Chapter 4 04

At nine am sharp, Eira black Mercedes-Benz pulling pull up at the Hans Group building. Eira put on her sunglasses. Grabbing her coffee she step out followed by Dexter.

Eira eyes lower to her flat stomach that's been growling ever since she left the house.

"What's wrong?" Dexter ask after seeing his daughter gazing down.

Eira lift her gaze. "Nothing let's go."

Eira walk inside the building. An assistant took them to the meeting room were they were to wait.

Eira wasn't expecting to see the man she hate in the meeting room.

Max eyes lit up. This was a surprise, he wasn't expecting to see Eira today.

Nicholas frown. He wasn't expecting this.

Neither one say a word to each other. Eira and Dex sat far across for the father and son pair.

Eira started to go through the documents, getting advice from Dexter. She nodded and give her own opinion.

Max and Nicholas stare at them. Nicholas was envious. Why wasn't his daughter like Eira.

The door was push open causing, Eira to look up.

Gary Hans stand at the door. Gary Hans is the CEO of Hans Group. He smile at them.

Gary walks in. "You guys being here early make me feel like I'm late." He chuckled. "Okay then let's get start Rune-" Gary drag when he saw that it wasn't Rune sitting in the chair.

Eira smile. "Good to see you too, Mr. Hans. Sorry but my brother couldn't made it. So I'm stepping in. I hope you don't mind."

"No no not at all," Gary say nervously his cheeks turning a familiar shade of red.

Max face darken. Why was Eira smiling at Gary like that? She dares to flirt with a man that's not him.

A CEO of a certain company stood up and start. Giving his opinion on what to do and what not to do.

As Eira listen she frown.

After he was finish the man was proud of his good presentation.

"Thank you mister Mark-"

"Hold up," Eira cut in.

Everyone turn to her.

Eira tilt her head, "Mr. Mark, did you know the building you want to tear down is an apartment complex."

"Ms. King I did my research," Mr. Mark answer not wanting to offend Eira.

"Oh, so you also know that the apartments are currently occupied." Eira raise a brow.

"Yes."

Eira was about to open her mouth to say something but.

"King, why don't you stop picking on the poor old man." Max said.

Eira eyes went cold. She turn her head and glared at Max.

"Shut your mouth, Thompson."

Max roll his eyes.

Eira turn back to Mr. Mark. "So what were you going to do. You know that people live in those apartment and yet you want to tear it down."

"King, Mark have a point. The location of the apartment is better then the other."

"Then what about the people?"

Max lips turn up, "they just have to find some were else to stay. The city is big after all."

Eira frown. She turn to Hans, "why don't we find a different location, for the project." She then turn to Mr. Mark. Giving him a stern glare. "Instead of making people homeless."

"Ms. King, the land the apartment is on is best for the project." Mark said.

Eira grimace. Eira stay quiet for the entire meeting. When the meeting was over she stood up.

"Dad, I'm going to the restroom. Wait for me by the car."

Dexter nod and got up.

Eira went to the bathroom. When she finish her business. She started walking to the elevator. But as she was walking pass a door, it suddenly open and a hand stretch out grab her and pulled her in the room.

Eira was surprise. Her back was against the close door. Eira look up and found Max staring at her. Her face darken.

"What the hell, Thompson?" She snap.

Max stare at her with his cold almond shape eyes. Through out the meeting Gary eyes was on Eira. Max wanted to pull out Gary eyes.

Max eyes gaze at Eira outfit.

Eira was wearing, a green elegant dress.

Max lift his hand, put a strand of hair, behind Eira ear. Eira didn't flinch or give him any reaction. She only glare at him.

"What do you want Thompson?" Eira was annoyed.

"Why do you have to be so beautiful," Max muttered.

Before Eira can react, Max lips was on hers. Eira shock by Max sudden act. It took her a few seconds to react.

Placing her hand on Max's chest. Eira push. She try pushing him away. But Max only pull her closer and hold her tighter. He long for this.

Eira was short on breath. Without a second thought, she bit down hard on Max's lower lip. The taste of blood entering her mouth.

Max gasp and pull away, his head turn to the said as his left cheek sting.

Max turn to face, Eira who was glaring at him greeting heavily.

"You slap me," Max touch his stinging cheek.

"Fuck you Thompson. How dare you? You better stay away from our I swear I'll have you put in prison for sexual harassment." Eira snap, tears in her eyes but she refuse to let them out.

Guilt flash in Max's eyes, "Eir-" He reach out to touch her.

"Don't touch me," Eira raise her voice. Eira open the door and walk out leaving Max alone.

In the elevator, she wipe away her tears. She have never been treated like this.

"Get yourself together Eira." Eira mutter to herself.

Dexter waited in the car for his daughter. When he saw her step out of the Hans Group. He could immediately tell that something was wrong.

"Dad, drive," Eira utter getting in the back seat.

Dexter got in the driver seat. He started the car and drove off.

"You did the right thing. Rune would have down the same thing. Gary is a newcomer to the business world." Dexter start, "He should take lesson from you."

Eira chuckled. "Dad, I'm hungry why don't we go get something to eat?"

Dexter lips turn upward. Seeing a smile on his daughter made his day.

"Okay."

Dexter wanted to mention something to Eira. He saw the way Max gaze at her. Dexter want to tell his daughter to stay away from the Thompson.

Dexter himself been receiving dirty looks from Nicholas, but Dexter ignore it.

Dexter let out a low sigh. It appears that he'll have to talk to Rune about this.

Eira and Dexter eat at a Cafe. Soon after Dexter drove them to the Kings residence.

Lana was in the garden. A maid came and told her of, Dexter and Eira arrival. Lana hurriedly went inside.

"Where's Eira?" Lana asking entering the living room.

Only Dexter was there.

"She went to up to her room." Dexter reply.

"How did the meeting go." Lana ask.

Dexter turn to his wife and told her everything that happen at the Hans Group. "She refuse to be apart of that."

"Oh."

Dexter didn't tell Lana about the way Max was staring at Eira.
