Kania immediately touched her face and smiled slightly. She returned to her desk and resumed her work, but Bianca didn't stop pestering her.
"Kania, are you fighting with your boyfriend?" Bianca teased.
Kania didn't respond to what she said, as it was not important to her, and chose to focus on her work.
"Kania, do you want to have lunch with me?" Bianca offered.
Kania closed her document files, looked at Bianca, and said, "I'll join you if you stop bothering me."
Bianca chuckled embarrassingly, realizing that she had been bothering Kania too much. She walked away, leaving Kania at her desk.
"So annoying," Kania mumbled.
While Kania was busy working, Tom called her to his office for the second time. Kania hurried to meet her boss, although her heart was still filled with resentment.
"Is there something I can help with?" Kania asked with a slightly softer tone, not wanting her emotions to be used as a reason for her to be dismissed from her job.
Tom smiled at her, making her disgusted by his seemingly mocking smile.
"I want you to make coffee for me," he requested.
Kania sighed before venting her emotions, "Do you think I'm a servant? I'm your secretary, my job is only to assist you with scheduling and anything work-related," Kania retorted.
Tom chuckled slightly, "Are you angry with me just because I didn't answer your call that day?" he asked, showing no remorse whatsoever.
Kania couldn't contain her emotions any longer, and she let out all the pent-up frustration. "You're so shameless," Kania exclaimed.
Tom continued to smirk, seemingly unaware of his wrongdoing. "So, you're mad because I left you at that foolish engagement? Don't you remember who asked me to get engaged right away?"
Kania fell silent, realizing that all of this was her own terrible mistake. She had asked a man to marry her and was willing to take out loans from the bank to host an engagement party and prepare for a wedding.
"Your foolishness, for being too trusting of others," Tom concluded, his tone mocking.
Kania couldn't hold back her tears and quickly left Tom's office. She headed to the restroom near the office to calm herself down before her emotions overwhelmed her. Kania cried softly, holding back her sobs, and trying to ease the pain in her chest.
"I truly am so foolish, for believing so easily in a man who only used words as a guarantee that he loved me," Kania expressed her heartache.
While feeling low and heartbroken, Kania received a message from an unknown number. She unlocked her phone and read the message, gasping in surprise at the photo attached to it.
"Wh-who is this? Wh-why have all my bank debts been paid off?" Kania asked in astonishment.
Kania decided to go to the bank immediately to check her account.
"Is it true that all my loans at the bank have been paid off?" Kania asked in a slightly panicked tone.
"After checking your account, your debts and loans at the bank have indeed been paid off," one of the bank employees responsible for finances confirmed.
Kania was stunned, wondering why her debts had been paid off. She went home feeling puzzled and amazed.
"Mom, do you know who paid off all my debts at the bank?" Kania asked.
For a moment, Nurdia was taken aback by Kania's question. There was a hint of anxiety and tension in her expression.
"Mom, please be honest with me. Do you know about this?" Kania asked again.
Nurdia struggled to explain to her daughter, feeling intimidated by her gaze.
Kania was still preoccupied with her bank debt, unable to comprehend who had kindly paid off all her debts.
"In this day and age, no one just gives away $50,000 to pay off someone else's debt. So, who paid off my debt?" Kania asked restlessly.
Kania grabbed a nearby pillow, covered her face with it, and let out a loud scream.
"Why have you added another problem when I haven't even solved the first one?" Kania asked irritably.
The next day, Kania came to the office with a weary expression and dark circles under her eyes. She hadn't slept all night, too preoccupied with figuring out who had paid off her debt, causing her to forget about sleep.
"Kania, you don't look well. Are you sick?" Bianca asked, looking at Kania with concern, her eyes half-closed.
"Stay away from me, Bian. I don't want to joke around right now," Kania replied lazily, walking away to her desk and resting her head on it. She was trying to stay calm and composed even though her thoughts weighed heavily on her.
"Kania, have you prepared to meet the owner of the big company in England?" Bianca asked, surprising Kania.
Kania gasped, "When? Didn't the boss say he wanted to meet that person himself?"
"You forgetful one. The boss also asked you to meet the owner who will be collaborating with our company," Bianca explained.
Kania lightly slapped her forehead, feeling foolish for forgetting about this important event.
"Oh my, what do we do now?" Kania asked anxiously.
"Don't worry. I brought makeup that will help you get rid of those dark circles and make your face look fresh," Bianca said with a smile, handing Kania her makeup bag.
"Quick, go and get ready," Bianca requested.
Kania hurriedly took Bianca's makeup into the restroom, carefully reapplying her makeup to conceal her tired appearance and the dark circles under her eyes.
"Thank goodness, Bianca's makeup saved me," Kania said, sighing in relief.
