Chapter 2 The Invitation

After Calhoun paid the bills, he felt more at ease and decided to leave the hospital when he saw that Bella had fallen asleep. Bella's treatments had already started, and she had woken up earlier in the day. Calhoun now had a destination in mind – he was heading towards Golden Avenue.

Golden Avenue was renowned for being the most exclusive and expensive neighborhood in J town. It boasted several houses, but the grandest mansion belonged to the wealthiest man in the entire town. Rumors circulated that only the richest man in J town could reside there. Calhoun parked his bike and proceeded inside.

Finally arriving at the main entrance, he was greeted by a substantial gate. Outside the gate, two guards stood watchfully..

"I have an appointment." Calhoun said with a smile.

They both turned around and looked at him with astonishment. One guard approached, "Who are you?"

"I am Calhoun Dontonio, i was invited by Uncle Dante," he replied.

"Uncle Dante...I'm sorry, but we have no record of anyone matching your description.

He then answered, "Bruce Dontonio". The Dante he was referring to was his family's butler. His full name was Bruce Dante Dontonio but not everyone knew he answered Dante.

The other guard looked Calhoun up and down. As Calhoun waited, he could hear them whispering to each other.

"Should we let him in?"

"No, of course not, would a poorly dressed man be a guest of Master Bruce, maybe he's just here to look for trouble."

"Then it's best to send him away."

Calhoun didn't pay attention to the whispers, but the first guard quickly spoke up, "Hey, it's best you get out. Do you know the price for lying with Master Bruce's name."

The other guard snickered along , "You're dressed like a servant and you want to see Master Bruce. Even rich second generations do not have the right to let alone you. You better get out of here before I break your legs. For entertaining us with your look, I can let you go in one piece."

Calhoun stared at them for a moment, he took out his phone and called his butler.

"Uncle Dante, I guess I'm that useless to be despised by your gate guards"

Panicked, Dante who was sitting in a excessively furnished living rose up while hurrying out.

"Young master, I'm sorry. Please wait for me, I'm coming out now. Please don't go", he pleaded.

Calhoun responded, "You have two minutes". He hung up and look at the guards.

The guards laughed and began to walk towards him, "We will show you out since you won't do it on your own".

Calhoun remained calm, one of the guys tried hitting him but ended up being thrown back.

"We're going to kill you, filthy trash," he yelled as they both pushed and punched him.

Calhoun dodged and just as he was about to throw a punch, he saw Dante hurrying over.

When Dante came over, he slapped both of them simulateneously. "You fools! How dare you touch my young master?"

He then walked towards Calhoun and bowed under the shocked eyes of two guards and also the other guards and servants who came along with him, "I'm sorry Young master." he said to Calhoun.

"Sir, please forgive us," the first guard said, while the other echoed along with him.

Dante smiled and said, "Do you know what happens when a dog pisses on a rug? It gets beaten by the owner." He then turned to the guards, "For offending my young master, you deserve nothing but death".

The two guards fell on their knees and begged . They faced Calhoun, "Young master, please forgive us. We didn't know who you were. It will never happen again." Calhoun watched silently.

Then he spoke to Dante who was about to give the order to execute them, "Uncle Dante, I believe they have learnt their lesson. However they should still suffer for it bit not with their lives". Dante looked at Calhoun with a hint of surprise on his face and nodded his head while Calhoun headed into the mansion.

Dante immediately spoke angrily, "You are both fired and i'll make sure nobody will ever hire you two even as a security guard".

He gave instructions to a few servants and followed Calhoun while those guards begged bitterly as they were thrown out.

Inside the biggest building, Calhoun was greeted by a group of servants, "Welcome home Young master", they bowed politely.

Dante led him into the dining room. The table was filled with all kinds of delicacies.

"Your parents are on their way here. They just landed in the airport so they are on their way now". Dante said while leading Calhoun to his seat.
