Chapter 4 Wedding

"That's lame feedback, isn't it? I can't afford to let you have a moment of happiness, never!" Mr Smith's voice resonates with so much anger.

"But she's done nothing wrong!" Mrs Smith interjects.

Mr Smith shrugs, "That's none of my business, Her mother did it anyways and she's paying for it"

"Or won't you give up yourself for her? She should be ready to do the same for you!" His lips pull up into a wicked grin.

"You are a monster!" Mrs Smith accuses.

"No, not a monster. I'm worse than that, I'll say... I am a devil, yeah, that's the best" Mr Smith corrects.

A wave of regret hovers over Mrs Smith at the realization of the person she married in the name of a husband.

"I hate you so much that I wish I was never entangled with you in the first place" her voice laced with pain.

Mr Smith chuckles, "Too bad you are, and until I say a word, you will forever be bound to me"

Mrs. Smith angrily turns her heels and walks out of the room in a hurry. She is broken and sad, because of her, her daughter is now bound to live a life she's never wanted.

*Two days later*

Daisy stepped out of the car and was faced with pairs of eyes staring at her in awe. Maybe if it was any other time, she would consider herself a lucky girl but not this time.

The excitement that was supposed to be in her wasn't, instead, it felt like she was trying to suffocate herself.

Ignoring the hundreds of eyes on her, she walked herself to the aisle, where a young man of about his late twenties was standing.

She's pretty sure it's her soon-to-be husband, and it hurts to know her life will no longer be her simple and easygoing one.

"You can do it, Daisy... You can do everything!" She whispers inwardly to herself

Mrs Smith walks up to Daisy and holds her arm, "I know you aren't happy, but for your father's sake, fake it" she whispers into her ears and takes her into a hug.

"It's not like I have a choice, I've been faking it ever since" Daisy grumbles to herself.

She saw her dad approaching with a huge smile plastered on his lips, he looked like a good father who genuinely cared for his daughter

He smiles so brightly that the dark and evil side of him could be assumed to be just an illusion. His white pearl teeth harbour nothing but pretend and his eyes emit nothing but hate.

Daisy tries so much not to cry, she can't cry at a time like this. No one would understand anyway, no one would believe her if she said he was a demon in disguise.

"Just like your mom, you look as magnificent and as beautiful as the morning sun!" Mr Smith praises, reaches for her and kisses her on her cheeks.

"Behave well while I'm being nice" he whispers threateningly and pulls away.

The smile was still plastered on his lips and he looked like the happiest of all the fathers in the whole wide world.

Daisy forces a smile, "I will try my best, Dad." She is trying so much not to behave

Mr Smith nods, "I trust you won't do that" he takes her left hand and leads her further into the hall.

Mr Smith stops in front of the man in his late twenties and places Daisy's hands on his.

Daisy was expecting to see someone different but looking at him now, he wasn't as different as she'd thought.

The smile on his lips makes her unable to read his mind, he looks like someone with genuine happiness, willing to accept her regardless

"Shall we, my lady?" His deep low and pleasant voice vibrates. She couldn't help but think about her stranger on the rooftop.

The sound of his voice vibrates her heart, just the way the stranger's voice does. She shakes her head in denial, assuming it's just an illusion.

"Maybe they've got similar voices, that's all," she said to herself in comfort.

Daisy nods in response, allowing him to lead her to where the priest is standing.

They stood before the priest waiting for him to start, Daisy had thought she'd be able to do this but looking at things now, she is sure she couldn't.

Her eyes dart around in the crowd waiting for someone to say otherwise so she won't get to go into this thing called marriage but no one dared object, They left her standing on the boat with a stranger in the middle of the ocean, assuming she'll be fine.

Tears roll down her cheeks at the realization she's truly got no one to run to.

He squeezes her hands pulling her back to the present, Daisy turns to him. His blue eyes were so beautiful that she couldn't help but get lost in them.

"Answer the priest!" He informs, reminding her that she's been spaced out.

"I-i..." Daisy stutters, unsure if she should tie the knots or not.

He leans closer, so close that Daisy can smell the pleasant scent of his fragrance and whispers into her ears

"Calm down, don't overthink it... It's as simple as a yes"

Daisy felt her rising heart responding to his comforting words. Her eyes caught sight of his full face, he was handsome.. no, not handsome cause it was an understatement.

His beauty and aura spoke of responsibility, gentleness, and authority and about all, he calms respect wherever he goes making it impossible to do otherwise.

This gentle side he portrays makes Daisy sure he can treat her better than her parents did.

With the thought, Daisy spoke out the word even before she knew it

"I will"

It was like she was compelled into accepting him and the moment she realized that, she knew she'd signed her dead wish.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss your Bride" the priest announced.

Daisy gulps unsure if she will let him kiss her or not. She's never kissed anyone and it scares her to know she will now, but to a stranger she's never known or loved.
