me see properly.

"Watch it!" I bumped into a girl "I'm sorry" I said quickly

I looked around and I couldn't find Patty neither Ehi. I started panicking a bit, I rubbed my hand on my chest anxiously looking around for them but I could barely see properly with the lighting. I found a couch and sat down. This is gonna be a long night.

I sat on the couch for a while staring down at my legs. People were dancing and some were drinking themselves to stupor. I really shouldn't have come

"Pretty?" I looked up and it was Ehi, I stood up and let out a sigh

"We've been looking everywhere for you, come" she held my hand and pulled me along. A guy tried to touch me, I pushed him away

"Hey don't be so uptight we can have a good time" he reeked of alcohol. I waved the air off and walked pass him. We went up the stairs and they were less people.

It was a smaller sitting room with a mini bar at the left end. Sophia walked out and hugged me, she smelled so nice and packed her hair in a messy bun..

"You look... Beautiful! You always do but differently beautiful today"

She complimented smiling widely.

"You look beautiful too Sophia, thanks"

I replied. She wore a beige cargo mini skirt and a mustard V-neck top exposing skin.

We went to where the others were, Patty was there with a blonde guy. Zayn, Teddy, Brian and some other popular people at school were there too. I guess this is the... what do you call it now, yeah the VIP section.

Sophia did some introductory to a few people but I could only pick out Mia, she's in Sophia's friend group too like Teddy and Brian. She's also brunette like Teddy and seems very friendly like Sophia, they all are expect Zayn, he's quite cold.

He sat on the couch opposite me with Sophia, he was drinking and chatting with Brian and they were laughing about something discreetly. He wore a black jean, black top that clinged to his body revealing his abs and biceps and a rugged denim jacket. His black hair was looking scattered but lovely, he's kinda really handsome.

Shit Pretty! My subconscious knocked me off, what was I thinking checking him out. I looked around to make sure nobody caught me doing that.

"Let's play a game!!" Brian suggested and everyone agreed immediately.

everyone turned to look at me and I nodded in approval, it's just a game isn't?.

"So it's spin the bottle"

Brian says again and a bottle was placed on the table in the middle

I didn't really understand the game, I've heard about the 'Spin the bottle' game, it's quite popular among young people. Some girls talked about it at the hostel back in highschool but I've never witnessed it.

"I don't know how to play the game"

I whispered to Ehi but it was loud enough for everyone to hear. They all turned to me

"Who doesn't know how to play this game?" Zayn said in a scoff and they laughed.

"Zayn don't talk to Pretty like that"

Sophia said and they kept it low. She gave me a reassuring smile, I forced back a smile. I don't feel good about this

The game started, the bottle was spinned by one of the guys. Everyone was eager to know who it stops at. I prayed silently

It stopped at a girl named Lily, she's also a famous at school. The guy who spin the bottle smirked.

"T or D" he said and she picked D.

What does that even mean, I think I've heard the girls in hall 2 saying something similar back in highschool. It was always the girls in Hall 2, they knew all sort of things.

"How about some nice lap dance?" His lips were in a naughty smirk.

A lap dance? Lily stood up and walked to him, he opened his legs and relaxed back into the couch. She sat on him dancing and grinding her body on him while everyone cheered her on. This game doesn't seem right, I hope the bottle never stops on me.

The game went on and on, Ehi kissed a guy, Sophia twerked, another girl was asked to take three items from her body and all the while they all seemed to be having fun. Zayn sat out and spins the bottle.. it kept spinning and I couldn't get my eyes off it hoping it doesn't stop on me. It was spinning slower, I closed my eyes

"T or D? Brooks"

Brooks? Brooks? That's me! I opened my eyes and everyone was staring at me. What is he going to make me do now? Oh the ground just open and take me.

Ehi nudged me with her elbow, I turned to look at her and she gestured me to answer.

Seriously I'm confused now cause either way Something bad happens.

"Come on girl we don't have all day"

one of the guys yelled and I quickly replied without even thinking,what was there to think about anyway?

"Dare it is then" he scorned.

This wicked boy, what is he going to make me do now? Tell me to lick the floor or jump like a kangaroo, please let it be that.

"Make out with any guy of your choice" he said and I felt my body tremble.

What? Does he mean like kissing?

"Wa..What? Li..like kiss?"

I questioned back

"However way you want to put it" he replied jeering

"There's no way am doing that" I retorted and stood up. There's no way anyone is making me do something like that, it's not obligatory.

"Well you should know the consequences of disapproval" he said pouring the bottle of drink he was holding into a glass. He's going to make me drink alcohol?

"What consequences?"

I asked and he raised a bottle of alcohol, Vodka,gin?

"I don't drink"

The last thing I want this night is going against Mum's words and my promises. I've been doing that since I got here but this seemed a bit overboard.

"Two things, take five shots of this or make out?" Five? Isn't that too much for such a silly game?

"Stop, what are you doing?" Sophia whispered to him. She looked at me and nodded her head "it's okay if you don't want to do it" she said.

"Sophy that will be unfair to everyone else here, she has two options and that is fair" a guy said, I don't remember his name now.

I can't make out with a guy, no way! I can't believe this,first I agreed to attend a party, wore such a short dress and now I'm about to drink alcohol, this night can't get any worst.

I agreed to take it, I took the first glass and I almost puked, it was so hot I felt a burning sensation. I gulped down the second and I started feeling dizzy, my joints felt like they were going numb. I stretched my glass for the third shot, he took the glass from me and took the remaining shots. Sophia smiled and rubbed his shoulder.

"Are you feeling okay?" Ehi asked. I sat down and placed my hand on my temple, my head started to ache.

"I'm fine" I squeezed out of my lips. I stood up and staggered a bit

"Pretty are you okay?"

I nodded

"I just need to use the restroom" I said and walked out. I walked into the hallway to find the restroom. Everywhere seemed blur and all I could see were doors. I opened one and a girl and boy were making out, I closed it, disgusting!

I tried to open another door but it was locked. I got to the end of the hallway and opened the last door

"Oh finally"

I dropped my purse on the bed and went into the bathroom,I puked in the sink, my head ached badly and my stomach was upset.

I washed my face and looked into the mirror, hmm.

I walked out into the bedroom and fell on the bed,

I heard the door open and close and footsteps but I shrugged it off and just closed my eyes, I was feeling really dizzy.

"What are you doing here?" I heard a voice say.

I opened my eyes and it was Zayn

I have no idea why but I laughed

"You! Sophia's little rude boyfriend, what are you doing in my room?"

I was feeling really strange and sleepy too,the head ache persisted. I stood up and walked to him, I've never really looked at him up close. His was a little taller than me and my head was under his jaw, I raised my face to his. His eyes are dark brown and he has really nice nose with small nostrils.

"You're so cuteeeee!!" I dragged his nose and giggled,

wait! Mum said not to talk or go close to boys.

I slapped his cheek

"Mum doesn't like me talking to you males, you're evil and dangerous so get out of my room right now or I'll call security"

I said and turned away from him.

I walked back to the bed and fell on it, my eyes were shutting slowly. I turned to the other side and saw him still standing there

"Ugh..didn't you hear what I said? you're invading let me get me get some sleep, it's really cold"

I pulled the duvet over myself and soon I was fast asleep.
