Chapter 1

Veronica's POV

"Doc, how is my mother doing?" I asked the doctor when I entered the hospital.

I finished work at four in the morning, so I only went to the hospital today. I was in a hurry when I found out that my mother was attacked again by her stomach pain.

"Hija, I'm going to tell you, we need to remove your mother's tumor from her fallopian tube because it's growing, it's dangerous and she could die. Your mother has been confined here for almost a month, your bills. " The doctor answered me before leaving.

I looked at my mother lying in the hospital bed.

I immediately signed the consent form because I knew that mother's illness was serious. If the tumor in her fallopian tube bursts, she will die. I can't do that.

"Ok Ma'am, you can sit there now." The nurse said that's why I sat down first.

After more than two hours, the doctor came out of the operating room.

"Doc, how is my mother?" I open here.

"The operation was successful. We just have to wait for your mother to wake up, but she's stable. We will transfer her to her room after the wrap up." The doctor answered so I breathed a sigh of relief.

I went home and decided not to go in to sleep at least because I was going to work early later.

I woke up around five in the afternoon so I got up right away to get ready.

I walked to work. I have to save because mother's surgery has gone on. I need to pay the hospital.

"Oh Jade. Why is it your morning for time in?" Jasmin greeted me when I entered the club.

"My mother has already had surgery. I need a lot of money." I said and walked to the dressing room to get dressed in my black panther uniform.

I just nodded and got undressed to get dressed.

"Mom, you can go out the next day." I whispered because I didn't want my mother to wake up. It will surely make me angry again.

"Mom, did you know? Someone was kind enough to help me with your hospital bills so we can get out. I miss you." Tears came to my eyes but I immediately wiped them away.

"Tomorrow, I will thank him at the club. I want to thank him for his kindness. I owe him your life." I said and kissed my mother.

Then I went home to do my plates due the next day.
