Chapter 2 1

"Love, come here so I can show you something," she said. Simply smiling caused Navi's touch to briefly shut my hand, after which she smiled and continued to smile. Even though Navi never gave me the impression that he didn't love me, every time he smiled at me I felt as though I was going to dissolve into a puddle of goo. My feelings for him become deeper and more intense with each passing day.

He interrupted my train of thinking by saying, "That's why you were surprised, I thought," and he shook his head at me.

"I only want to be with you, because I want the best for you, and you are the only people I want to spend time with." After that, we'll receive our diplomas, and I'm going to take you to an exclusive restaurant to celebrate our first year of marriage." My face became red and I averted my sight in embarrassment as I said, "You know, we really ought to get married as soon as possible." He shared his thoughts and feelings with me on that particular day. Every day started off as though we were the only people in the world who were simultaneously inventing something new.

"We don't even have a job yet, and you're thinking about getting married," the other person said. You are aware that I do not have a lot of money, therefore in order to be ready for this trip, we need to save some money and get organized. But it goes without saying that I'll put in a lot of effort for my son, and after all, he'll be my family, right? He gave me a kind grin before planting a peck on my cheek.

We are enjoying the life that we have always dreamed of. I give him a chuckle and then take his hand in mine. Even I am pleased with the way my life has turned out. I'm now in the company of the person I most like being with. I am going to receive my degree from the university, and Navi is going to receive her degree from the college. It is expected that he will graduate with a master's degree.

He moved closer to me, and as he did so, I struck him till the world seemed to slow down and I was embarrassed in a very short amount of time.

Because Nila was the only one who was with me at the time, I'm sure he's curious about why I'm avoiding him. After a while, Nila and I stopped spending a lot of time together, and that's when Navi began his courtship of me. However, I keep declining his offer. This anger on Navi's part lingered for three years and only became stronger with the passage of time. The year before, he was dead set on drying me out. During the second year of my undergraduate education, I come clean about my feelings for him.

On the day that he brought puto bumbong to me, I informed him that I liked him and that I knew he was from Davao since he and his mother had recently moved back to Davao.
